Your reviews of this trimmer, plus my own research, is why I bought one a few months ago...and the hedge trimmer attachment...and the pole saw attachment. Great recommendation, this thing is awesome. For my mid-sized yard with a pond bank and full surround vinyl fencing, it's the perfect machine. The 4.0 Ah battery gives me 2 complete trimming and cutting sessions, each on HI setting lasting around 1 to 1.5 hours. Great reviews and great videos!!!

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

I was pretty skeptical about electrics as well. But my brother let me use his 40v Ryobi string trimmer and that thing gets it done. I was able to do an entire overgrown fence line what was several hundred feet long with it. and it was plowing through some really large stuff, too.

I’ve owned Stihl trimmers, but my son also has the 40V Ryobi. I’ve found myself borrowing his more and more because it gets the job done, is much lighter, and faster to use. I’ve only used it for standard trimming, but still rely of the stihl for edging the sidewalks. I’m very impressed with the Ryobi.

@@flyjarrett the main advantage over the gas is that the electric trimmer starts with the press of a button meanwhile with the gas sometimes by the time the machine decides it is gonna start am already tired.

I have been looking out for a deal on this trimmer for over a year. Walmart finally dripped the price 20 bucks, so I bought one. I really like it! Plenty of power and the speed control is good. I like to spin it slower to reduce the stuff flying into my legs, but it goes plenty fast on full tilt. One unexpected thing I really like is that it works with my Ryobi edger attachment and works way better than the Ryobi Gas motor. The reason is the clutch boggs down the edger on the gas setup, but electric is power for days and no clutch getting in the way. It edges so much better!

I got the 80 volt Kobalt because you can change out the bottom for other attachments that I had from prior gas trimmers. The thing is a beast and you never have to deal with starting issues. If there was one issue is that you might have to carry a spare battery or 2 if you are going a long distance away, but it usually works out for me when the battery dies (30 mins of working it) because I get to cool down and then just get another battery. They also charge up super fast.

I would naturally think power wouldn't be an issue. Electric motors in any other application are known for high torque numbers.
For my own use, my string trimmer can last at least three weeks on one charge. Same with my mower's battery. I wasn't brave enough to try them a fourth week on that one charge.

Thanks for the feedback. If you ever feel lucky let me know how that 4th week turns out! :D

Had one same as this one.
It lasted 30 seconds. The motor smoked and that was it.

I bought this trimmer with the edger attachment I absolutely love it. A completely better upgrade from my worx string trimmer, it kept bogging out when used.

Nice. I have Milwaukee's electric trimmer, and it's also very impressive.

I bought the Hyper Tough trimmer at walmart last night since it was on rollback and man that thing could go. Suprisingly the battery we got was fully charged. I never heard of a company shipping out fully charged batteries.

I had bought the 20v Hart 10 inch string trimmer recently and so far so good it’s done everything thing that I need it to I just got tired of messing around with gas string trimmers all the time and doing maintenance I had a Husqvarna gas string trimmer and that thing was a pain in the ass to start it was always flooding anymore it is better to just go with battery operated lawn equipment especially chainsaw’s string trimmers leaf blowers etc so much easier to use.

Nice I wish I would of got the 40v string trimmer instead of the 20v trimmer and blower, they got me with the 2 batteries in the 20v package but at least I have more 20v batteries for my hart drills and saw

If you do the lawn every week you should be fine with the 20 volt (I am just guessing, though!) :D
