In the summer of 1967, I had to go to summer school to make up an algebra class. Outside of our classroom and parked on the street was a bright red SAAB Sonett 2 that really caught the eye. My parents drove an Austin Healey 3000, so I was aware of and had an interest in sports cars. I didn't know what that little red car was yet, but it stayed in my mind. It wasn't until a few years later when I started reading Road & Track that I found out what it was. And by the way, I got an A in that class.
"Thank you for sharing this amazing story! It's incredible how a car like the SAAB Sonett 2 can leave such a lasting impression, especially during such a memorable summer. And congrats on that A in algebra! Stories like yours make these automotive journeys so much richer. 🚗✨
The engine is FORD Cardinal Project engine in the USA originally. Used in Bobcats front loaders, American Lincoln Sweepers, Oil pipeline pump engine. I had a propane model 96 V4.
"Wow, that’s fascinating! The Ford Cardinal engine’s versatility is impressive, and owning a propane model V4 must have been a unique experience. Thanks for sharing this valuable info! 🚗✨
"Interesting fact! Producing cars in Arlöv, a suburb of Malmö, Sweden, certainly adds an unexpected twist to the story. Unlikely places often hold unique histories!" 😊
ps:its not that serious....its just a motor,so please shelve the Darth Vader seriousness please.....id let it go if you were Canadian....but i wouldn't wager your not a yank with the pretend Darth Pathos..... learnt lots regardless (rare with an American accent nowdays....hi from Oz😅)
Appreciate the humor and the perspective! 😄 Glad you enjoyed the info, even with the 'Darth Vader seriousness.' Cheers from across the globe-greetings to Oz! 🌏🚗

Yep id hazard a tilt with that
For a while produced in Arlöv, a suburb to Malmö Sweden, in small scale. An unlikely place for car production.
