Anyone that's ever experienced it knows that jet lag is such a drag. It occurs when you travel quickly across time zones and your body's natural rhythm gets thrown out of sync. While it usually only lasts a day or so, it can really put a damper on your travels - especially if you're trying to enjoy a relaxing vacation or your on an important business trip.
Your circadian rhythm, also known as your internal clock, regulates your sleep and wake times. If your internal clock gets jostled by switching time zones quickly and experiencing drastic changes to the amount of light you are exposed to at various hours of the day, you might also experience changes to your body temperate, mood, and hormones.
Symptoms of jet lag can include fatigue, insomnia, headache, difficulty concentrating, 'brain fog', gastrointestinal distress, and lack of appetite. Jet lag is also known to always be worse when you travel west to east.
Give it enough time and your body will naturally adjust to its new time zone, but to hasten the process, there are a few things you can try to get yourself to adjust to a new schedule more quickly and with far fewer jet lag symptoms. Join us as we discuss a few simple techniques and tips that will help you get over that nasty jet lag hump with quickness.

I’m from Idaho , US. I went to Germany and it hit me HARD. I couldn’t sleep on the plane and as soon as I got to my uncles house in Germany I passed out for a few hours but I aunt woke me up so I wouldn’t sleep all day. Didn’t really get good sleep the week I was there. Hoping I don’t get hit as hard when I go in July.

Good video. I did find it the more I travelled the worse the jet-lag. I used to do Europe to Seychelles to California often, which messed me up. But i used to take a nap in the afternoon flying West and set up an alarm to wake me up after a couple of hours. I had less trouble flying back East. I haven't been to the US in a while but I'll be travelling to Hawaii in a month. I downloaded an app, hopefully it will help with the 11 hour time difference. I will try with a nap again with coffee and melatonin at hand. See how it goes. I will probably get used to it in 2 weeks and then have to return again.
