correction; from what i researched, PC did infact get a physical release but the consoles didnt, there only exists the "digital box arts" used in the thumbnail which is a shame cuz id love to have 360 CSGO on my shelves ):
Thanks for the clarification 👍 The PC definitely did have a physical release, but I saw a lot of conflicting information about the Xbox, some mentioned a physical release and others said there wasn't one. I couldn't find a single image online of a physical copy for Xbox though, so I'd say you're right there lol.

Apparently, if I not mistaken these console versions didn't even received the Vertigo map update back in late 2012. Also the fact that Valve never updated the console version is maybe due the fact that every time they want to update there game on console, they need to pay a big fee to Microsoft and Sony to be able to let them update the game for additional content. Back in those days.
From what I could find, Valve intentionally decided to basically keep supporting the PC version as they knew it would be where most of the players were, the consoles were more of a “one-off” release. Interestingly, I found an article where a Valve developer spoke about why they removed the proposed cross-play, basically stating they wanted to offer constant PC updates, and that the consoles would make that process slower and more difficult.
You're dead on, the Xbox 360 and PS3 both required developers to pay a massive fee (at least $40,000 I think) for publishing game updates. Valve butted heads with this a lot during the 7th console generation because they were about 10 years ahead of the curve on games as a service. I'm pretty sure the logic at Microsoft and Sony was that they didn't want developers releasing unfinished games and then pushing tons of updates to fix them later, but they thankfully ended the practice with the release of the Xbone and PS4.
@@QuintessentialWalrus Yep, when I was researching the Crossplay cancellation I believe it was Chet Faliszek (Former Valve Developer) that had made a statement about it basically saying that each console update would take time (and money) to push through. It’s a shame, but that’s how it was with the online consoles services being a growing thing at the time I suppose.
There is CS (1.6) for Xbox original (physically), and it's as I understood even playable on Xbox 360 (not Xbox one). CS:GO hasn't received physical release on Xbox 360
ps3 version has no online support anymore due to steam being shutdown on psn this also affected portal 2 and the steam app. i think it was shutdown due to secruity and steam changing how it works

PS3 had KB/M support weirdly enough and I’m sure back then it was super unbalanced to play with. Also it had it Move support but I see you had footage for that

From what others have said, unfortunately it doesn’t seem as though there are physical copies for the consoles (although the CS wiki says differently) I really couldn’t find real images of it :(
I didn't have the issue with loading screens and stuff popping in on my PS3, but I did pirate the game if that maybe somehow made a difference? Also how could you get into MM on the PS3 as it requires Steam which should be shut down on console, unlike the 360 version that uses Xbox LIVE?
As far as I know, the loading pop in only happens on a few maps (shoots and baggage for me) As for the matchmaking, I wasn’t able to find a match, it runs through PSN and is apparently still working though.
@@Retro-Calico when I signed in through PSN it didn't let me sign into my Steam account, also other people in the CSGO history talk discord server said it was shutdown and even news outlets covered it (was shutdown because of some EU law for data protection I think). However if you have a modded PS3 you can get the developer console and connect directly via IP of someone from what I have heard
I can agree in a way, although for how competitive CS is, it really doesn’t play well on consoles in my opinion. It would also be a pretty significant investment for Valve to have to consistently update all three platforms to be identical to one another.

Ah, you have a video about it already
If you can delve into the early-early cs go aplha and beta stuff It'd be great, as the almost 2012 level open beta studf is getting boring.
I've been researching quite a bit into it and found lots of cool information, so it may have to be something I will explore in one of my next videos 👍
