My eyes well up every time. I pray that I have that level of courage when the time comes to stand and be counted or believe in something as strongly as those men did.

My fav bit in there is actually the last flute part that starts around minute 4, it's the only little piece of soundtrack where it's exactly played like that
but if we must die...if we must die...let it be like this. - D'Artagnan - (played by Gabriel Byrne) - one for all, all for one - athos (played by John Malkovich)- that moment when i think the same that the lieutenant : "magnificent valor''
Leonardo castillo ---I thought the lieutenant's comment there was wholly inappropriate and an intrusion. It was made to convince who, us? We didn't need it. By then we'd borne witness.
@@CactiTrio You could say the Lieutenant was star struck by the 3 musketeers in that moment, and by the end he even admits he wanted to be just like D'Artagnan. The comment was more likely to himself thinking loudly
@BeyondEnchantment They both worked on the soundtrack of The Rock together. So probably Nick-Glennie Smith that produced this type of work on The Rock and not Hans Zimmer. if you listen to Smiths other work you see similarities. Some of the themes for The Rock are very similr sounding to Gladiator so you can tell a bit which is Zimmer and which is Smith.
I have to confess, the first time i saw the ending, I was a pre teen, and i didnt get that they actually changed the King. Remembering that makes me laugh
While a massively inaccurate movie in terms of history, you can't deny the real power of this piece and that moment when the five of them decide to go out in a blaze of glory. Better to fall as lions than live as lambs!
This is sadly a movie that could never be made today because it would be 'too problematic.' Here's to hearkening back to a time where grown men wore uniforms and knew how to fight with honor.
Sounds very similar to The Rock....thinking since the composer of this film Nick Glennie-Smith got a writing credit on that movie he was probably the one who created The Rock's main theme Hans Zimmer is great but I feel people ghostwrite for him too much, or he just takes more credit than is due....not purely his fault but oh well
Only 2 men knows today all things arround real iromask register founded inside The Bastilla at French Revolution. All other material 'r purelly fictional. But yes, this a great song.
Hands up if you feel like crying in this scene when they rush at the King's Musketeers and the Lieutenant says "Magnificent Valour!"

One of the most powerful on-screen moments I've ever seen for a side character.

My favourite film too!
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
That bit at 4:01 is truly beautiful. What a piece to accompany the saddest scene in the movie
One of the best scores in the film. Reflects the courage and determination of the Musketeers and Phillipe.

Love the movie and music, so beautifully written and played.
Breaks my heart eveytime. D’Artagnan was the best. What a beautiful scene!!
