Any way you could give like a first play through build suggestion? Should you go heavy or mid or light armor? What stats should you focus etc... any help is appreciated
First playthrough is pick whatever is strongest and use it. Weight try and keep your weight under 70.0% for B agility and if you use A agility then 30.0% and under. I wouldn't worry about any build on this playthrough as everything becomes useless once you clear the game since you get divines. Get your heart/courage up. Bump a bit of everything. Try and get magic and dex to 30 for max capacity. I personally focused mostly on heart and courage then added whats needed as I go.
Great video 3 years later. Thank you. For a weapon as pre-shift and active skill heavy as the fists it would be nice to see an input display and names of active skills or basic attack strings, either on screen or in captions as they happen. I understand it's a lot of extra work to add these but it would be much easier to understand what things you're chaining.
I have a friend of mine(pooferllama) making one for that & I will link it when he uploads it. If you have any questions about this video post a comment :)
I wish I can play fists this well. I'm having a real tough time with them. I love them but I'm constantly having to watch my ki and then I either forget what stance I'm in, forget to flux or I run out of ki without realizing b/c I'm too aggressive. I guess I need to practice a ton more. Thanks for this vid it's great.
You gotta pause in between aggression and flux 2. This is very important and also make sure not to use skills like ocean zephyr, defensive drop and wolfs claw as combo enders because it drains your pulse red bar completely so you lose your ki pulse. Id recommend having ultimate courage at least and maybe ultimate heart. As long as you flux you should be fine with ki. You're welcome. :)
@@Kagerasimaru I'm gonna try to take those off actually. I don't use them too much though. I think I spam highbatrong into battering ram a little too much. In all honesty it's mainly due to not remembering what the skills are as I just started using the weapon a few das ago. It's just not forgiving at all with ki and it's so easy to get carried away with the attacks. I find it way more comfortable to use tonfa and the fact that you can just cancel any attack is great. And idk why flux 2 is just so annoying for me. I have almost 500 hours into this game and flux 1 is great but 2 is just a bit of a task. Anyway sorry for the rant 😓 Appreciate the advice and love your channel.
I wouldn't take those skills off. They all have a use. Spend some time in the dojo getting yourself familiarized with the weapon, stances, skills on each stance. Flux2 I had the same issue when I first learned it in nioh 1. Its a muscle memory thing that happens over time. This is another thing you can try working on slowly and add it into your mix. Trust me I may make it look easy in this video or any other fists video gameplay I release but they did not go without the struggle. I was in the same shoes you are currently at when I was new to the weapon. It felt overwhelming at first, but the moment I understood that skills chain to each other and normal attacks chain from skills the weapon slowly started to click. Its a weapon that takes some time to learn. Keep at it. 👍😎
@@Kagerasimaru Awesome. Thank you so much! I just finally beat tate eboshi on a DotN scroll with fists and I honestly don't know how I did it lol I def need to spend more time in the dojo.
If youre ever around when I stream and want some showcase on anything I can gladly do so. Havent streamed for a bit but maybe next week on the weekend.
SHEEESH ur so skilled. i love fists and i do okay, but i cannot build stacks consistently or over 4 in most cases. this vid is very helpful! but i feel my brain hurting from trying to learn by practicing these strings
I appreciate the compliment, but honestly you can also be very good. Once you spend enough time the weapon starts to flow. The whole idea of the video is to kinda give you an idea. You dont need to follow it 1 to 1. Just remember what each move's utility is and you can get a better idea for the weapon.
@@Kagerasimaru haha yeah. ur vid gave me a lot of good ideas and imma try to implement the style so to speak. i get fists, its just that my strings were 85% in high stance after i got beyond infinity. me practicing it's timing just inhibited my stack building skills lol. and enemies just died after one round of beyond infinity + kick flurry which didn't really help either. now that it's been a few hours, im definitely building stacks way more consistently! ill definitely come back to this vid eventually once i feel like my learning curve is plateau-ing :D
Fantastic guide! Everything is properly categorized and organized and all of the explanations are concise and on point. All the example and setups are extremely useful too. The section that describes the various skill is especially well done as it gives pointers on why and how they're useful. I was on break till the next dlc but you seriously made me want to go back and experiment more with all this stuff, the Izuna Drop cancel in particular gave me a lot of ideas and it's something I never even tried to do. Seriously, amazing work! I have question, you seem to mantain a lot of ki even during long combos without ki pulsing which something that I can't manage with fists even while stacking active skill ki consumption. So I'm curious, did you build for Ki consumption, ki recovery speed or something else?
Thanks for watching and to answer your question that is the power of ultimate courage. I recommend this to anyone that wants a more tolerable ki consumption setup. It reduces your overall ki cost by a good amount. Now add that with corruption ki steal and you got yourself a monster.
Shouldn't be hard to get that stat. I'm running Ultimate Courage and Heart atm. Ultimate Heart is kinda bugged now where it only works on ki pulse but not flux.
@@Kagerasimaru awesome guide bro! Just started playing this game recently and I can't wait to do this continuous combos. Though I wanna ask what armor and core stats to go for when starting just recently? Just finished the 7th mission and currently using full shrine maiden set but I have problems in managing my ki and I can only combo up to 5-6 different attacks (fully depleted ki).
You're welcome. As for stats early on there is no wrong or right stat. Just make sure to bump each stat a few since the early points gives the biggest values.
thank you so much for this vid. i hadnt put much time into the fists, but my scrub ass has been just spamming Spinning Kick > Kick Cycle , praying it works lol. ima try some of this other stuff
Professionally done, bud! This video has everything going on. Sections, explanations, slowdowns, different enemies, details.. Hence, even something extra at the end ^0^ Impossible is nothing with claws, it seems. Evade everything skilfully, even the biggest of cannonballs! That finisher on Yasha 😎 Will help a lot of players who want to use this powerful weapon more effectively. Thanks for all your hard work! 感謝します。
I see that you dont use "reckless charge + dreadslayer". Any particular reason? I'm just curious cuz I put "Imperious Strike" on it and use it as my combo starter which generates alot of anima, puts status effects on pretty well and it has I-frames. You can use it even when Oni Shibata or Gozuki is charging at you and take no damage and stop them in their tracks. I also put "reckless slice" on rising gale since the penalty of not being able to ki pulse does not affect it and you get 10% more damage. It great when you pair it with archers impact to break human ki bars down when they are blocking. Archers Impact + Rising gale .. rinse and repeat You can use reckless slice with other weopons too like: sword - Heaven flash dual swords - winter wind spear- rainbow ruse or spear flourish splitstaff - darting cloud Thanks for all the videos :)
I dont use it bc its super easy, takes too much ki, tbh I prefer stomp due to its instant animation. Fists already do so much and personally I've used reckless charge in the past and its not my type of skill. I have imperious strike on opportunist bc I use it a ton.
You're welcome and glad they're helping :) Well I don't have an agility change per weapon. I have an agility I stick with doesn't matter the weapon and now its current AA because of ultimate stamina.
@@Kagerasimaru Thanks again for your words! If I have my first playthrough, then I would stick with agility A with higher toughness? I can't wait to watch more of your upcoming video :)
This video is basically perfect for the same set up I use on my fists except I prefer beyond infinity over limitless, just because beyond infinity is busted and it’s a great way to attack zero Ki enemies
Congratulations, sir. I've been following you since the Nioh Tonfa videos. Enjoyed to know about the existance of the oppurtunist skill. Could you tell me if another weapon, besides fists, has a similar parry skill able to parry yokai attacks as well? Keep up the good work. You're definitely a great reference for all of us, Nioh enthusiasts! 👍🌸⛩
Thank you that means a lot. Back in nioh 1 dual swords earthly flow used to be like that but its been nerfed for some reason idky. Opportunist is special because its essentially treated like devil may cry's famous royal guard. So reliable and so enjoyable to pull off.
@@Kagerasimaru Oh, man... you said it all: Devil May Cry's Royal Guard is spectacular! I'm also a fan of the franchise, as well as, a fan of Ryu's parry in Street Fighter V :) I fell in love with Nioh's parry system since the beginning but when I realized most of the parry skills could not be used againt yokai, I started searching for other options. That was when I came across the dual swords earthly flow. It's a pity the tonfas Thousand tongues would not work againt yokai attacks in Nioh. By the way, have the tonfas gotten any good improvements in Nioh 2? Thanks again for you attention and I'm looking forward for your next videos.
The next dlc should be giving us some new skills since we aren't getting a new weapon. Here's hoping we get a bunch of skills to flush out the older weapons. My hope(probably won't happen) is the weapon skill tree circles to be fully filled out.
You're so good at this game, dude! Teach me your wa - Why, thank you, I didn't even have to ask! I enjoyed this video a fair bit. Loved the Yasha Izuna cancel, by the way!
Since things move so fast it would be helpful to label a combo or two as they happen in slow motion. Also, when you say, "that should solve the stacks issue" you didn't establish the context of "what is the stack issue". That implies there is a problem. I think the biggest challenge with using fists is stacking skills vs flux ki recovery. Is that what you meant? I would also use a clearer text format. The black text at the dweller part is not good. Also, just in case, any two attacks will cause a standing dweller to fall over for easy final blows. Off, the text at 12:22 is difficult to read. Same issue. White text with a black border is best for readability. Do you opportunist ki recovery on your gear? That is a good suggestion. Also if you have any 150 skills like heart? I see so many people who don't know how to ki manage and fists are a bit too way to mash irresponsibly. These are just suggestions if you make another tip video for others. And just in case people aren't observant, I would also suggest pointing out that using a yokai shift move mid combo is a good way to recover ki. You know this obviously, but people don't always look and learn properly.
So stacks issue is something I should have elaborated on, but most tend to focus on building stacks first time with the weapon and that will essentially lose their focus. I know people currently who have a hard time with the weapon and its due to them focusing on how many stacks they're building up. For text and color I was essentially trying to stick to a specific theme to match the character. Pink for the pink hair character and purple for purple character. As for the 150 I have ultimate heart and courage. Courage is a must have. As for your suggestion about using a yokai skill mid combo to regen ki I've already mentioned to keep an eye on ki and flux. This video is more geared towards the weapon not a general tutorial so I didn't think it would make much sense to include it since at this stage people would know that. Anyway thank you for the feedback. I'm going to be doing a follow up later on after dlc3. Any other suggestions you think would be better I'd appreciate it.
i was going to also show my weapon but i had to cut a lot of footage. As for opportunist i would recommend having the perk Opportunist (ki recovery) perk on weapon.
damn im so hype for the pc version, and when i saw how calws play i had to play the first game again. awesome vid btw. im pretty sure i will watch it a few more times :D
I'm pretty excited to see what await. Its gonna be great for the pc community to join the existing ps community. Greatness awaits. Enjoy the game. Not long now ^_^
shit, i thought i know how to play fist until i saw this vid. Btw, how do you block fast with Opportunist, i can't barely block the 2nd hit from human enemies.
Thanks for this tutorial it helps a lot ! How come there are no red parts in your ki when you attack the enemy ? Are you built for strength ? I was thinking going with heart/dexterity but it seems without having the ki pulse stat you can't combo properly because you always have to mark a pause in order to wait for the red part of your ki to become blue
Np and to answer your question its how corruption weapons work. It rewards you for attacking. So you won't need to wait for the ki bar to fill much if at all.
Love the vid tho 1 question what type of agility is recommended for fists? Played Nioh 1 with agility C tonfas and it was managable but playing nioh 2 with agility C fists consumes alot of ki.
I personally love A agility and with ultimate stamina im now AA agility. However i would highly recommend against C agility. Try and bring your weight down to 70.0 % or under atleast. Agility C is really bad tbh with how low the ki regen is, small distance dodges and uses way more ki per attack. Definitely try to change that. As for your question it doesn't matter for what agility you play for a weapon. Just keep your weight where I mentioned and you'll be good.
Im the type of guy who goes all or nothing in this case Agi A or C but after watching this vid its clear that im going Agi A especially with those opportunist parries are crazy like daigo playing street fighter
I use fists so the move isn't accessible to fists. I honestly messed with it and don't need it lol. Plus I've used the move a ton back in ninja gaiden so it isn't new to me.
I'm trying to use archer's impact (low: tri hold), preswap to high, full pulse with rising gale (left stick fwd) but also flux II from high to mid to low. Then repeat (low: tri hold for archer's impact again). The flux II seems to be working but for some reason it's taking me back into mid stance afterwards, so the archer's impact is a kick cycle in mid instead. I checked the recording and I'm not pressing square after pressing cross, so I don't know why I'm being put back into mid stance. This is the only case where I've seen this. Do you have any ideas?
There are some weapons that have this weird bug of shifting you back to mid even if you didn't want to be there. I think usually it has to do with timely guard, but fists don't have a timely guard. That's about all I know about that unfortunately.
Thanks for this video, I have to learn to change the stands... can I ask you what’s the best armour for the fists from the begging. I have master archer armour. Thanks again:) you are a master with the fists! 👏👏👏
I'll be very honest with you, I do not spec for any specific weapon. I just use any weapon. A weapon doesn't need an armor to do well. Your buffs and debuffing on enemies is what will cause it to do damage and such. I use all weapons so I just play whatever.
when you were showing how to block with opportunist and blocking multiple hits really fast in a row...are you pressing L1+square for each hit? I can only block 1st strike but I get hit by everything that follows it.
hey great video, but quick question, and i could just be too new with fists to understand but i thought the takedown skill was a counter skill where you launch them up in the air then slam them down if they hit you
@@Kagerasimaru Do you use full fractured foe combo (3 quick attacks + strong attack at the end) or do you used short version and repeat it two times. And by the way this guide is very helpful. Iam trying to follow this and it has made using fists quite fun. But i really struggle with zero key combos.
I just do 1 light into the strong. I'm glad it has helped you. There's a lot to this weapon. Sometimes if it doesn't reset zero ki ill add in a rising gale.
Very helpful video! Did you ditch reckless charge tho? Can't see it in your skill customization. Also, I don't understand how to use tiger claws reliably. Like, 80% of the time my character moves to an opposite direction when I press square after connecting archer's impact (ofc I'm locked onto an enemy). Sometimes tiger claws hits once or twice, but most of the time it completely whiffs. Do you have to press any directional inputs? Like forward + triangle idk.
I dont use reckless charge. I've tried it in the past but I prefer stomp. Reckless character also drains too much ki and stomp has a stun property i like. Tigers claw isn't meant to hit a target from my experience when I used to use claws but more for repositioning. Getting behind an enemy, reposition etc.
@@Kagerasimaru ah I see, that's fair. BTW, is there any point in upgrading five dragon kata tree for corruption fists? Or does it not count as elemental damage? Cheers
So fists are amazing at KI break. What else would you say though? Like tonfa of course. But then what?? Imo its hard to tell whats best for breaking ki. And then which moves for that wep are good for ki break. Maybe im missin somethin in that respect.Thanx for your work. Gr8 vids.
As stated in the video your primary ki damage skill is battering ram. The thing that shines with this weapon is you can maintain pressure rather well and efficiently. You have a lot of options when it comes to pressure and how to deal with enemy ki. Being able to chain skills and stance attacks together is alone a huge advantage.
Amazing work! I have a question about "Opportunist Parry + Examples": How can i parry faster? I have tried to parry consecutive attacks and not success =/
Well done. Great skills, great combos. One question pls. How do you manage to parry with opportunist skill quick cumulative attacks. I was trying to parry the long combo of yokai at dojo but no luck. I think this skill has recovery time so you can parry multiple hits but not too quick
Ok so as long as you time it and you get the block portion so taking the stance and making contact with an attack youll want you keep L1 held down ok and then just press triangle for each consecutive attack. I also forgot to show my weapon but the key thing for opportunist is to have the ki recovery perk opportunist. I remember one time I was really really low on ki and I kept successfully getting attacks parried with it and my ki was slowly building up. So just to recap, keep L1 held down for any follow up attacks. You only let go of L1 if you wish to do the follow ups with square after. Hope that helps.
@@Kagerasimaru thanks for your reply. I know how skill works. I can parry single hits or multiple but with a little space between them. I keep holding L1 and press triangle just before attacks. Surely i mess up with timings of quick combos. Good suggestion for ki recovery perk for the skill. I was really impressed with your parry against yasa and his scythe rotation attack. Multiple parry or single L1 triangle? Almost impossible to my eyes
Lastly, which is the perfect dmg finisher after opportunist with the squares follow up? The one with the shoulder attack or the other with both hands? I think the second. Sorry for my English. Btw i recently saw your video from nioh 1 abyss layer 999. I big thumb up from me. No words. Respect
Perfect input is when your character sticks your the left arm only. The ki damage increase is very noticeable. The follow up parry input just need to be done quickly. So stuff like magatsu warrior ones I mashed triangle while holding L1 and then release when I get a feeling he's going to jump and finally I pause for the final hit. Stuff like the Yasha one is actually dont mash that and I counted its 5 hits in quick succession. Appreciate it about abyss. Thank you.
Amazing Video and as usual a bit of laugh at the ending (resting while being shot with cannon lol). Can you please elaborate on Tiger Claws activation/usage - I have the skill but the game description does not make much sense to me, so haven't been using it :(
I use fists so i don't have access to that move but I've played with it and idk it fits more in ninja gaiden than here. It feels out of place for me personally and how fists play. Basically you're using it to get around targets and not so much the hits themselves.
@@Kagerasimaru I agree, they feel more like attack and get past enemies lol. I am using Falcon Claws (Hayabusa Set), but can't seem to use this skill, not sure what I am doing wrong :(
You just archers impact then hit light attack after or you mean dont know how to use it effectively? It's good for chasing down backdashing enemies. Its more useful as a close the gap or reposition tool than an actual attack.
@@Kagerasimaru You will probably laugh at this - I haven't been able to figure out how to use them. I am currently using Falcon Claws from Hayabusa Set, currently running a mix build of Hayabusa set with Moonlit Flutist. So - are you saying it can only be used after Archers Impact? On a side note, I haven't used Battering Ram on Yokai's - as you mentioned in video that it is a ki destroyer - will test it. However, as you also mentioned in the video, I agree kicks are amazing to keep the pressure up and Izuna Drop cancel is pretty cool as well (I use them both as well where I feel like it) - I can imagine how much work would have gone into this video - but its an amazing one bro - keep up the great work :) Lastly, if you get some time (about 2mins) - watch this Rinse and Repeat of Saito Yoshitatsu - I am still playing Dream of the Demon and it was so much fun not letting her one shot me :) ruclips.net/video/kUe4piRYHUk/видео.html
This might be a dumb question but What do you mean when you put zero ki combo on fracture foe and knife hand? are you implying if i were to do this combo on a zero ki human enemy it pressures them into staying zero ki to possibly follow up with a grapple?
Correct. These two are great for looping their out of ki state. Another thing to note is that enemies ki recovery speed levels become drastically decreased when you build confusion making these zero ki combos even more valuable.
This makes me wanna give nioh another chance. But man I did not have a great experience with first game and a lot of the customization stuff was daunting for me. But the action looks so dope lol
Theres a lot to take in with this game and it can be very overwhelming but if you take it slow and build yourself up you will have a better experience.
Hey, any beginner tips for someone who does not have all the skills unlocked? I currently am level 12 or something like that and honestly, I don't seem to have alot of skills to active unbroken (they seem to be mission blocked) and I'm unsure what type of strings I should be using against bosses. I'm currently struggling against Enenra .
@@Kagerasimaru Hey thanks! I basically have Takedown Flying Fist Ocean Zephyr Unbroken Stomp Knifehand Strike Rising Gale Fist of reckoning. I'm wonder if the skills locked behind a mission are dojo missions?
Theyre progression based. Some ask you beat a certain mission, others ask you tobeat a dojo to get them. I'm not a fan of how the skills are unlocked. Idk if you can get battering ram because it's your main ki damage move, however if you don't then probably stick with waiting til an opening, do knifehand strike since it's quick. Also enenra has the pillars that if he attacks them while next to them theres water buckets up there to drop on him reducing his defense and does massive ki damage. Get your burst counters going when you can as they reduce max ki progressively. If this is your first run vs him since you mentioned you're level 12 just stick to basic small strings and wait for a punish. Remember to use your soul cores as they play a high factor in the game and help deal with bosses rather effectively. If he's out of ki you can try and do fists of reckoning but beware he loves to backdash a lot especially when out of ki. Good luck.
@@Kagerasimaru Hey there! Thanks for the tips! I managed to finally beat him by basically just spamming high stance heavy and just switch to low stance whenever they're "raging"
I saw you were able to do a different execution then normal . It’s like you used takedown without having to counter .like you just got them into no stamina and went straight to execution flip. Would be appreciated if you could clear that up for me as I’m going through both opportunist and takedown combos to see how it works
@@Kagerasimaru your telling me how do an execution…. I’m not asking how to cause the execution to happen I’m talking about how you used a different execution to the original. Instead of punching execution he went straight into the takedown execution. Just wondered if there was a way to cause it to happen. Was in dojo yesterday trying to make It proc but I’m not sure if I’m missing a skill or something
@@Kagerasimaru 9:17 as your showing the combo you showed putting him straight into no ki and proceeding to execute but the execute wasn’t the original one
@@Kagerasimaru yes for sure, at the beginning i was just mashing buttons ^^ then i got used to stomp more and think what i am doing.. The only thing that i sometimes do wrong is activating limitless by accident.. Like you know, you fu ed up..
@@Kagerasimaru what do you think about the new skill for the fist that speeds up? Bcs if you start it does take a couple of attacks until you stop.. And you have to remove limitless
I've swapped out limitless. This for me is a clear winner if you can nail the timing down. Limitless does a lot of damage yes but its also super risky to use. This move has armor on it (beyond infinity). You can do a lot with it. Really good for out of ki enemies to.
@@Kagerasimaru you sure bro? Cause the chest piece in the vid seems to have a scarf. Also, the yoriki armor has sleeves from what I’m seeing on the wiki
@@kingcal52 You asked for the armor not the refashion. If you want the refashion its Hayabusa chest piece, gloves onmyo, boots wander shrine maiden, ferryman pants, mask I don't show.
@@Kagerasimaru Thanks for that man. Can’t wait to get it. Replaying through the game right now. The fists you were using were Thunderous fists right? Image is missing from the wiki? Or is what I’m seeing another refashion?
For starters there is no "a must have stat allocation". You need to examine what you're working with. For example, i made my character have more hp, ki recovery, ki in general. Put some points into stamina to carry more stuff. A bit here and there for magic and dex. You really don't have to set points in a specific place. Anything can work. Damage is based on debuffs and buffs more than actual stats.
I’m just getting into this game and reached level 81 today. What is your recommendation as far as leveling path or stats to ensure I can get the best results
For starting out id recommend just pick up whatever weapons and such as you go and use whats strongest and as for character level ill be honest just bump up anything you want. You won't be having a build until you gain a bunch of levels. I generally like getting a bit of everything base stats but then I prioritize heart and courage bc of ki and ki recovery. Also good to get magic and dex to 30 atleast. Stamina is nice for extra weight so you don't go overweight.
I honestly think this guide is hard to follow. I'm trying to learn this weapon but the combos you show off just look like a mess of animations and effects, and the text really doesn't help, especially when I can't see your inputs. It feels like this tutorial is for people who already are good at using fists.
I have no idea what you're asking and where in the video. You can't counter from high stance. If you shift from a skill to mid stance you can chain directly into a counter.
First playthrough just pick up what's strongest and progress. Don't worry about builds because everything will become obsolete after you beat the final boss since you'll get divines then. You really shouldn't be worrying about builds until dream of the demon aka ng++. As for armor try to keep yourself under 70.0 weight.
@@Kagerasimaru i'm already maling mistakes my weight is at 99.7 so i'll better switch into something else. Are the ninjutsu armors a good choice ? Or should i search for a bit heavier ?
For now I would avoid it until you're on ng+++. There you can use a ninjitsu set and pick put armor to match the weight you are comfortable with. Also make sure you bump up stamina a bit for your max equipment weight to increase.
@@Kagerasimaru ok avoid the ninjutsu stuff but what would be better then what i have now wich is 6pc master Archer i use that with electricity Scrolls to do my main damage
You could go for warrior of the west. His set is medium and I believe that one focuses on electricity. Again if this is your first playthrough i wouldn't worry about builds. Really just keep your equipment weight balanced. I personally didn't start making any builds until ng++ I just used whatever to keep my weight at a proper rank I'm comfortable with.
I think the biggest thing is this is the first super fluid and fast weapon we get so it will take some getting used to. Its definitely worth the time imo.
@@Kagerasimaru I've taken the time to learning the weapon somewhat. I just entered DotD for the first time and am starting to really get the weapon obviously not as good as you are at it but good enough that I feel comfortable with the weapon now they really were worth it haha. One question how is your stamina consumption so low? Is that something ethereal gear does or do I unlock that in a later difficulty
When you get to dream of the wise you can get skills on your scrolls for dream of the wise that give you benefits. So my ki consumption is low bc of 2 reasons: 1 this is an endgame character so as you move go the next difficulty your ki consumption goes down passively. It's like a built in thing. 2 ultimate courage (keep this in mind) reduces ki cost by a lot and youll see soon once you get there. Now add AA agility for ultimate stamina for even more ki reduction, glo es that roll melee attack ki consumption is also helpful. If youre not at wise difficulty then just keep these in mind and this is why my ki usage is low.

This is hands down the best tutorial out there breaking down fist and it’s mechanics. Well done! Great job and Thank you!
You're welcome and glad it could help you out ^_^
Great video 3 years later. Thank you. For a weapon as pre-shift and active skill heavy as the fists it would be nice to see an input display and names of active skills or basic attack strings, either on screen or in captions as they happen. I understand it's a lot of extra work to add these but it would be much easier to understand what things you're chaining.
I will keep that in mind going forward. Thank you for the feedback. Im glad it helped in any way :)
Years later we still out here finding this guide and going hard on claws.
Glad it was helpful and I hope you learned a few things to help your game up with the weapon ^_^

You did an excellent job here, bro!
Still room for improvement but will get there. Appreciate it.
@@Kagerasimaru Oh right completely forgot about Ultimate Courage, thank you. Now I just need to get lucky with the scroll drops.
Epic Job Kage! Very well done brother! Great guide and amazing skill showcase!
Thanks bro. It took me a really long time to make.
@@Kagerasimaru It was worth time! ^_^
thank you so much for this vid. i hadnt put much time into the fists, but my scrub ass has been just spamming Spinning Kick > Kick Cycle , praying it works lol. ima try some of this other stuff
You're welcome good luck.
Professionally done, bud! This video has everything going on. Sections, explanations, slowdowns, different enemies, details.. Hence, even something extra at the end ^0^ Impossible is nothing with claws, it seems. Evade everything skilfully, even the biggest of cannonballs!
That finisher on Yasha 😎
Will help a lot of players who want to use this powerful weapon more effectively.
Thanks for all your hard work! 感謝します。
Lots of work but I think it was worth it.
I see that you dont use "reckless
charge + dreadslayer".
Archers Impact + Rising gale .. rinse and repeat
You can use reckless slice with other weopons too like:
sword - Heaven flash
dual swords - winter wind
spear- rainbow ruse or spear flourish
splitstaff - darting cloud
Thanks for all the videos :)
I dont use it bc its super easy, takes too much ki, tbh I prefer stomp due to its instant animation. Fists already do so much and personally I've used reckless charge in the past and its not my type of skill. I have imperious strike on opportunist bc I use it a ton.
Great video!!! Thank you for sharing these tips and tricks. Just a brief question, do you keep agility B or A with a fist weapon?
You're welcome and glad they're helping :) Well I don't have an agility change per weapon. I have an agility I stick with doesn't matter the weapon and now its current AA because of ultimate stamina.
@@Kagerasimaru Thanks again for your words! If I have my first playthrough, then I would stick with agility A with higher toughness? I can't wait to watch more of your upcoming video :)
If you are a beginner id recommend sticking with B agility until you get more comfortable. Once comfortable you can switch to A agility.
This video is basically perfect for the same set up I use on my fists except I prefer beyond infinity over limitless, just because beyond infinity is busted and it’s a great way to attack zero Ki enemies
Yea same, but this was recorded on dlc2 before beyond infinity was a thing.
@@Kagerasimaru oh true makes sense
I'm also a fan of the franchise, as well as, a fan of Ryu's parry in Street Fighter V :)
I fell in love with Nioh's parry system since the beginning but when I realized most of the parry skills could not be used againt yokai, I started searching for other options.
Loved the Yasha Izuna cancel, by the way!
nice pressure combinations!
Thanks bro.
@@Kagerasimaru It's all good man, I just wanted to float some advice out there for further potential videos.

What is your zero ki combos? if you can type it out, great work!
Amazing skills. fists and claws make playing nioh like playing NINJA GAIDEN.
It really does cuz this is essentially how every weapon in that game flows. Nice and smooth.
shit, i thought i know how to play fist until i saw this vid. Btw, how do you block fast with Opportunist, i can't barely block the 2nd hit from human enemies.
All you need to do is time the first one then mash the follow ups.
Thank you for making me understand how fists works
You're very welcome. Enjoy the amazing weapon :)
thank you for making this!
You're welcome.
Really awesome tutorial video!
Thank you and hope it helped. :)
@@Kagerasimaru Oh ok, purity doesn't do that then ?
How much points did you put in strength ?
Nope. I'm not sure somewhere in the mid to upper 40s.
A agility is great and you'll notice your ki feeling much better.
need 0:00. There is also the American version with a broken limb effect, that's nice.
no 0:00 we can‘t select cut chapter,Introduction need add 0:00
Fixed it.
do you not have that tiger claw move? I use this 24/7
it's a drop from ren hayabusa
I use fists so the move isn't accessible to fists. I honestly messed with it and don't need it lol. Plus I've used the move a ton back in ninja gaiden so it isn't new to me.
sick combos
Ty :)
@@Kagerasimaru ah ok, thank you for this. So I'll use the armour that I like with my fists. I have a lot to learn. Thanks again ✌️

@@Kagerasimaru 😊
when you were showing how to block with opportunist and blocking multiple hits really fast in a row...are you pressing L1+square for each hit? I can only block 1st strike but I get hit by everything that follows it.
You L1+ Triangle the first hit, keep block held down and mash triangle for the rest if it's super fast stuff.
Excellent video, thank you !
Just one question : what bonuses are you stacking to get so much anima ? it's almost double what i have lol
You basically put anima on all soul cores, star anima on helmet, anima on accessories, and weapons.
@@Kagerasimaru Is that a star effect on accessories ?
Yes
hey great video, but quick question, and i could just be too new with fists to understand but i thought the takedown skill was a counter skill where you launch them up in the air then slam them down if they hit you
It is but I'm using opportunist.
Which zero key combo did you use after knifehand at 8:30
Fracture foe.
@@Kagerasimaru Thank you very much for replying and such a nice video.
@@PrimeTimeAction Any other questions don't hesitate to ask. You're very welcome ^_^
Cheers
@@I.K485 corruption and purity dont cojnt as an element for some dumb reason.

You basically hold block, time the first one then mash the follow up while having block held down.
opportunist parry look sick, like sekiro
Ya its pretty sick. It also has invincibility frames the entire animation which is amazing.
However, as you also mentioned in the video, I agree kicks are amazing to keep the pressure up and Izuna Drop cancel is pretty cool as well (I use them both as well where I feel like it) - I can imagine how much work would have gone into this video - but its an amazing one bro - keep up the great work :)
Lastly, if you get some time (about 2mins) - watch this Rinse and Repeat of Saito Yoshitatsu - I am still playing Dream of the Demon and it was so much fun not letting her one shot me :)
ruclips.net/video/kUe4piRYHUk/видео.html
If you haven't got the drop from Hayabusa then ofc you can't use it. If you do have it then yes after archers impact do light attacks to chain it.
Hey what armor piece is that on the chest? It looks REALLY cool.
Hayabusa. Dlc2.

Hey, ok for starters do you mind listing what moves you have so then I can give you some advice?
@@Kagerasimaru Hey thanks!
I basically have
Takedown
Flying Fist
Ocean Zephyr
Unbroken
Stomp
Knifehand Strike
Rising Gale
Fist of reckoning.

To do the flip their ki needs to be very low otherwise you won't get the follow up animation.

The fists im using are martial artist fists. I just refashioned to the thunder fists bc they look cool. Np, happy to help.
Don’t know if you’ll respond to this but what should I have for stats for the fists if I’m level 154?
For starters there is no "a must have stat allocation". You need to examine what you're working with. For example, i made my character have more hp, ki recovery, ki in general. Put some points into stamina to carry more stuff. A bit here and there for magic and dex. You really don't have to set points in a specific place. Anything can work. Damage is based on debuffs and buffs more than actual stats.

🙏
It feels like this tutorial is for people who already are good at using fists.
theres literally a section at the start that shows the inputs
I cannot tell what you’re doing at 8:30
I'm keeping him out of ki like the text mentioned. You could use knifehand strike or fracture foe to keep them out of ki.
I realllly wanna play fists but im so bad at them ahaha, main problem is having enough Ki just to attack, but ill get there!
Ultimate courage will help a lot with your ki consumption. Also ki pulse + flux1&2 are essential.
I keep seeing people talk about a skill called dreadslayer on fists but I can't find it
I'm honestly not sure.
It's the triangle skill after reckless charge
Does anyone know where can i find this weapon? Idk if its one level or what
It came with dlc2. You need to have the dlc to have access to the weapon.
@@Kagerasimaru oh fuck
high stance evasion attack counters?
I have no idea what you're asking and where in the video. You can't counter from high stance. If you shift from a skill to mid stance you can chain directly into a counter.
o okay i see it now
Was that what you were referring to I assume?
Beginning tips in early armors ?
Good guide but fuck the complexity of this weapon. Im just gonna stay with glaive
Lol its not that bad. It just requires a bit of time and practice. :p
@@Kagerasimaru its just so complex to me haha. Feels like I should be booting up guilty gear instead of nioh
What is yolo?
You only live once. Bascially don't give a shit and go all out without giving a care.
Nope, I'm too dumb for this. I'm going back to tonfas
how th do we get claws
If you bought dlc2 youll get them if not then you won't.
Does opportunist have high ?
No, its just the frame you parry and get the cling sound.
Fists or Claws?
I prefer fists. The sound effects(fists) just sounds more rewarding like im playing a beat'em up. Claws sounds really annoying to me.
666 likes, what a fortunate number
When 18416606158 amrita is still not enough to level up.. sheesh XD
Actually it's more then enough. This was done before dlc3 and I already hit level cap so it won't show that I am level up ready.
This combo Almost impossible to do on pc. Especially for those who didn't use the controller.
Nothing is impossible. It just requires time. I know people who play kb/m and can do combos just fine. Ite just getting used to it.
