In Alfie's defence, he had been the whipping boy a fair bit that race... He was getting hit quite a lot, not to excuse him driving like his name was Thomas Ronhaar, but literally everyone in the top 5-6 except Jarno had hit him in the last few laps.

Going by Thomas' steering input, he shouldn't be as quick as he is I think. Virtually all the other drivers are very smooth and precise, Thomas is very sharp and aggressive with his wheel - that style shouldn't work over race distances I think, otherwise others would do it.

This race for Jarno reminds me of the race where Lewis was having the exact same thing happen and he was completely in the dumps. His engineer kept him on track, told him to get on with it, and Lewis came back to win the race in dramatic and dominant fashion. In this case it wasn't the engineer that got Jarno back on track. It was the sacrifice Jake made to help Jarno catch the leaders and set up the win.

I'm not Ronhaar hater and actually I LOVED watching him kick butt in the Haas. Bringing the lower tier teams some love and attention, loved it. Plus, he is a damn skilled sim driver, no doubt. Jarno Opmeer actually annoyed me the last couple of years with all the whining. BUT, I think I noticed Jarno was not turning the car this much nor was the car in the same spot compared to his real life hands and where the car was from his perspective. I'm telling you, that lag from Ronhaar which is obviously blinking orange must have jacked the placement of the cars for him or maybe even just his own car and the timing got ever so slightly messed up. Watching both Jarno and Ronhaar from behind, you see the car just magically move in the way. From Jarnos perspective, it was very smooth and clean, but still probably on the edge of course, but not bad at all.
These drivers, season after season, show that they are nothing more than Quali Specialists. Absolutely no racecraft when they get wheel to wheel, hard racing in this series almost never ends without contact. It's honestly pathetic guys like Butcher and Otis have shown such little growth in wheel to wheel combat discipline.
