Would you recommend Google search campaigns for a high end clothing brand? Usually with clothes the appeal tends to be visual so I am wondering what you think about search campaigns as a starting point for this type of business.

Two years in, I'm still struggling to get profitable, but it's showing promise. Just started another Google campaign because I had my best month the last time I ran one, though no conversions showed...I must not have that set up right. Anyway, Persistence is my middle name! PS. I'm originally from Worcester, just up the road. :)
After 2 years you are still struggling to be profitable? What kind of offers or business are you into, if you don't mind my asking? And did you look at all the elements that take the viewer from your ad to your offer: funnel, headline, landing page, offer, copy-writing and such? Being persistent is great, but it helps if you kind of break down what could be the issue regarding conversions (in my opinion, of course).

Shopping ads will do the trick for you as running search ads for every product will be hectic task to do. In shopping ads you can integrate Google merchant center for your every product and it will dynamically use it. So, I would recommend you should use shopping ads

No problem :) When you have more optimisation events - which you always will do when you optimise for clicks, that can help the campaign optimise initially.

That completely depends on what you are advertising. Could be just a few, could be hundreds.
