Spinalonga is THE Greek Island you need to visit. It just oozes the past, and brings Victoria Hislop's most amazing book, The Island, leap into life!

I read The Island 6 years ago and it touched my heart in a way I could never imagine. It was written so beautifully, it was like I lived the story, very touching, thank you and bravo Victoria! 💚

Having read this book I totally agree with the lady comment that it stays with you have read the follow up to the island. One night in August . But have also read a couple of more of Victoria's books the return and those who are loved what a brilliant author. Who gives you so much in a book. History n romance put together with emotion. I have to stop myself reading her books back to back as I love all types off books but this author is a gem off a writer. Thank you for giving me your stories

Went to Spinalonga over 20 years ago the Greek Captain of the boat was married to an English lady whose son was
at Southampton University studying oceanography. Victoria Hislop is not only a wonderful writer but is an accomplished
interesting public speaker intelligent and her voice is a pleasure to listen to. I will purchase her books on Spinalonga.

went there in the mid 1980's- very "untouched" then. Many graves in the cemetery were open with skeletons therein. The Ossuary (sp?) was full of bones- some had been stolen by apparently, hippies. It was a cheap boat ride from Plaka- now its much bigger business.
