I believe the final software on the Oppo will help with these mentioned issues, the front facing camera will do a better job. And I hope the stabilization when zooming will be better on the Oppo.
Samsung looks better on most of the pictures. You have a „golden sample“ :) of the Samsung. I was not able to make one good shot. I will change (warranty) my Ultra to exclude an hardware issue.
Did you get an update yet? They started rolling out update days ago, if you didn't get it yet, wait for a bit and see how it goes after you got it.

It might be because you're in Europe where Samsung don't sell their phones with Snapdragon chips and that makes the cameras worse than their US/Asia equivalents

Audio recording is much better on the oppo and the focus was really impressive too compared to s20, no jittering when changing focus

Very interesting comparison. I like the colors and images on the Oppo much more and despite the yellow tint of the bottles behind the bar, I like the Oppo MUCH more, because Samsung has these night mode outlines on every shot. These are also impossible to get rid off in post.
The autofocus on the Find X2 Pro is really good and far better than the S20 Ultra, but overall video and photo quality result I prefer the S20 Ultra

Specs are everything buddy but that doesn't mean I am praising apple too, they really need to step up on a few things but knowing apple I am pretty sure they will make the features more useful, and stable out of the box

I have the oppo now. Still likes to be a tad too bright at times but it's fun and takes some great pics. You can also get moon shots by exposing correctly. It doesn't try fancy tricks like the Samsung when you zoom in too far.
The colors are INSANE on the s20 ultra, I really love it.
I just got my hands on the Find X2 Pro a few days ago and I'm comparing it with a few other phones.

Good review. The Oppo is out for me now. Honestly, this is a bad time. Oppo is out, S20 Ultra can't focus and has bad mics, iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB+ shortages everywhere due to corona. Not really sure I trust Samsung to be able to fix the Ultra's focusing problem. When Samsung screws up, they seem to really screw up and no workaround can be found. I say this as a current Samsung user.
I'd say the markets where Samsung offers the Snapdragon, one should pick the Samsung and where Samsung offers Exynos, pick Oppo. Also, price matters where in some markets, Oppo is cheaper than Samsung, then you can chose Oppo for better price to performance.
Oh man, I wanted the S20 but in my place it offers Exynos, I got no choice but to choose Oppo Snapdragon
I start thinking that reviewers received amazing Snapdragon poeces with very good camera, because when you buy yourself one you get a crap Exynos with bad camera. 😅 all marketing

@@shiveshsehgal in what way? Would be very interested to know how the exynos has improved. I haven't heard one good thing about it, from battery life to throttling to heating up. It's what has stopped me considering it.
@@themanwithinflatableknees8770 after last update focus issues have been completely solved. Gaming performance has been consistently improved. No heating issues though I am using
45w fast charger. I am loving it.

@@themanwithinflatableknees8770 No. You can check out RUclips . There are many videos which says the latest update bought many good changes. I got mine on ein USA for 1300$ with a Watch , buda and a wireless charger.
Eventhough s20 ultra has more natural results, i still prefer find x 2 pro in video recording cause of it's stability, fast and smooth focus transition...but i have to chose ofc i go for Samsung :')
I believe it is fair to wait for the Official launch of the Oppo Find X2 Pro and the final software on it as well.
Also I want to see if any of the mobile carriers will offer it on a contract and not the last - the official price of the Oppo.
Samsung S20 Ultra already can be found on ebay for around £1100 (128 GB).

The Ultra is a big, heavy, ugly phone. I felt like I was holding a tablet. The haptics and audio are OK but I've heard Oppo's are better. Plus that Ultra screen that can't do 1440p and 120hz at the same time.

The technology to focus faster is called dual pixel auto focus and its a pretty old technology. And Galaxy S7 is the first phone with Dual Pixel autofocus.!

@@Nadheem721 IMO it has more to do with the sensor design rather than the size itself. S20 Ultra's sensor does not support Dual Pixel AF on hardware level.

i reallty think thath the sound from the start of the video is reversed (when you say that it comes from x2 it actually comes from s20 ultra and viceversa)

Honestly just can't look a t a phone image now after buying a mirrorless camera. Phones do lots of things good. A dedicated camera outshines them in pgotography
You realize those are absolutely different devices, that only have one thing in common: the principle of image-capturing. After that you can't compare them at all

Does the oppo have dual pixel focusing? Focused much faster yet still a pretty high megapixel sensor
Yes it does
It has a new technology called Omnidirectional PDAF, that focuses faster in both daylight and extreme lowlight. This was made possible because of the Quad Bayer setup the sensor utilises.
The focus speed was unreal on the oppo. I did not have time to compare the time it takes to focus cause it was just instant on the oppo.

I think the OPPO is a good value for money in the middle range offer in the mobile market. But to fight in the top of the line combat, isn't quite ready... Yet....they are much close to the competition, but not right there....if it was a 1000 pounds phone, it would be a good idea...better than the 1200 mark...

From my eyes, i like s20 ultra
The OPPO video sounds quality was so much better in the opening sequence.
Hope you did glue both cellphones together to something for the motion&focus test
Samsung takes better videos but is slower at refocusing, and does so not nearly as smoothly as the Oppo (1:34). When zoomed in its more focused, and better stabilised (2:15), and turning the camera is smoother also (1:45). However at 2:22 the "TOR" sign is much clearer on the Oppo.
Oppo takes better photographs, with more realistic (from what I can tell) colours and detail in darker areas until about 10x (4:40) where they're about equal but Samsung has greater detail in textures, and then at 30x where Samsung starts to shine further with more clarity.
At 4:58 the Red flowers on the left are faaaaaar better on the Oppo than the Samsung, you can actually see the flowers start and end at lot more distinctly. 5:26 the horizontal line below "Collection Time" isn't as good as it is on the Samsung and the "halo/glowing" effect (white halo effect around the text, etc) is more distinct than the Samsung too.
In the following image, the horizontal line is now better on the Oppo and the Samsung now has 'corners' show up around the "9.00am" and the text below it is noticeably thinner though the halo effect is lessened and the blacks are darker.
6:10 the shirt colours are different, almost black and dark green, and the area at the bottom of the brow has more detail with the bumps in the Samsung photo, but the Oppo has some more rounded features and the colours look brighter, and nicer. 6:16 Oppo looks more washed out with the shirt, and Samsung has more natural skin tones.
6:20 check out the arm hair difference and at 6:30, eye brow hair. 6:38 the black border around the brown border around the "CAFE NERO" is missing on the Samsung, and its text colours more blurred while the blue is different across both cups. The Oppo's lid is sharper. Oddly enough, the white 'smudge' above "The" is black on the Oppo. They look like 2 cups made at different factories.
7:34 "London" is sharper on the Oppo while "York" is unintelligible and "Paris" is a different colour on each photo. New York and Paris go from white text, to grey text with white halo. NY skyline and Eiffel Tower is more visible on Samsung. The potted plant on the left shelf is sharper on the Samsung (reverse of the previous plant situation), and the rug below the desk and the cap's outline are sharper on the Oppo. 7:37 Oppo displays the dust on the bulb case more clearly.
Samsung just needs to get the focus issues in check and allow 120hz QHD as choice and I would look to grab, but I do want to see if it is worth it over the Oneplus pro 8 based on that having many of the same features for far less money.

SURPRISINGLY, OPPO FIND X2 PRO HAS MORE OF A RAW VIDEO LOOK WHICH IS GOOD FOR EDITING LATER.
I have a question I still haven't seen a comment or answer to. The p30 and s20 ultra has periscope 4/5 x zoom, while the Mi 10 pro also has a 5x zoom (10x hybrid), but without using periscope. And the pictures looks just as good. Why bother with the periscope zoom lens when you can achive the same without the periscope lens? The Mi 10 pro even looks better in its 5x zoom. What are really the advantages if there is any to using a periscope zoom over the mi 10 pro zoom lens?
I think there should be more comparison and reviews on which phones took the most natural, true to the scene pictures. I know a lot of phones do take stunning pics but most of the time, its so processed its nothing like the real thing. It looks good on photo and screen but its not real.

Both have different color characteristics in photography. I think it's just a matter of taste, the color produced by Samsung is warmer. While the colors produced by Oppo is cooler. But I prefer Oppo's results. For videography I prefer the one produced by Samsung.
