7:45 and that’s an aluminum hood. I took a magnet to mine as the entire front clip is covered in PPF and the magnet isn’t attracted until you get to the doors. So the hood and fenders are aluminum.
The rear brakes only contribute 10 to 20% of the stopping power. Adding bigger disks and calipers with multiple pistons will only add weight to the car for very little improvement in stopping distances from any speed.
@@steelankles Check CJ Pony Parts to see if Brembo makes a 4 piston caliper you can use. But make sure your wheels will clear the brake housing without interference.
I swapped out my center gauges with the set for the GT350 which is oil pressure and oil temp. You lose the My Color feature…but I’d much rather have oil temp with white backlight than vacuum with colored backlight. Was plug and play…no changes to settings.
I personally just swapped to 5W-50 after finding out that is all ford performance racing school uses and how quiet all those cars ran at the track attack. I picked up about 10 psi of oil pressure across the board. Nothing crazy but with the oil cooler you can go as hard as you want that 50 weight oil is never thinning to the point of losing oil pressure enough to damage the engine. I did my homework it’s the same oil pump as the GT 350 and same oil filter as the boss 302 both of which run 5W-50 I’d recommend it especially if you have the coyote tick. 10.5 quarts of Amsoil 5w-50. Even though it says 10 quarts to get it to full is more like 10.5 quarts.
Best thing I did to my gt pp was upgrade to the ford track pack suspension and running 18s on 305s squared for slicks or 305s squared on 19s for street tires. As for brakes, gyro discs and hawk pads on stock caliper is perfect
To cut weight off the front tires, get a CF hood. The OEM hood is heavy and the hood struts are weak for a very good reason. It helps to minimize the amount of lift force the hood puts on the hood latch when driving much faster than you should be. Get a CF hood. Keep the weak hood struts. And invest in getting lockable hood latches to keep that hood in place at any speed.
I appreciate this review man. Owned 2 SS 1le's and im looking at this or a Zl1 (non 1le). Kinda hard to decide the mach 1 HP coming close to 68k and a zl1 around 74k. Drove the Mach HP and such a hell of a car I really enjoyed it, but camaro has the better seats IMO. Your thoughts on a Mach 1 vs ZL1 (non 1le) considering they are close in price? New sub!
I own ZL1 1LE also, the seats are more comfy in camaro. Visibility is hilariously bad in camaro, but power is way stronger in ZL1 stock on stock. There both really good, depends on what you want out of it. The Mach 1 is more popular here in the southeast!
Thanks man its the little things that matter. Why would they put the cup tires? Makes no sense. Heavy hood makes no sense. Thanks again. Change the rear end to 410 gears.
in addition to missing your front wheel lips, you're missing your additional front lower splitter that comes with the Handling Package? Unless you removed yourself?
You’re missing a plastic piece that clips into your front wheel wells. It helps prevent rocks from being picked up and thrown at your rear fenders. Go to your dealers parts department, and tell them ford should have shipped it to them separately. If they don’t get have YOURS specifically, they might still have some laying around from other Mach 1 owners that never went to pick theirs up. Specially helps on handling package Mach 1s since they have wider tires up front. You can install them yourself, or have the service department install it for you, likely free of charge
I could not hear the tires you switched to, May I ask which ones, do you like them? I have the same car, the cup 2s aren't a good street choice where I live.
Shows Michelin Pilot Sport 4S at 0:38. I changed mine out to the same a couple of months ago on my Mach 1 once the OEM Cup2s got thin. Been using them and their predecessor Pilot Super Sports on Mustang 5.0s as long as they have been around. On my 4th set now. Great tires.
I switched to MP4S, they are a great all around tire. Cup2 are way better on track. MP4S took alot of the twitchiness and tramlining out on the street.
Interior quality???? Ummm it's ok, it's been the same for last 100 years. Competition in this price range beats it out of the park. On the other hand, the performance of the car for the money, is the best 100%
This and the gt350 are the best looking of the s550 generation!! 🙌🏻
Only 4000 miles in 6 months? Drive it more and enjoy it. Because you never know what's around the corner. Nice car brother. Better than my GT
That's some sound advice. These cars are meant to be driven.

Yep just wish the caliper was brembo style

I forget who makes it but you can buy a replacement set of gauges for that center to change out the vacuum gauge

I have one too and I love it. I'm trying to find out how many were made. Anyone know any numbers?

@Aerodaves I got brand new ones, 150 miles on them I'll sell you for 500.00.

Very nicely done review!
Thank you!
Did you own a ZL11LE or GT350 prior? Can't tell if you have owned the vehicles in your video history or if you are getting these from friends.
I own the zl11le, and the mach1, the gt350 is a friend that have drove on track and street quite a bit.
Nice car, love mine too. What is your thinking on covering the license plate?
Easy to find people and their cars location if you have their license plate number.
@@pathfindercod4638 Just curious as I never see any cars plates covered on the road and I thought only the police could run a plate for info.
@@todd8672 Nah you can get info easy from plate numbers. Just not safe to put out in the wide open internet.
Manual driver seat adjustment your kidding. Rear brakes 1 piston brembo? I would change them. Please tell me youhave hood pistons.
Daily driver?
No, the Camaro has an awesome transmission. The tremec 6060 1 of the best gear boxes on the market
The TREEMAC? 😂

Lol!
