I don't think Sony have to market their product aggressively... Thing is if You know what it is capable of and You need that specific options it delivers You will buy it...
No one else is making stuff like Sony does. Fact. I know it is niche product up to every tiniest capacitator in it. And that is the selling point for them. Professionals, who needs this potential will get this phone. Don't think someone will buy it cause it looks cool or has "Pro" in its name.

@@erriezzanslounge1380 Chinese smartphones are so cheap because they sell incredible amounts of them. Smartphones like this will not sell in high quantities. Specialized gear will always be more expensive than mainstream. Huawei for example sells folding phones for 3k$.

I know the normal version is precalibrated but when the calibration is done on massive production doesn't really have the same accuracy compared to phone by phone calibration like on the Xperia Pro

I've been using all xperia's 1 since the first and I still have the mark 1 and is still better then any midrange you find available the mark 2 got some photo software and better camera then the first this mark 3 is good but the pro model is just insane ..but my day to day I use mark 3 just great ...I've been a Sony phone since z1 z2 z3 then I never had one Couz the z4 was horrible . So got back in 2019 to the mark 1 and got hooked it gets better with time all of them.... Still recommending..

After resent update (android 11) both xperia 1ii and 5ii and probably 1ii pro they all shot 4k@120fps with hdr in cinema pro app just like sony aiii !!

I still have all my Sony 4K screen phones, using XZPremium right now, and yes it still full-day battery with work- private emails, youtube, gaming, texting, and awesome picture taking. 843ppi there is no other phone with pixel density like this, period.

That's the "Pro" what actually make to feel us "Pro". Expensive but this device deserve this price.
I was a “sony” guy. Things about my sony phone that i dont like is that it always gets hot even when you only open apps that don’t require high graphics or heavy processing. I dont know about their latest phones, but many of my friends were using various Xperia models back in the days told me that they also had thermal issue with their phones. I love the camera, and the speaker sounds really good. Just recently i changed my phone, bought one another brand, not a sony phone absolutely. Sony always come up with new technology and it always have new awesome features, but one thing always bother me from getting their latest phone is because of thermal issue. Tbh, sometimes it gets hot even when im not using it, closed all apps and tried everything like disabling background apps processing, and restarted my phone, but still it gets warm & hot. Usually it doesn’t happen but sometimes when it happens, the battery also draining so fast. I checked everything from viruses, any hidden program running, and even disabling internet connection, but still couldn’t find the cause. Maybe just the phone’s software has problems. When your phone gets hot, it affects battery lifespan.

Sony has always done the most to stick out since the Xperia Z5 Premium. Glad their efforts are getting more noticed and they still aim to deliver to their most loyal consumers.

Get an old LG G7 ThinQ it's around 150-250$ it has Snapdragon 845 quad 4 x 2.8 Ghz & 4x1
7 64gb internal expandable, 4 gb ram 2K resolution display , can record 4k 60fps so yeah there is an cheap alternativ been using it for almost 2 years.

If this had a 120hz display. I would get this in a heartbeat. And I’ve been an iOS user since ever. Man this phone is amazing. But that price tag, it needs to have a 120hz display.
Xperia 5 ii (regular phone) has 120hz 1080p and cheaper, but if you want 4k 120hz, SD856 still cant do that.
Cmiw, sd888 can do 2k 120hz

I like using a phone as a screen because SCREEN RECORDING is available either built in or via app. You don't have to use a separate camera to record a screen, which is OK, but to have more of an all-in-one.

Broke people stay saying how they can't afford things.
As a "stills" photographer with a couple of Sony Cameras, I think they would make a killing making a less expensive non-connected, non-phone, Xperia Pro Monitor (only) with all of the camera related features minus any phone like features. You would still have the on board camera stuff, plus the 4K monitor capabilities along with storage which can me downloaded after the fact.
I had one of the 1st Xperia Sony phone it was waterproof real waterproof and it was an awesome phone and wonderful camera I can’t imagine what this one do,you can even use this phone as a remote control for your play station

This is your content, explaining why a pro would want a specific product so a regular consumer doesn’t waste their money but you fed EVERYONE’S interest in the process
As a phone this is very expensive. As an external 4K camera monitor with recording and 5G connectivity, it is actually REALLY Cheap.
I just wish it used 2x USB-C for video in+charging. Ideally i would like a Sony A7IV with a combination port power in+video out over USB-C to use with a camera. Then you plug in your phone to a charger, plug the phone into the camera, and the charger/battery bank lets the phone/camera run longer
Now, what i'm hoping for is an 'anamorphic' mode for HDMI where you can get a general idea what the anamorphic shot will look like on that 21:9 screen
I have the Xperia 1 and wish the USB-C would work for video in/out. Side note, the Xperia 1(gen1) has a power button seperate from the fingerprint reader, however my old Xperia Z5 was set up in the same way with the power button+fingerprint reader
@@denvera1g1 the separation of fps and power button is due to some "legal issues" in the uses... apparently, they knew how bad rear fps is... at least for xperia users... i also have z5 premium... and ever since, sony uses side mounted fps - x, x performance, xz, xzs, xz premium, xz1, xz1 compact but are disabled in the uses... that "legal issue" is already lifted... and other manufacturers are following suit...
though fps on z5 premium and 1ii works differently, the latter doesnt need a press to unlock...

You forgot to mention the color aspect.
The display is manually calibrated one by one before shipping so that the colors will be as close as possible to sony's master monitor (which is an award winning another "pro" product, costs like $30,000).

Hook to your game controller and watch the controller, phone, and don't forget bandwidth. Or focus bandwidth to less eye finger interaction, maybe more camera gesture data to make it easy for long term viability
