I am getting so old that I started playing DotA as a mod back in the day, and now is like old history that people "verify" if it was really a mod or not. fells bad
At least with the technical side in the world now, after a long history and vast experience, everything is in perfect order and the angel Natalia can always rejoice.
I feel pedantic in saying this but it wasn't a mod it was a map. A mod would be something that was developed outside the game and brought into it, DotA was made using warcrafts own map maker.
@@TheNealzarka So I really only commented for the algorithm but you're completely wrong. "Video game modding (short for "modification") is the process of alteration by players or fans of one or more aspects of a video game,[1] such as how it looks or behaves, and is a sub-discipline of general modding. Mods may range from small changes and tweaks to complete overhauls, and can extend the replay value and interest of the game." "The World Editor for Warcraft III (2002) allowed a variety of custom scenarios or maps to be created for the game, such as a number of tower defense and multiplayer online battle arena maps, the most notable of which was Defense of the Ancients.' - Notice how it says maps and not mods?
@@TheNealzarka "is the process of alteration by players or fans of one or more aspects of a video game" No edits to the video game were made. You're basically saying that any game that allows players to make "custom maps" aren't actually allowing you to make maps but rather "mods" which is rather silly.

Aw, but I liked that show. Except the god awful ending.
It started as Guinsoo school project. Then later on would he have a group of coders and community.
