That bridge leading into the chorus is one of the greatest musical achievements of the past 25 years or so. Absolutely brilliant. It boggles my mind how excellent the last 4 Borknagar albums are.
It's so good to hear Hedlund, Hestnaes and Nedland singing in a same song! Hope to hear another songs when I purchase it What an outstanding recording! So clear! That's the way, buddies! :D
+Artur Vicente (Rutra) which part is sung by Lazare? Him and Vintersorg have similar sounding clean vocals, but I think it's the "the cycle of all..." bit, right?
+Anetron1 Hey, mate. So, listen to him 1:00 (echoes through the halls of lore), also on 2:13 (the cycle of all, the rise and fall...), also on 5:53, when he repeats "the cycle of all, the rise and fall". I think he appears on some choral pieces, but I dunno accurately. ;)
First song I listened was Noctilucent but because I put Winter Thrice on shuffle. And hearing Vintersorg was wooooo I'm going to love them. A month later I saw them live and dude, I've seen Sabaton live which gave an amazing show, but Borknagar blew up my mind. There was a before and after in my life when I saw them
totally man, in fact my first BORKNAGAR albums where th OLDEN DOMAIN and then Archais course, back in early 2000. Now i just fucking love this song, havent heard their last album thou. Hails from Chile
Fuck, Vortex's vocals, fifteen years later still blowing me away. This is the first Borknagar album I have been paying attention to in probably a decade.
Been able to grow a beard since I was 11, but finally came to terms with it at 29 and finally sport some facial hair. I used to fuckin hate it, since I’m an ape man.
I'm just a lowly gun toting Texan who had the pleasure of seeing them perform at Inferno Fest in Oslo about 7-8 years ago. That was a surreal, almost religious experience. And they just keep getting better.
If the profile pic is you it's easy to see why you haven't your young these guys have been around since the mid 90's and they don't get near enough credit in bm community because they don't sound like crap

This album is packed with unforgettable moments. A fucking gem to say the least. Cold Runs the River is my personal favorite. One of my favorite 2016 releases for sure. After Misery Index's The Killing Gods
This always reminds me of a fantasy RPG like the Witcher or Elder scrolls, god I miss my childhood, my imagination was souring, now I just feel so stale 😭 what the hell happened to me
Aline Schmidt start from the beginning because you'll see and appreciate how hard they've work to get to this point! Like i said, all there albums r good but the ones that Vortex sing are the best! Listen to "the Presence is Ominous!"
I'm new to Borknagar and have been trying to match the vocals on each song, the main clean vocals here is Lars A. Ledland or am I completely wrong? as I understood 2.29 it's Vortex and the harsh vocals is Vintersorg, I still am not familiarized with Vintersorg clean vocals(i read somewhere he also does it)
Sad no one answered you, I have the same questions. I know Mr. V does clean and grim. Is he only grim on this CD? I don't think so. I think he is the main vocalist with lots of clean.
@@HauntingTheHoly I don't know if it was like this in older albums, don't know for example if Vintersorg appears more in older albums. But in this Winter Thrice album and the most recent one, True North, Lars Nedland and Vortex seem to alternate a lot between them. Recently Nedland project "White Void" came out so I am now more used to his voice then when this album came out so is now easy to spot when he appears. I think you are right, in general Vortex seems to be the main clean vocals but Nedland is increasing is appearance as clean vocals as well. In this song Nedland seems to be the main one at least in the verses part, at 2.22 for example I am pretty sure it is Lars Nedland(it's is way of singing) for example but at 2:28 it really seems to be Vortex by the pitch of the voice. Everytime I hear this song it really seems Nedland in most of the clean parts alternating with Vortex in others, and hearing now the live performance of the song I am most sure of it, but live they switch it with Vortex singing most of the clean parts. In the most recent album the transitions between them seem to be even more common, maybe due to Vintersorg leaving, I don't know. in songs like Up North is pretty easy to spot when each of the two is singing. In this Winter Thrice album is not always so obvious, even in Metal Archives they state both Lars and Vortex as clean and chorus. I only saw them once live, via Wacken livestream and then Vortex seemed to be the main vocals on stage with Lars more as backing or so it seems.
So good!!! Borknagar only gets better and better! When does this album come out, or has it already? I'm so out of the loop these days, I'm a dad, haha!
Borknagar isn't a band. Borknagar is a sonorous living organism. The bridge between men and nature through music.
+Leandro Ferreira de Aquino sonorus living orgasm*
cheers to that
+Leandro Ferreira de Aquino Hail to that!
+Leandro Ferreira de Aquino Agreed!!!
+Tutatis What, it didn't say orgasm already?.......*actually reads*..........oh yea, look at that.....
Thanks for being with me when I ascend my mountains, Borknagar.
Yes! A thousand times yes!
That bridge leading into the chorus is one of the greatest musical achievements of the past 25 years or so. Absolutely brilliant. It boggles my mind how excellent the last 4 Borknagar albums are.
I don't even have the words for how amazing this is. I feel like I'm on the Colorado mountains again.
This album was released on my 37th birthday. I didn't discover this music until a few weeks ago, but wow, thanks for the birthday present, guys.
How does this band just keep getting better? not one bad album ever. Amazing.
Trve, all Bork albums are awesome. No one bad
Borknagar never disappoint. Never!
It's so good to hear Hedlund, Hestnaes and Nedland singing in a same song! Hope to hear another songs when I purchase it
What an outstanding recording! So clear!
That's the way, buddies! :D
+Artur Vicente (Rutra) Hey dude! Fancy seeing you here - united in wait for Borknagars new masterpiece :D
+Artur Vicente (Rutra) which part is sung by Lazare? Him and Vintersorg have similar sounding clean vocals, but I think it's the "the cycle of all..." bit, right?

+Dawid Osyda Hey dude, how is it going?! :D
Another album, same anxiety, huh?! Hahaha
Best wishes! :)
Artur Vicente yeah, that's what I thought. Cheers! Can't wait to hear the song they recorded with Garm.
Album of the year 2016!!!
My first song by this band, the vocals brought an instant smile to my face! Are all their songs this wonderful mix of heavy and melodic beauty?
Yup! There a beautiful band dude! Specially when Vortex sings.
bro you've gotta check out their older stuff if you're into black metal. It's some Stormblast like madness. One of the most underrated bands ever
the oldest stuff was more heavier than this ^^
First song I listened was Noctilucent but because I put Winter Thrice on shuffle. And hearing Vintersorg was wooooo I'm going to love them. @@missmorksjal8865 nice taste, I love both, too
One of the most epic metal tracks I've ever heard hands down 👌🏿
This is my first time hearing this. Been a Borknagar fan since The Olden Domain and they haven’t lost their touch!
totally man, in fact my first BORKNAGAR albums where th OLDEN DOMAIN and then Archais course, back in early 2000. Now i just fucking love this song, havent heard their last album thou. Hails from Chile
Andreas "Vintersorg" Hedlund. (Always sublime").
Fuck, Vortex's vocals, fifteen years later still blowing me away.
This is the first Borknagar album I have been paying attention to in probably a decade.
You should listen Urd where Vortex sings even more.
I'm always amazed at the epic sounding stuff Borknagar write!
The concentrated awesomeness of this song was way to great for my unprepared earballs. Thank you for this, BORKNAGAR you gained one more fan.
That riff at 3:40.... LOTR level of epicness
i absolutly love ICS Vortex's voice!!!
The actual heck has this band been all my life

i'm 19 and i can't grow a beard :(( feels bad man
Damn I started being able to grow one at 15. I guess I was blessed by the god of the hairs
janteo1 bahahahaha I'm 25 and can't grow a beard.
Been able to grow a beard since I was 11, but finally came to terms with it at 29 and finally sport some facial hair. I used to fuckin hate it, since I’m an ape man.
Obscura and Borknagar both released songs in the last 12 hours. Its fucking Christmas.
Beautiful, all of it. Not just the video. I had to listen to it 2 more times, to finally decide to stop lol
I wake up every day with this song!!!!I can't wait new album!!!!
My body isn't ready for album which is better than URD. I'm sure, i'll lose my mind completely.
Love it !
Bork is great as always.
Hope can see them live
I'm just a lowly gun toting Texan who had the pleasure of seeing them perform at Inferno Fest in Oslo about 7-8 years ago. That was a surreal, almost religious experience. And they just keep getting better.
I'm just a lowly gun toting Hoosier who REALLY wants to see them live. Did they play anything from their first album?
Giving Borknagar a thorough listen. Geez, my ears are freaking missing out.
I just discovered these guys. OMFG They're fantabulous!!!! Woot! By the Gods where have i been that I've not heard them sooner :O Lol
Indeed, you are 20 years behind!_!
Same here - I just "discovered" them about 10 minutes ago...WOW!
If the profile pic is you it's easy to see why you haven't your young these guys have been around since the mid 90's and they don't get near enough credit in bm community because they don't sound like crap
Same! I've listened 4 songs of 'em already and I have to sleep; it's 2:16AM, lol. 2,19

This album is packed with unforgettable moments. A fucking gem to say the least. Cold Runs the River is my personal favorite. One of my favorite 2016 releases for sure. After Misery Index's The Killing Gods

If you press it thousand times, you would dislike it at the last! lol man I'm joking! Enjoy music, have a good day.
Wow, amazing song! Just discovered them. Which album should I start listening to?

Absolutely fucking amazing.
Cronian finally reached Borknagar!
Cronian is freaking awesome.
It's so good that I had x2 speed and I hadn't noticed it
We are living in the world where some K-pop bands are far more popular than this music. We are doomed
Well, I'm glad somebody owns a thesaurus.
Do I hear ICS Vortex's voice , at minute 2:29?!
+PietroRumenta è tornato da 2012 nel gruppo
+PietroRumenta yes!!
+PietroRumenta He is in the band after all
+PietroRumenta didn't know that Vortex is in this band .. nice to hear Vortex again!
+PietroRumenta
he has been back with them since the last CD, Urd
