      We will see. I have to say, that one on the horizon was very obliging in it's positioning and it changed direction, turning right round. Plus, it was a lovely clear day, with bright sunshine. I don't have the technology, but it would have been perfect to send a drone all the way out there and back ⛵🚤🛥⛴🛳🚢🔭

    Wonderful mirage! One can see it changing moment by moment. And the passing sailboats and beach sounds are relaxing.

    Nice ships going along the sealine there.but my question is what is the zoom magnification on that camera because you Can toom quiet close To the ship that is far away ?

      The camera does 260 x Zoom and I probably cropped the image in editing at some points to get the right image.

    The lighter color water becomes like a mirror, reflecting the bottom part of the ship like we'd see on a lake with trees or mountains on the shore. I suspect it happens due to a certain angle of light from the viewer's perspective.

      Exactly why it looks like we see ships go over the horizon, it ain’t going over any curve

      Yep. Most people don't notice the water behind the ship, proving the horizon extends way past the obvious water line that they think is the earth curving downward. LOL I would love to show this to teachers so they can start teaching the correct information.

      It actually happens due to the atmospheric conditions and is pretty common over water. Light coming from the sky refracts and hits the camera from the direction of the water, creating the mirror effect. Similar deal to mirages on hot roads looking like puddles of perfectly reflective water.
      Oh, and Earth is not flat

    What is the distance?

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  3 года назад

      Can't help you there. I don't carry a laser distance measuring tool and I don't think they do that sort of distance anyway. You might be able to measure that sort of distance by trigonometry if you have the right equipment. Here are a couple of videos filmed from virtually the same location, I am looking at Eddystone Lighthouse which is very roughly the same distance away and if you read the video description I give you the location ruclips.net/video/3krRkRvm5o8/видео.html ruclips.net/video/zR8O8-sRmZI/видео.html
