Lol we just got a dishwasher after 6 years without. Yes to audiobooks and podcasts. I still hand wash just to take time to listen to what I want with my ear buds. Once you get used to it, it does get easier and life skills for kids to help wash their dishes after meals 😂
Yes, I completely agree about the life skills! My mom recently suggested the kids should wash and while I do eventually want to do that, I’m not ready to use the dishes or silverware they were responsible for washing. 🤣🤣🤣 We will get there, though!
My family is planning on launching our adventure life this summer! I cant wait to run into on the road. Every video of you I've watched, you say something that is exactly something I would say. We have 5 children in a 4 bedroom house... watching a movie, all of us could be found on 1 couch! Lol we love to all be together and our bedrooms are mostly empty all day, even our teenagers would rather be with the family than alone. Kids are 17, 13, 8, 8, and 2 years old.
I love this!!!! We would love to run into you! We've run into a few other full-time families and it's been the best. It's like you become immediate friends over this shared experience and lifestyle! Plus, we've found that in general, campers are a friendly and helpful bunch of people! I'm so excited for you! We are loving this adventure and I hope you find you love it as well!
@@livingthegandeelife5565 I sure will feel like that if I was a little kid as well , I like everything about it. I show the video to my kid and he was like I have a lot of good things I can say about living in an RV. He loves the idea😍 I think showing him the video is getting that idea more and more in his head😂 .
We would totally love that! How old are your kids!? I know mine are always looking for new friends at the campground! Good luck finding a camper for your family! There wasn't a "perfect" camper that fit every one of our needs, but this one was about as close as we could find!
Is there room in your rv for a stackable or side by side washer and dryer? I’m wondering if the ledge above the hookups can be removed to allow for stackable.
I’m not sure what’s behind the ledge. But I don’t think that you could fit the stackable ones with the ledge. They make an all in one washer and dryer combo machine. I think that’s wheat we are leaning towards. Other models have room for the stackable machines, though. For example the 4007 model has room for stackable units in the master closet.
I Hattte the video games and screens but its so much in the world today it's too hard to keep them away from them and it's not fair when us parents and older siblings in public school are also on screens .
Yes, they are not my favorite, either. It's definitely a struggle when they enjoy them so much and it's so prevalent. We take regular electronic device breaks. Sometimes for a week or two at a time. But when they're allowed to play them, they know it's for a short time after all their other work is finished. Sometimes the resets and removing them for 2 weeks is just the reset they need to realize they can find other things to entertain them. They regain their creativity and drastically quit whining and bickering about all things electronics!
Hookups , internet and where do you stay when you don't want to be traveling all the time and two of my kids are from my first marriage so trying to figure out all the ins and outs of how it would work for our unique situation .
So most campgrounds have full-hookups - electric, water, and sewer hookups. Some even have cable and internet hookups that you can pay for separately. State and national parks may only have electric and maybe water. But few have sewer hookups. They often will have dump stations as you leave the park so you can dump your rig of all the unmentionables! :). But since you are the one traveling you can make sure that each campsite meets as many of the needs you require. For example, we require 50amp full hookups. Since we stay in locations longer, we don't want to have to leave to dump our tanks or fill up our fresh water tank for more water. As far as internet goes, you can find campgrounds that provide it as an added utility expense. Many campers will have 1-2 different hotspots or internet modems from 2 different providers to help fill in any gaps they might come across as they travel. Because we don't work remotely, we just rely on our hotspots and the campground internet at this point. It has been sufficient for our needs! When we don't want to travel we can always go back to our homebase and park our rig and stay there. However, many campsites can offer long-term parking. For example, we have been staying at the same campground for 13 weeks (the length of my husband's current contract.)
Honestly, if your husband's employer has no restraints on his location, that would be the perfect situation for full-time travel! Both my husband and I wish that he had a remote job that allowed him to travel more freely, rather than being limited to a contract with a hospital for 8-13 weeks at a time. You would definitely want to make sure you found a rig that would provide him with a separate work space. You would also need to make sure you were set up properly with internet capabilities. But honestly, I don't notice many major differences in our day-to-day lifestyle. They are minor changes - like timing showers so we all can get some hot water, storage/space shortages, laundry, etc. When you already homeschool and are used to having your kids with you 24/7, it's not much different. You're just doing it in a smaller space. And when things get crazy, I send them outside (hello, nice weather) or I put on a movie (in cases of bad weather!) We love being able to explore new areas, try new things, eat new foods, etc. It's been an amazing adventures so far! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask away. I will help any way I can!
Mommas sanity is HUGE!!!! NEVER apologize!
Oh yes! I'm always reminded of the saying, "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!!" ;)

Miss you guys!
We miss you too!!!! 😘😘
Looks like you guys are really going to have lots of fun , love the RV looks beautiful. Blessings!
Thank you! So far the kids keep saying that even though we are doing school, it still feels like vacation. So I feel like that’s a win!

We are looking into living full time in the same exact “kid hauler”, if we do we should meet up. I have 4 kids as well. 😍

Any on advice to do full time when someone's husband works fulltime at home now with covid ?
