- Dr Ruja Ignatova (aka the ‘Crypto Queen’) and her company OneCoin set out to revolutionise the world of cryptocurrencies. But then she vanished in 2017, after pocketing billions of dollars from victims across the world.
So where did she go? Could she be in Dubai? Did she get a facelift and move to Brazil? Or could she be hiding in plain sight?
Technology writer and journalist Jamie Barlett investigates this crazy story of what could be the world’s wildest crypto scam.

The irony of these ICO is, Crypto should be a decentralised monetary system, but at the same time victims trust a very centralised group or a person.
What's even more fascinating about OneCoin though is that it wasn't even real even in an ICO sense. There was no blockchain at all, it was just numbers in a database.
This has nothing to do with crypto, and she was given the name Cryptoqueen to make crypto look bad by the elites. Onecoin doesn't use crypto, it was designed purely to be a scam.
Nothing Decentralized about it if a few people can steal everything
Which is why you shouldn't feel very sorry for them. They were only interested in making money, not in helping to create a better world. Same with the victims of FTX, people that believe in crypto don't leave their coins on an exchange.
And that's why it's doomed.
With markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest-rate hike, while treasury yields are rising rapidly-which means more red ink for portfolios this quarter. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $125k bond/stocck portfolio
It comes down to technique; a downtrend gives you room to focus on the market and grow significantly in the short or long term. While it is easier to make money when the market is rising, a downtrend can still yield high returns if you have the necessary knowledge and skills. For this reason, I have been scaling up during this difficult period by working with an investment advisor; this has been the only way I have raised up to $150K in the last six months.
in as much as my knowledge of the business is limited, it seems that this is the ideal time to enter the market based on my understanding of supply and demand in the economy. The consistent price variations, which shouldn't be an issue, are the only thing stopping me. But I really need a counselor; could you please assist me?

Inflation has a greater impact on people's cost of living than a crashing stock or housing market,
resulting in an immediate and tangible effect. This explains the current high level of negative market
sentiment, and our need for assistance in surviving this challenging economy. The financial markets have

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, constructing a solid financial portfolio has

Why did u make that shorts video about New Zealand gangs and say disrespectful things that aren't true?
Rumor has it she's pretty much got armed guards so unless a bounty hunter with insanme gunslinging skills can take on her
Maybe Jesus Christ will sling judge her unrepentant ass one day.
There is no way to withdraw 4 billion dollars. If they put pressure on the offshore banks, its possible to find a money trail
@@PhonkEcho Exactly. Unless she split the money into several smaller accounts all over the world. That way, she would launder a few millions at a time.
@@PhonkEcho She most likely has the money she stole in different crypto accounts etc. banks safety boxes/where ever you can(you can if you know what you are doing) hide assets.
The Equalizer could probably take her out
To quit your job and give all your inheritance away is insane. She did a helluva job marketing!! Grown ups should be more wiser than that
this kind of "money" MLM was around in the eighties. one "cash" MLM my co worker commented it had all the appeals: against the system, we're in this together, we'll all be rich; but many of my co=workers got involved but they DIDN@T do some of the stupid things you see today: sell their homes, quit their job, put mom's cash into it. Tech has brought out the worst in all of us, and just taken it to a level of Theatre of the Absurd.
How do u have a QUEEN in a decentralised system. Crypto Queen?! Lmao.
Some people are born to be conned … I mean who would trust this woman with their hard earned monies. ?
That's what desperation, greed and ignorance does to a person

This is why we're meant to have a regulatory system that can actually rein in crap like this. It's the job of regulators to stop blatant cons like this BEFORE people lose billions. Should many of those people invested? Probably not. Does that make the behavior of these thieves any more acceptable? Of course not!

What’s the name of the podcast?
So sad Vice is bankrupt, I've been following this story too and it would've been great if they had more budget for this piece
The woman quite literally sounds like the villain from a Bond movie. I don't feel bad for a single person who lost their money. Judge a book by its cover people! How on Earth would you give this woman money?!
Yeah judge her on her looks, smart
Exactly! Only give your money to pretty people!
@@yadusolparterre Smart enough NOT TO GIVE money to a random human.
A sucker is born every time.
@@CarpeDiem13x you give money to random humans every day. Do you only buy from handsome people as well?
This is a prime example of how one can exploit the greed and the desire for quick financial success. Ignatova wasn't a genius, she just knew better how greed works. Well, I am actually amused that nobody can find her... I mean, seriously?!
It feels good to put faces to the voices on the podcast - The Missing Cryptoqueen.....
Believe me, must have great courage and briliant self confidence to behave like she did. Only a great woman can do it. For me, as a bulgarian , is rather strange how many stupid people with much money are waiting around asking to be cheated. You only look at her face , how can you thrust it?
Vice are the experts on the topic of grift - they live it
Can't wait for another season of the podcast.
I want that book.
