Good Job man,i'm an embedded systems engineer and i think that providing services by this way is moooooore effective than many freelance websites, really thank you so much :)
What I realized way too late is that it's not just the client choosing a freelancer but also that the freelancer can and should be selective. In the beginning you are just so happy about any job you can find. But in order for a freelancer to really take off they paradoxically need to be picky about your customers.
Absoultely! When starting out a lot of freelancers fall into the trap of taking all the work available, regardless of the price or the type of the client. This usually happens when you are hungry for work and can take your business into a downward spiral since you will be getting more of the same. I've been there and it's not a good place to be in. So it is very important to realize that you actually have a lot of choice when it comes to picking clients and to make sure you pick the right ones. It may take some time before you reach a point where you are working just with the people you like and on projects that are good, but once you get there it is completely worth it.
Hello dear you are doing awesome job please can you tell me that how start your converstion with client i mean the proposal , and is there any system you are fillowing for the client "follow up" ?
Crunchbase you have to pay a subscription for, so you might as well use Linkedin Sales Navigator. If you have a workaround for using Crunchbase to find clients without purchasing the subscription, that would be a useful video....
Good info as always!! One question: how/where can I find latin/Spanish websites/representatives that are located within United States so I can sell my services to them?
Good question! Unfortunately I don't know how to go about this since I mostly target United States and European Union, but a lot of websites are multilingual so look for those that have a spanish translation available. Or maybe try business directories where you can filter by country/language. For example: betalist.com/regions/spain
Brother I found one way to do this: go to the largest directory online: Google. Type in spanish the business category and a location that you want within United States. Example: Reparacion de Laptops, New York. Then you get the results from Google, you can try the business list that are shown in the beginning since this list are stores saved in Google Maps so you can navigate and get website, phone number, etc. That's it!
Awesome! Google maps are also a great way to find potential clients since they are becoming more popular and businesses are getting listed every day, not only restaurants and cafes. Great find man!
I love the fact you answer to everyone and find time to do so! I just wanted to ask if its not a problem for you to tell us how do you put together your offer/proposal to potential client don't you feel like you are pushing them to hire you? I feel like I'm in to their face...take me..take me.. Can you please elaborate what gives you the right to ask people or to tell people to hire you. I'm an illustrator and honestly I find your videos so truthful and helpful and something I should have done a long time ago instead of hanging on upwork but I just dont know who can I ask for work?
Hey Tanja thank you for the great question! I've created a video on the topic where I explain what works, at least in my experience: ruclips.net/video/b-Ecc4pmoYQ/видео.html
