Menalon Trail fast crossing

A quick crossing of the 75km-long Menalon Trail route, Arcadia, Peloloponnese.
The AnaDigit team (Triantafyllos Adamakopoulos & Marsia Tzavara) decided to start from Lagadia and cross the route in the "reverse" direction (most hikers start form Stemnitsa). Lagadia was reached by bus (KTEL Arkadias) in late noon. We crossed the 15km distance to Valtesiniko in the afternoon and set up our MSR Hubba-Hubba tent near Valtesiniko majestic school building. We have been surprised by the innovative plates of Vassilikos restaurant.
Next day we hiked to Magouliana and Nymfasia, where we arrived early enough to continue to Vytina. A great dinner in "Kokkina Pitharia" summarized a long day (22 km). We camped near the city.
After a robust breakfast, we went through the Mylaon valley up to Elati and then, under light rain, we continued to Zygovisti (21km), where we offered ourselves a dinner in the Vagelis tavern. As the night was rainy, we find some shelter outside the old school.
Fourth day started with a glorious view of Dimitsana. We went down the whole Loussios valley, up to Filosofou bridge, and under quit heavy rain we climbed up the 700m elev. gain up to Stemnitsa (17 km). That night we have been hosted by Nena, the Mpelliko hostel owner, and we celebrated the end of our hike with local wine and ... a shower.

Μπράβο! Ωραία δουλεία. Σκεφτόμαστε να το κάνουμε και εμείς προς τέλη Σεπτεμβρίου - αρχές Οκτωβρίου. Πώς και επιλέξατε την αντίστροφη διαδρομή όμως ;

Τα Λαγκαδια εχουν καθημερινη συγκοινωνια, ενω η Στεμνιτσα οχι. Πηγαμε με ΚΤΕΛ.
