There is polka dance in Mexico because we had many European immigrants and many were of German and check republic in the north of Mexico 🇲🇽 during the colonization era and Mexicans and the European immigrants married and had mixed children thus combining polka with indigenous dance moves creating the Mexican style Polka dance it’s confirmed by experts.

Especially with the clothes the dancers are wearing (NOT "German", that's strictly Bavarian dress. show up like that in Berlin or Hamburg and people will laugh at you, or kick your ass), I am really confused. Cuando vez bailar una Polka estilo europeo es cuando te das cuenta de que les hace falta algo, ese toque único que solo en México se da. Les hace falta eso que solo una Polka norteña mexicana tiene.
Hay una frase que dice "los mexicanos son muy burlones" en este caso no es como tal una burla pero las polkas que trajeron los europeas a México fueron modificados a un estilo más "exagerado" por así llamarlo ya que es un estilo más brusco y más intenso y recordemos que algunos bailes de Europa (polkas) son elegantes, algo que en México se exagero o burlo cambiando varios pasos así naciendo las polkas de chihuahua, Durango, etc.

Polka used to be massive in the midwest but then the traditions have died out. Polka is hard to come by there but if you go to a club that is mostly older folks then you can probably dance with them. My mom used to dance polka with my great grandpa every friday night for about 10 years or so.

Polish immigrants settled in Mexico's Northern Region During World War II. Mainly Chihuahua Nuevo Leon and Durango. This song has been integrated into our culture. The people that settled in Mexico kept their music alive all of these generations later and it truly is a beautiful thing

However Polkas were danced at high class events. The lower class could not attend these events so they held their own dances in their local plazas, and danced polkas. However they put their own twist on it by dancing it more fast paced and exaggerated the dance moves as a form of mockery of the high class. This is how the Mexican polka evolved to its distinct style from the European polka.
