You could figure it out early if you watch the Kabukicho live cam often. The BBQ shop which you could see in the first live cam was recently rebuilt, but it still was the same BBQ shop in most of this videos here (in some he walks past it), even with the dates in his video titles. This videos are not recent, and this video here is not from today or yesterday, its all old stuff and he just makes money with it.
Finally...street is the street. Can be cleaner or dirtier, in a small town or in a huge city like Tokyo...some things never change...
