My dad has Ulcerative Colitis. Really nasty disease, all he was told was that it’s incurable and he’d need a colostomy bag. After doing some digging online he found a study that said chewing nicotine gum could help alleviate some of the symptoms. It worked! When he went back to the doctor to tell him this and let him know he should look into this the doctor replied “It’s not in the british medical journal”. After finding again another paper and finding that
Long story short, most doctors do not read the literature nor do they really care about “alternative” remedies. They’re simply just doing a job. Many have totally lost the passion to help people

    Truth!!!!
Thank you! I have been looking for you to speak on this. Decades of stomach and intestinal issues and seeing doctor after doctor, labworks and tests and emergency hospital visits, exploratory surgeries.. just being told it "may be just IBS" ..
I decided to take matters into my own hands, changed my eating habits (no "diet"), more physical activity and exercised often and had more than 10 years of being prescription meds free. Recently had 4-5 months of very emotionally stressful periods that took a toll on me physically due to not eating hardly at all for days and weeks on end. One day, I felt hunger and jumped on that feeling and ate something small, but obviously too heavy for my weakened system and gut. I ended up having an "episode" of severe intestinal cramping and pain and because I didn't have anything in my system previously to help empty out, it was the worst I had ever experienced and thought I would die by stroke or heart attack.. thats how ferocious this episode was. It was then that I began to bleed from behind.. only blood and NO poop. Never had constipation issues nor bleeding from the bum,(sorry for the graphic description) I didn't know what to do and waited until the following day to go to the ER and that was only because I continually bled the whole day and night and morning and pain continued. Docs diagnosed me with Acute Colitis and I was shocked and they were dumbfounded when I told them I was never diagnosed that before and that the last time I was admitted at THEIR hospital was 11 years prior when a single doc insisted on performing an ileostomy (without first doing ileoscopy). And mind you that I had had been admitted 8 months prior for severe abdominal pains but was in great shape (apparently not eating well enough for all the physical activity and exercise I was doing) and they diagnosed me with cancer and said they needed to start chemo asap and then over my 5 day stay, that diagnosis changed day by day.. they were wrong! They sent me to oncology just to keep check of my blood cell counts and whatnot, until they decided that I needed the ileostomy done. Asked them to do a CT scan or even ileoscopy to see what may have changed and they said no need. Long story longer, the doc opened me up and closed me right back up and said he couldn't do the procedure and that there was nothing he could do. It was exactly what I figured that he needed a team of specialist surgeons to handle my case. But maybe a blessing in disguise? I took my own platelets (blood) blocks to every place in my area that specialized in cancer and to no avail.. they would accept them if they even returned my calls. Finally, USC pathology dept accepted them and sent them to Mayo Clinic who said I had a rare tumor that wasn't malignant but had the makeup of that of cancer and should be regularly kept in check. Less than a year later, I decided to stop taking all meds (I have numerous chronic and debilitating health issues that coincided and exacerbated one another). Hadn't really looked back since, but there I was, back in the same hospital in a severe state and they haven't any real clue what is going on nor did they try to think out of the box of what they are not knowledgeable about. I sat there the day before my release and spoke to the team of docs that came into my room.. I showed them all the junk they tried to feed me for breakfast.. nothing but sugar! and stuff that I don't even eat at home and told them and also asked them if they were sure of their diagnosis and that if I was a doc and especially part of a team, I would be researching (my case) closer to find things out and not just say, yeah, according to what the patience says, this is most likely what it is! Less some mumbling about some unrelated things, I interrupted and added that I appreciated all the "care" but would've appreciated more effort in finding a absolute cause/diagnosis so that I could have realistic treatment and management based on that and then asked to be released since they weren't doing surgery like they had said the day they admitted me. They doused me with antibiotics and I came home the following day. Three weeks and counting since and so now I'm weaning into the carnivore eating to see how much it helps me to improve my health.. my life. 🙏🏼🥩🍌🍍🥭🧀🥛

Do you have issues with your gut?
Reflux? Gas and bloating? Pain? Constipation? Diarrhea? IBS? Crohn’s and Ulcerative colitis?
If you go to a gut doctor (Gastroenterologist- who are all very smart and well intentioned), chances are they will just recommend a medication…. 💊
Without getting to the root cause of your issues…
A medication like a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) for reflux… (serious side effects)
    A laxative for constipation….
    An antimotility drug for diarrhea…
Immune suppressive medications for Crohn’s or Ulcerative colitis (or even surgery!)….
While these interventions may help with symptoms they DO NOT get to the root cause of the issues…🧐
I strongly believe that in the MAJORITY of cases, these conditions are caused by FOOD!
This means that they are reversible and easily fixed with more intentional food choices…. 👊
But most gut doctors won’t tell you this…. It’s simply not how we are trained as doctors…
And this is tragic because so many of you will continue to suffer!
I know today is Thanksgiving, and that many of you will be eating whatever you want….
But know that if you have gut issues being intentional with what you eat could make a HUGE difference, start tomorrow if you have to! 👊👊
What do I believe are the best foods for humans to eat? The foods your ancestors have sought preferentially for hundreds of thousands of years: organs, meat, fruit, honey and (more recently) raw dairy… = #animalbased

I can confirm, after spending a good 10 ish years experimenting on myself, I have done many diets, all meat, all veg, all fish and rice diets. I found dramatic changes in my health. I’ve cut out fast foods like McDonald’s and unless I can see what’s in the food I either thoroughly wash and rinse or consider the % of oils and other fats that might be in the foods I eat. Now 2 years into my gym fitness routine and I can boast an incredible strength for my weight and size. I cannot stress enough do not allow some medical professional who has a piece of paper saying he knows what’s best for you. Don’t be lazy stop making them god figures in your life and take responsibility for your health. No Jesus is coming to save you from you eating poorly. We all have a choice in what we stuff our faces with. You’re not a victim you are in control. Just take it one step at a time. You got this! 👍

I did some research into nasal breathing and mouth taping at night. Within 2 weeks my sinuses opened up... there not perfect but they are a hell of alot better then they were...

I was told I have esophogitis eosinophilia, pardon me if I spelled that wrong I’ve got a mix of Spanish and English going on that sometimes I’ve forgotten English. Anyway, all cuz I’ve had a tough time eating a few items, most notably red meat, but I’m talking like big chunks of meat, which I’ll come back too. They diagnosed me with this condition and put me on a PPI, then with the combination of time, logical thinking, trial, and then finally coming across Paul here along with the other carnivore docs I came to the realization that I’m perfectly healthy! I also take smaller bites and chew my food super good, and now I don’t choke on my food, take any meds and all I eat is meat and sometimes a lil fruit here and there!

I think food is a big part of the puzzle, however the microbiome you have inherited would be the other part. I do feel a few notches better on red meat and I've even done strict carnivore with no eggs and dairy however stomach pains and mental health issues still persist. It's a spectrum, some people can do well with just dietary change alone, others might need to cross their fingers for advancement in bacterial transplants etc. I'm just one of the unlucky ones.

I had my gallbladder removed and pancreatic surgery 8 years ago. This has effected my digestion. I limit my dairy intake, but I do use kefir and pickles to reset my digestion. I also use papaya, honey and milk as a shake once a week for breakfast( it does wonders).
Don’t give up. Remember, we inherit diets and lifestyle. I occasionally use anis seed for tea. It also helps( occasionally).

From my experience, It's not bullsh!t. I drink a tablespoon with 2-3 oz of water, 15-20 before a meal and I experience better digestion (much less bloating/gas). Also, drinking it daily helps regulate blood sugar. Plus, it's very important to find out what are your trigger foods, like mine is cheese, so stopped eating it for a while and my digestion got better.

i’ve had serious gut issues my whole life (chronic gut pain etc.). it was only until the last year where i learned that if i stick to a really bland and simple diet most my problems go away; such that if i avoid high fibre foods, onion and garlic, and most greens, close to all of my problems go away. only issue is, this diet obviously isn’t sustainable from a health perspective. but every direction i turn people are constantly insisting i blindly take their magic gut powder and it infuriates me as that snake oil has only lead to wrong diagnosis and made my symptoms worse in the past. which direction would you point me?
