Lilly. After 10 years of watching, this is my very first RUclips comment. According to statistics, I am not your typical audience, yet you are one of only a handful of RUclips influencers I seek out everyday. I want to tell you how much I admire you, your work ethic, your passions and compassion. That said, I need to say something - and I thought about this a full day before deciding I really wanted to say this, with the hope that MAYBE you might see this, but, hopefully, at least some of your viewers might as well. I attended the Women’s March in Los Angeles. It was a glorious, uplifting, “let-our-voices-be heard” peaceful, unifying day. Knowing your stance and branding of “Girl Love” I looked forward to your take on the events - local and worldwide - of that day. When I saw that you didn’t attend, I have to admit I was truly disappointed. We all see how VERY hard you work on the hustle - dreaming becomes doing, become achieving - and you do this among the very best, sincerely. But I don’t understand how your team didn’t alert/remind/encourage you to participate in such a world-wide important event. It was soooo in line with your “branding.” (Using that word is not meant in any way to be derogatory.) I am saddened at the missed opportunity to put forth information about this important on-going cause. The very rights of women - to be treated fairly and with dignity - especially at this turning point in America’s history. I looked around RUclips after the event and found so few RUclips influencers taking up the peaceful cause. With such a simple message: “Let us be heard,” I don’t understand how the opportunity to rally, entice and bring together women (and men) was missed. It was wonderful to see those who chose not to be silenced attend, but I did notice that we were definetly lacking in participation from teenagers and young adults - both women AND men - the very audience you greatly speak to. Lilly, I admire you pushing yourself to achieve, and I fully support and seek out to support those positive things you put out into the world. I hope your team will be more active in alerting you and assisting in aligning you with such future “girl love” events. And to your followers, thank you for being positive - we look to your generation to help keep love and compassion, and not division and hate, as our driving forces.
