The day I learned that vets poop shovel can stop muties, it inspired me. I claimed the strength and certainty of steel and wood. I aspired to the purity of the blessed move set. Your kind claim to your power swords as if it won't activate in time fail you. One day the weapon you call meta will wither and you will beg me to save you from poxies. But I'm already saved. For the poop shovel is karkin' awesome.
couple things I forgot The Antax Combat Axe special also staggers mutants on headshots, and so does a Deimos heavy 2, but I'm not sure the latter is intentional as it's currently extremely broken. Mutants take triple melee damage, I got a bit caught up in behaviours and just forgot to mention that All ogryn blitzes will also one shot the mutie Big thanks to Jasper for being a real gamer Music used : ruclips.net/video/UN-ZSx6TNdg/видео.html
Really good breakdown - thought I knew the mutants pretty well at this point, including how the second grab causes darktide to crash and bluescreens your computer, but there were a lot of details you brought up I never picked up on before. Keep making the emperor proud pal!
Nice video! Muties always seems kinda jank. The ignored walls seem to be walls that can somehow move, so maybe theyre not entirely there, like the train that moves out of the way and is not a wall that way
Also the walls from where the monstrosities spawn also count as non stable. I remember being punched while hitting a wall and really wondered what went wrong.
I never expected a 100% serious Mutant guide but the more people learn how to counter them then maybe the higher chances my Auric Damnation runs won't end with an endless loop of my teammates being tossed around by 5 Mutants during a horde/boss.
Fun thing you can do with the Psyker’s dome shield is that you can trap Mutants in it like a giant bucket! When the mutant is inside the dome they for whatever reason will get instant interrupted whenever they try to charge and just get stuck inside forever
A well-built grenadier gauntlet or kickback can one-shot mutants on headshot. Gauntlet: 25%maniac, 10%specialist, pinpoint targeting. Kickback:25%maniac, 10%specialist, surgical.
1:29, snipers will actually shoot you out of the air after you've been thrown. I think it's based on the angle you get thrown at, since if you're thrown perpendicular to the sniper, they won't lock on fast enough to attempt to fire their shot. I have a clip in which a sniper blasts me out of the air right after a mutant tosses me.
One thing: Zealot's consecration wave only stops mutants if it hits them with the outer part of the wave. If a mutant manages to enter your consecration radius mid pulse you are fucked, unless you serendipitously move out of the way. Edit: May be related to ping.
There is a lot of parts on his video that is straight lies. He is a good guy, but when I learned that he was making a guide for Darktide, I knew he would fuck up since this game requires autism level approach to it (telo literally had to ask people who can read the code of the game to determine the correct info)
Great video! I've been plasying since release and I had no clue that you could stun muties with the dueling swords! Are you planning to make a similiar guide on the other disablers and specials? I would love to see the reason why the trappers either stand still and reload or run to cover after capturing someone
a day ago I was playing my Ogryn and I stopped a mutie charge with a slap to the face. I'm not sure if it was the slap itself that stopped it or something else but it might be worth looking into
@@telopots I wasn't able to recreate it either sadly :( My guess is that it switched aggro right when I hit it. But I'd love to see ObeseFish make a feature
Stealth is consistent but there is a noticeable delay before stuff reaggroes onto someone else. That delay is big even on low ping, so I always thought it was an intentional mechanic to prevent stealth from being a free panic button, but since it doesn't work on 0 ping I don't know anymore. (the chaos spawn has 0 delay even on ping) I forgor the antax, added it in the pinned comment, thanks
I'm unsure if this is a myth and I have not tested this myself, but I have heard that mutants will prioritise throwing you towards fire. That can also mean you get thrown over fire or directly into fire, again not sure if true.
I'm not 100% on this but I could have sworn I had witnessed (often enough to integrate it into my playstyle when others get caught) that a mutant taking enough damage in between the catch and pummel phase will throw the caught player instead. Is there anything to this, or am I misremembering players wailing on the mutant saving me from being pummeled when it may have actually just been me being caught at a wall?
Great guide! Whenever I can I love myself a melee weapon that would OS the mutant on heavy WS (hard for Damnation) the gambit is risky but sooo satisfying when you go "come at me bro" and have his body fly over your head
I assume you would have addressed some bug issue about mutant. When the mutant grabbed you when face a door spawning enemies, it does not count as hard surface and mutant would throw you through the door, resulting you getting trapped behind the door or throw you off bound, worst case scenario. The surge staff rng needs to go fr.
Dude I don't even play the game much and even I knew JFJ was wrong about the mutants. Still great ogryn art on that thumbnail and a cool dude though. The actual worst part is FatShark seeing that and still promoting wrong information. :/
good catch, I'm not sure that's intentional the deimos heavy 2 currently deals ways, way too much stagger (I think it may be coded as explosive) and will send everything flying to the side, including mid overhead crushers
I really like the section on 2:58 , but did you know that you can also stop mutant with thunder hammer special heavy attack? learn something new every day! good video btw, informative and all you need is explained perfectly
I actually can't replicate this, even on no build with awful rolls all powered heavies one shot the mutant on headshot and fail to stun him on a bodyshot do you happen to have a clip of this ?
@@telopots okay, i am sorry, that was actually a joke about heavies @_@ Mostly because i never seen my TH not oneshot mutant with heavy into body on any difficulty, even though mine dont even have perfect rolls. Sorry if i bamboozled you into testing. I assumed damage is enough on a basis like ogryn's rock. (i wonder what happens with mutants that have nurgle blessing from deadly missions tho, if they can have it). also went to test myself and found out i barely don't kill mutant without any mutant boost or any talents, its just slightly not enough on damnation.

Did you know that when a mutie grabs you the first time it only throws you however when it grabs you the second time it takes your wife and kids

This information was quick and concise, amazing guide video! I had no idea how the mutant chose to damage you until I saw this.

Love your guides, theyre always insightful. I forgot the promoted guide was just outright wrong in some cases LMAO
With how much he covered it makes sense to make some errors, specially with how janky Darktide can be

"did you know if the mutie grabs you the first time it only throws you?" 🤣😂
great video. TO the point, all the info, in 5 minutes, fantastic work and resource for players.
Solid info. Now we just need an advanced mutie guide for what to do when there are three of them chain tossing you into bursters.
scream

Sniping is a good job mate
Could you post this clip ? Was this before patch 13 ? This used to be a thing, but it SHOULD be fixed, snipers aren't supposed to do that anymore
@@FlamenYong yeah, dude put me in a montage
@@telopots Yes, the clip is a month or two before Patch 13. If 13 was what fixed it then my info is irrelevant.
Thanks for the heads up!
I like surge staff vs. mutants because it means I can take the gambling feature in-game too as a proper addict

it is probably ping, he can also grab you between pulses
I love JFJ but god when I watched that part of his guide I had to rewind to make sure I heard that piece of misinformation right

I love this xD please do for all elites! Or thats what im hoping you're planning on at least :D
Attention to detail DAMN. I imagined myself making a similar guide with my last 2 ogryn braincells.
Mutie coming, dodge and kill. Whole 3 seconds.
Stopping mutants with a shovel or dueling sword feels so good
1:41, sniper " i may not be able to shoot you, BUT IM DEFINITLY GONNA KICK YOUR ASS."

2:50 stealth is inconsistent in live games (ping issue?) and you get grabbed anyway sometimes

i don't know why but i read the line on the bottom first and went in thinking this was a surge staff guide lol.
Mutants are just silly little guys trying their best.
I'm unsure if this is a myth and I have not tested this myself, but I have heard that mutants will prioritise throwing you towards fire. That can also mean you get thrown over fire or directly into fire, again not sure if true.
Muties get a lot of disrespect but they share the trapper's hidden ability to teleport 3 flamers to their location immediately if you do get caught.
Can you do a similar guide on how to deal with ragers, please? I hate them with a passion 😢

The psyker mk 2 pointy poky sword can also stop muty in it's tracks or mine dose
you forgot to explain why his left hand is bigger than his right one. (remember, don't eat muties)
The psyker dueling sword heavies one shot these guys so ez

good shit my dude
You should also make a guide explaining why snipers are so inconsistent with their sound que.
Literal ping issue. The lower it is, the more broken snipers sound que is. But I may be corrected.
Thats exactly what i was alluding!
also the deimos force sword's 2nd heavy attack can stop a mutant
good catch, I'm not sure that's intentional

Mutants have too much health, they have more health than a crusher or a bastion, I DON'T LIKE THAT.
they take triple melee damage
