I have they work just fine. My Curados and Chronarchs get about a minute and half of free spool. The casting distance comes from the rod, the weight, type of drag, experience so on and so on. I will never go back to standard bearings. Corrosion resistant and less friction and effort.
Hey THE REEL TEST!! I like your comparing video from JP. Even japanese don't make this kind deep video which shows how much tuning parts makes the difference .It's nice and helpful .So keep going men !! thx
Old video but i really enjoy your analysis. In Oz reels are expensive and limited range so to see the vast options you test is mind blowing. What could you recommend for Curado 70 to upgrade to bfs?
Привет Сделай тесты стандартных против гибридных подшипников зимой например при температуре 0С°. Думаю с понижением температуры разница в дистанции будет расти.
So if your comparing the two, how come you set the dial at 3 for stock and 4 for the ceramic, you’ve already gave an advantage to the stock bearings from the get go.
You should have kept the spool tension and the brake the same on both bearings so that watching the first 5 minutes of your video wasn't a waste of time. Decreasing the spool tension would have made the original bearings cast just as far. To assume better bearings requires less spool tension is the opposite of the way I would adjust a casting reel.
it will be interesting because in your tests, the metanium mgl cast in the 150 ish feet area, the chronarch mgl cast mid 140'. Both have same breaking system, similar size spools, micro gearing. Not sure why Met Mgl still cast further than Chron MGL but I would expect the Curado K to be in the area of the 2 even with the slightly deeper spool.
Well Jimbo all valid questions. I personally would prefer to do a head to head on the same day so the numbers are more of a reference. Keep in mind when filled with line the Met spool would weight alot less than the Chronarch spool.. but we are going to find out as im planning and all MGL cast off sometime soon, if I dont get a heat stroke lol
Since we are talking about ball bearings here, there is one other test you must do. Did you hear about 13 Fishing Concept Z's zero ball bearing technology? They claim it will outcast any ball bearing reels out there. The reel won't be in the shops until Feb though as they say.
I can't wait to see the review on this reel. Everyone is champing at the bit to get their hands on the reel to review it. If is true they are selling this polymer bearing for other reels as well, then there has to be an element of truth in its performance.
yes i am wondering if these ball-less bearings will give longer casts in other reels too. If so then you dont really need the Concept Z reel just these bearings. I haven't heard about the breaking is in the Concept Z. Still the CuradoK got best freshwater reel over it.
Its going to be the standard banax/13 fishing centrifugal brakes. I may have misspoke about the ball less bearings being available for other brands though. Will have to wait and see.
I dont think you mispoke I saw on an Icast video they did say they will have the bearings for other reels as well. I just dont know if these are more of a corrosion free saltwater benefit more than casting distance right now.
Can you test ceramic bearings from China vs. Boca bearings. Please and thanks!

Thanks for the support!
It might be worth noting that most of the less expensive (up to most of the Curado line) low profile reels all use the same bearings, the BNT 4343.

Please, make a on the water test with the curado 70...and use one of that line counters that hangs at the Rod. (Sorry for bad english)
Have you ever done a Curado 70 vs Scorpin 70 video? Which would you buy if you had to choose? Thanks in advance.
Scorpion because it has the better bearings. Other than that they are the same
The scorpion has more drag as well
Compare daiwa tatula sv with scorpion 70 please
The Orange Bearing just very noisy ~ 🤣🤣
Can you do ceramic bearing test to kastking spartacus maximus.
Can u use 13 in saltwater

Does the average distance change as you go up in weight? 3/8 oz or better.
good question, ill test that theory soon as ill be doing some bearing tests again
Where can I order?
Did you run the Boca's dry lube or add some thin oil to them???
these are not Bocas, and I ran them straight out of the packaging as is.
You are not supposed to add oil to ceramic bearings.
William Bannister u can I hear it makes them spin more quietly
Is the the curado 70 a all around reel? Or is it for specifics type of fishing? Looking at this and curado k
its for lighter finesse style baits, has a really shallow spool
THE REEL TEST what lure ratings are finesse??
usually 1/4 oz and below

i set the brakes to the lowest I can, and for the ceramic it required a higher setting.
What line is on the Curado?
cheap bass pro line

Are there going to be any curado k videos?
A TON! lol.. keep your eyes out on Monday night or Tuesday :)

Boca run real well as long as the orange seals dont rub against the inner bearing race

Yes I have, and Im going to get one. They are supposed to be also selling the bearings for other reels Ive read.

Boca are one of the worse ceramic bearing there is! The outer rim is heavy the hedgehog are way better! ZPI are really good also!
