David Bergeaud will always be one of the most under-recognized and under-appreciated composers in all of human history. This isn't just some of the best video game music of all time, it's some of the best music humanity has and will ever produce and could ever possibly experience.
"Attention heroes, we have detected a large spike of radiation in the containment quarters. If you have been in contact with or reside next to Uranium Man; you will die shortly."
"Welcome hero, to your new living quarters. Your luxury containment suite is equipped with all you will need as a contestant on DreadZone. Please make yourself comfortable. You'll most likely be spending the rest of your life here." Those words are dark. The people who are taken here never leave for any reason, even if they do happen to win all the tournaments (as shown after you beat Ace). Vox is seriously twisted.
+Tʜᴇ Gᴀᴍᴇ Cʜᴀɴɢᴇʀ The darker tone was unexpected but it worked well and is a game I'm very fond of. I agree it deserves just as much recognition as it's predecessors.
I honestly say that #3 had the better story progression and traditional level system R&C is known for, while #4 (this one) has better combat and a more fleshed out arena system. #3 is for turning giant amoebas into demonic ducks, #4 is for riding in a giant walking turret with girders for legs. Both are extremely enjoyable in their own way, #1 was new and unpolished, #2 tried new things, #3 perfected those things, #4 went in a different direction, taking elements from the previous ones and expanding them into the whole game. (The PSP and PS3 games are heresy.)
I would say my biggest problem with deadlocked is the length of the game, compared to the other games, the campaign was relatively short and we had fewer weapons. But other than that, this game is the best out of the Ps2 Era
Always found this theme to sound atmospherically depressing, while also feeling a sense of strength. Don't know how to really explain it lol. God this game is something else, I will treasure it forever.
The music litterally screams at your face "You were bough here as a prisoner, things are much darker than outside, many heroes have died here, and so will you. There is no hope or any fortune, the situation is hopeless. This place has no mercy, if you die, you die."
Ratchet and Clank was always a slightly-dark series. The first game has a corrupt businessman who came out with a scheme to scam his own species; The second game has murderous animals marketed as cute pets; The third game there is an attempt to eliminate all organic life, and in this game you were kidnapped and enslaved as a gladiator for the entertainment of all. The attempt to make something both dystopian and appeal to children, you see, is not something that every developer, nor writer, can do. Actually, as a kid the games introduced me to sadness and bitterness, even though they were some of my favourites on the PS2.
I agree with what one other comment said: I like the difference between this soundtrack and That of the other ratchet and clank games, how it uses all of this electronic sound instead of orchestral mixed in with electronic.
I love how we can hear the same sample used for Spyro ' Aquaria's theme here. Makes me feel even more nostalgic, seeing as Insomniac gave us Spyro before Ratchet and Clank
Getting this game off amazon, should be sent to me in a few days. Cant wait for the nostalgia! I can't remember what happened to this game, same with Jak 3. Some of the best games i've ever played, by far.
NOSTALGIA!!!!! This is one of 2 ratchet and clank games I have played (the other being tools of destruction) this is one game I would love to play again
_Now that you've successfully passed the training course, you have your own living quarters constantly monitored by Dreadzone's security and a protective field to prevent you from falling into space or if you try to escape. There will be a vendor, a command center and a special area for your new battle bots that belonged to a previous contestant that won't be needing them anymore. Check out the music from Crusader No Remorse/No Regret (I have a full Playlist on here), as well as the original Deus Ex, Hitman Codename 47, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Vampire Bloodlines, and System Shock 2. Those should all be up your alley ;) Not sure what this specific genre is but it has a bit of electro Industrial for sure.
Anyone else always pause near the ship to go into first-person and look at the twinkling stars and the galaxy (speaking of which, is it Polaris? The rest of Solana?)?
People would probably complain. When Deadlocked released it was frowned upon for its dark themes and edgy commentary. Insomniac has even said they look back on Deadlocked and see it as the black sheep of the franchise. Which is unfortunate. Deadlocked is S tier imo and the last Ratchet and Clank game that felt like Ratchet and Clank in terms of story and character.
@@JK-nj3bt gameplay wise definitely yes, but the & Future trilogy has the best overall story, and great character development as well as the lore expansion......that's I feel like All 4 One was the last decent Ratchet and Clank game, for it feels like the it's the last time that the team at Insomniac actually cared and put passion on the franchise; Full Frontal Assault feels like a fan project, Into the Nexus feels just like fanservice for the Future trilogy fans; but at least they are still better than the Ratchet and Clank game on the PS4, which while despite looking amazing, is the easiest and most boring game they made so far and they only made it to promote the terrible movie adaptation (but at least it's better than the latter). I'm not looking forward to the new game on the PS5, anything that they showed wowed me, and it feels like they are just making it for the sake of money as well as to promote a console that I refuse to buy until they fix a good amount of problems with it.

most atmospheric theme, sets tone of despair
Or you could say... DREAD.
For me it sounds like a watching stars at night and chilling between all the roughness.
Atmosphere of ps2

Such a furious feeling of all might in this game, and still a real difficulty

The sound of exploring new worlds with so much to learn in your own, this is a timeless masterpiece.

I’m mean that’s not true.

It's the shadow sector of the Solana galaxy
