This is where I'm stuck, dude just completely cut out the most complicated step lol. That cable is right up against the door and if I even get it out I don't know how I'll get the new one in. It's impressive how unhelpful this video is. I appreciate him trying to post something to help people, but it's just not a good effort.
Hello sir, I was in a car wreck that was limited to the right front passenger side towards the head lamp. I got my car fixed at a repair shop however when they gave it back to me the right passenger lock isn’t responding to the button like how it was in your video. My issue is they are telling me it wasn’t in the estimate and the insurance is saying my car wreck didn’t cause it and both parties are basically saying they won’t fix it. I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue SL . I’m at a loss because I don’t know what my next step should be, should I keep pressing my insurance on this? If so what would be the questions to ask or what should I say? I don’t know enough about this to fight back. I just picked up my car yesterday 7/13/22. I’m hoping someone can help me. Or if it’s common for the actuator to give out like this?
if the door was not physically damaged they are going to make that argument everytime insurance does not want to pay more than they have to and are always looking for loop holes to not pay for something those door lock actuator do go out i have change them semi regularly but there are multiple possibilities to why its not working could be the door lock actuator itself but could be something else but you really would need to find out why its not working and if related to accident it would have to be were wires where cut or damaged and looks like clearly from accident in the case of the video i could see where the lock wanted to move but just could fully mation from lock to unlock so that let me know everything else worked but if it does nothing at all if could be that itself or something else like body control module which is the computer that actually tells it to lock and unlock then have to see if its actually getting signal to operate but those are not rare to replace the actuator itself all i can say is it really needs to be diagnosed and determined why its not working anything short of that is speculation and in this case insurance will only assume that wasn't already working and your trying to get it fixed for free because people are alway trying to scam insurance so its a catch 22 situation
@@Kangol_Automotive Thank you so much for this information! I appreciate your time seriously! I took my car into a Nissan dealership service department to get it diagnosed. First diagnostic was free THANKFULLY and they figured out it is the actual actuator. I appreciate the advice about getting it diagnosed. 🙏🏽
So, you didn't have to touch the door handle or the cable going to it at all, you just disconnected the cable at the actuator and did not use the new cable that came with the new unit?
The new unit comes with cables.Already on it there's a ride from the outside door handle with a little clip that connects it to the actuator you can just disconnect that inside of the door and remove the actuator itself
My door lock on my 2015 Rogue SL wasn’t locking right. I replaced the door actuator but it still doesn’t work properly. It is very random. Sometimes when you turn the car off the door doesn’t unlock. Sometimes when you push the button on the outside door handle it won’t lock, but after pushing it a few times it will lock. Any ideas on what is causing this randomly? Could it be a low key fob battery or something like that? Could it be a bad door handle button? Thanks for any help.
replaced with a new or used actuator? the key fob has to be with in two feet of the door the car calls out to the key and the answers ive seen things like cell phone or other objects giving of a frequency distort the signal between the two but you would need a scan tool to see BCM data and you could see if the car is seeing the request button being pressed when it does work does it try but can fully function of doesnt do anything at all
@@Kangol_Automotive it was a new OEM from Nissan. It is very random and I can have the fob in my pocket right next to the door and push the button. Sometimes it will lock on the first try and some times I can push it three or four times and it will finally lock. When unlocking sometimes it will unlock and sometimes I will finally have to take the key out of the fob and manually unlock it.
@@Kangol_Automotive it will work normally sometimes and sometimes I have to push the button several times for it to work and sometimes I can push it several times and it doesn’t work. Very frustrating lol.
This must be a common Nissan Rogue problem because mine stop working almost a year after I got my car. I have a 2019 Nissan Rogue. I knew it was this because my ex confirmed it (but wont touch my car). I want to get it fixed at the dealer but I just feel like they are going to take advantage of me as a woman based on the conversation I just had. Came here to see if I could fix it myself but uh no... going to find a local mechanic LOL.
you may need to try to turn the steering wheel back in forth while trying to turn the key to get it out the wont come out when the steering wheel is locked
Thanks -- great video! Exactly what I was looking for, in a nice concise form.
Thank you so much! Great work! just changed it on my rouge, super easy and helpful
Glad it helped
Thank you for a very nice video.
I have just job in front of me.
I'm a bit nervous bout the door panel removal 😅
Thank you. Great video! It helped me realize I can’t do this on my own and it’s worth it to pay to get it fixed. 🙏🏾
just did it today and it really wasn't that difficult
. How was the door panel?😅
As far as uninstalling the old on…. Did you skip a big step??? I don’t see how you got the old on out as far as the single wire going UP

Would a weak 12 volt battery cause intermittent operation or is the actuator likely the only cause?
What the heck..
Did I miss the most important part.. uninstalling and reinstalling the actual actuator itself (?). Thanks
Hey man. do you know if the process would be the same in a Nissan pathfinder? i have the same issue on my 2018. Great video by the way
The door panels are made differently but the premise is pretty much the same
Very informative instruction video. Showed me where and what to do. Thank You. I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Thanks Again!
my toxic self knows that I will try this and probably struggle to get the door back on - lol.
How did you discount the part that hooks into the exterior door handle?
Did you have to remove the outside door handle assembly?
Thank you very much for this video.
Great video, how long it took you to replace it?

Good video but you completely missed over or did not show the step where you have to remove the cable from the exterior door handle.
Hey did you have to buy the whole assembly or just the actuator
The actuator is a part of the door latch assembly
Have a 2018 rogue, this issue just started happening today. How much was the acuator replacement?
$263
@@Kangol_Automotive thanks
That's just the actuator, not the install, right? @Kangol_Automotive

Is this cover under nissan warranty? Anyone knows🥲 my two back passenger sides are messed up..

its a common Nissan problem as most of the vehicles share this same part
I just called the dealer, he wants $700.00 plus tax to replace the driver side actuator on my 2019 Rogue.
Should’ve shown how to remove the actuator
Can this drain the battery?
I've never seen it but I won't say it's impossible anything electrical has the potential to drain the battery
My 2000 Nissan steering wheel is locked key won’t turn any idea what’s wrong
you may need to try to turn the steering wheel back in forth while trying to turn the key to get it out the wont come out when the steering wheel is locked
2017 Nissan door doing the same thing 🤦🏿♂️
