I have been saying this for years ever since playing a high level Sean weekly since like 2010. Anyone playing Hadou-Burst isn’t unlocking Sean’s potential. Shoryu-Cannon is terrifying. It is 1 frame invincible, and will win out against most reversals and supers, leads to 35% damage and oki for a potential 50/50 into another super. What does Super Art 1 get you aside from a quick filling three bars? You land it and the opponent is on the other side of the screen, exactly where you DON’T want them as Sean. Sean should be played like Chun. Both have no great combo potential in neutral, and although Sean’s normals are nowhere near Chun’s they are still not bad aside from say his sweep. Yes they are worse than other shotos but they still work and as long as you don’t rely on his stupid gimmicky and unsafe specials you will be totally fine as SA2 Sean. He has to gamble more than others but short short super and UOH super are legit threats especially with SA2. If Sean is played right you have to get your damage in before he gets a bar because once he does the whole momentum of the match changes. SA2 Sean is highly slept on and there is NO WAY he is worse than Twelve.
I agree, the take that Sean is the worst in the game has always been so confusing to me. Like you said Sean has worse versions of other shoto normals, except close standing roundhouse, but he actually gets stuff off them unlike Twelve. He actually has some form of damage too. Twelve just does not get any of that damage at all.
I am just wondering, what is your thoughts on pachikasu sean? Nothing against your viewpoint cuz i actually would prefer sa2 too. Pachi uses sa1 sean mostly
@@anthonynguyen5464 he’s mainly who I was referring to. He’s crazy good but is limiting his options by choosing SA1. I’m sure because there hasn’t been a ton of Sean representation competitively people are following his lead which is erasing his damage, oki and reversal options.

easier to hit confirm and u get 3 of them...also beats firebals if it isnt ex
A few reasons, it's cheap, stacks the most EXes out of Sean's SAs, easily confirmable (good range), doesn't lose hits after a DP like the other two and deals a bit of stun instead of 0 like with Shoryu-canon.
^ Plus Sean needs meter to make his specials actually safe/useful, Cannon and Hyper Tornado are considered pretty alright too, but they’re not as accessible as Hado Burst

I want to see you face Akuma or Urien players. 😍
