Thank you, after searching the web for days, I finally found the video of how to remove and replace a broken window that I have, all the others were ok but did not show the window I have and I am amazed as to how easy it is.

Hi. I'm changing these windows and I'm having a hard time tapping the old glass out.

I had to use a chisel to get mine out, the video looks as if there was no RTV used but I think it is used in a majority of applications.@@dynamite479

Hi do we need to use a silicone sealant or a glazing tape to fixed top glass? I see a foam tape on the old glass after removing from frame

I have a couple of glass inserts that must have leaked the argon gas because they have become foggy and until I get them out of the window, I am not sure of the dimensions. Vertical, horizontal, and Thickness because I read they come in various thicknesses. Now, I am going to remove (or try) the plastic bead on all sides and the measure and order the correct size glass insert. I will have to temporarily replace the glass, until I get the new glass insert.
I am back the next day and I tried for 30 minutes with 2 chisels to remove the bead work and it was not possible and I gave up when I was sure I was going to break the glass. They make it look easy, but it was impossible for me. I think I am going to have somebody come and do it (alas, I have failed and that is disappointing)

Hopefully someone will see this and be able to answer with knowledge. I'm trying to figure out the exact size for mine. I had a guy out for an estimate on something else and he told me what I would need, but I want to clarify. He simply measured from the outer edges of that trim piece (glazing bead) that you remove and said that is the size. I' scared it will be too big. I'm hesitant to remove the bead in case I mess it up before I order the new glass. Can that part be purchased somewhere as well? Mine is 23 years old and I'm afraid it will be brittle and break. Also, do I need to account for the little setting blocks under the window when I measure? Glass place and $140 for the glass or 275 with measure and install for a 63 x 8 piece of insulated glass. I can buy the glass online for $105.

My bead is not popping out and I'm kind of gouging it trying to pry it open with different tools it's just not wanting to budge what can I do. I also slid a thin like paint scraper behind the bead to make sure it wasn't sealed to the glass or anything

Get a razor knife with an extendable blade and extend the blade out far enough where you can bend it flat against the glass, and press it between the glass and the exterior trim to break the old seal.
