Riccardo Chailly at Sergei Rachmaninoff's Villa Senar

In 2019, Riccardo Chailly, Music Director of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, visited Sergei Rachmaninoff's Lucerne home, the Villa Senar. A few weeks later, Chailly opened the Summer Festival 2019 of Lucerne Festival with Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3, the Vocalise, and the Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 44.
"When I visited Villa Senar, obviously it was a deep emotion for me to start with. To see his piano where legendary pianists - not only the great composer - sat for so many hours and so many years was of course very meaningful to me."
