The truth is city midfield could still win this game without Rodri but they had no chance without Michael Oliver in that midfield, man knew the danger of MLS last week against wolves and tried sending him off😂😂😂😂

Man City has an ageing Mid-field. KDB, Gundogan, Bernado Silva etc. Without Rodri they can be pulled apart by any aggressive team. Arsenal was determined to avenge their draw and boy did they come at Man City. Partey, Declan and Odegaard is the best midfield trio in EPL..
Spot on here mate, City are in desperate need for a midfield rebuild, a team that can have the energy to deal with the likes of Arsenal. The pace was just too much for them and the intensity that Arsenal brought into the game was in the end the major defining factor in the game swinging so heavily in Arsenal's favour.

At the end Ortega was caught flat-footed. If he had been on his toes he could have got his feet into a position to dive, but Nwaneri's shot took him by surprise (He is like Saka, they don't need a lot of time to get the ball going goalward), and he took one big step across at which point he can't dive. You can see it in the still you put up, he can't dive from that position. When you see goalkeepers warming up and bouncing on their toes, this is what they are trying to avoid. It's a basic technique problem and not what you expect from a City goalkeeper, but I suppose they were already 4-1 down and his concentration slipped a little?
Really good shout, I suppose he couldn't dive, but that also means credit needs to be given to Nwaneri for taking the initiative to take the shot so early, brilliant from him.

14:36 I don't believe that it's the responsibility of players to intimately know the superpowers of every single opposing player. That's the responsibility of coaches. If instead of Ethan Nwaneri that had been Bukayo Saka on the ball, the City players would have pressed immediately to deny him the space to his left. As it stands, what they see is an unknown quality, and they dare him to take what for just about everyone else besides Bukayo Saka is a very low percentage shot. Except that this kid, in that situation, isn't looking to pass or dribble, the only two sensible options here, he's looking to shoot because for _him_ that's a high percentage shot. It's insane to think that a 17 year old already has a signature shot, but that's exactly what it is. Girona found this out midweek, apparently their parent club in Manchester didn't bother to check. Bad coaching.
I think you're really on to something with the profile of players and in particular with Nwaneri, currently an unknown quantity which might explain the approach from the City defenders, that being said, Nwaneri did brilliantly to take advantage of that situation, that moment and make it his.

Sometimes it’s quite simple. Again and again Arsenal used the old double-teaming routine to win the ball, player one puts the squeeze on and player two goes ‘thanks very much I’ll relieve you of that ball now’. You don’t even need to commit risky fouls, it’s just smash and grab, simples, then you give it to Odegaard.

Yeah, I definitely think that's part of the problem, the aggression just isn't in City's game right now unfortunately, that also stems from midfield though, too easily bypassed, exposing the defense far too often, in time I have no doubts Pep and City will fix it though.

In what sense do you mean? As in from Man City's point of view? City didn't approach the game with the same style, progression or positioning, my theory is that even if they did, Arsenal's physicality and approach would have been to much for them anyway but it was definitely strange to see Pep stray from something that worked so well against Chelsea, if I was to have a guess I would say that's down to the physicality of Arsenal's side.

To be honest, this was a vital game, a huge game. They had a big mental block against City, a huge mental hurdle to climb, but they did it in this game with a big statement win. Proper performance that should allow them to kick on to the rest of the season now.
