    11:14, that story isn't to say materialism is bad, it's purpose is to tell us how easy it is for men to lose their way because of it. Chrisitianity frowns at wealth because men are prone to pride. A very wealthy person easily lets that get to their head, and they start thinking they are the shit, in other words, they become their own god. If you can be wealthy and still remain humble and accept that it is all God's doing, there is no problem with that.

If you read the gospels in their entirety, you would know that the rich man couldn't do it because his wealth was his god. Jesus being God was exposing the fact that this man had money as his god(idol). The first 2 commandments in the torah tell the people to have no other gods before Him....

    No actually having the experience base is CRUCIAL to understanding reality, followed by a knowledge base. Direct experience is very important in life and even in success, defined as 'achievements of goals, aims, purpose and objectives.'. For example, I didn't know much about myself or my ideology/biases, but I have a fantasy of being the greatest artist, say musician, then it's important to pick up an instrument and play, see how the sensory experiences feel for me actually instead of fantasies and theories about musical theory and the musical instrument being played. Having experiences there in that context super important. Another instance, say I want to be a writer or a programmer, and have fantasies from Steve Jobs or Steven King's careers, if I don't actually take action and behave, practice, even think/feel like a writer or a coder, and see how the process effects my well being instead of just believing or having fantasies about the domain I want to pursue that SUPER IMPORTANT! I'd argue there's enough grey area and wide margins for failure and learning to occur, more so than this hypothetical of a Nazi police yet you don't want to be a Nazi, or putting your hand in lava because experience is so important always. NO! Stop with the silly binary extremes of experiences, there's a spectrum and range there that needs to be factored into your argument!

    • @thehater6189
      @thehater6189  5 месяцев назад

      Nah, that isn't how arguments work. You need only one extreme example to illustrate how stupid the argument is. That is what I did. Youre out here talking about something different lol. Nobody said don't do anything. Wes, however, would say there is nothing gained from yoy strumming an instrument because you haven't experienced anything special. You're not Slash because you strummed a guitar. I am saying that someone can intellectually work out what it is like to be x without having experienced x.

    • @danielnelson3136
      @danielnelson3136 5 месяцев назад

      @@thehater6189 Right, and I'm saying that without having experienced x, in an experience base of your life, you cannot easily intellectualize or mentally work out what x might be like. Ask a child to intellectually work out how to drive a car or repair a car, well? That child won't be able to. Why? You need both the knowledge base and experience base of a mechanic that deals with car parts, see? You need both a working knowledge base and working experience base for life as both interplay with each other. You have a fetish for logic, reasoning, rationality, atheism, logician, determinism, science, and intellectualization, and that fetish and bias is making you devalue emotions, intuition, and experiences as crucial aspects of life improvement.
      Also, *you. Also, screw you and your fantasy of how arguing works.

    • @danielnelson3136
      @danielnelson3136 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@thehater6189 The hell happened to my other comment? Deleted? Pathetic. Regardless here's the short version: Knowledge and experience base is in a spectrum interplaying with each other. A person cannot intellectualize x without both the knowledge base to map onto x, and the experience base to map also onto x. For example, ask a child to intellectualize and figure out how to drive and repair a motorcycle, without experiences and training. They won't, nor can you ask a child with mostly sensory experiences of seeing how a car or motorcycle is repaired, with little knowledge to intellectualize that process. If you want to become a writer, only intellectualizing that won't work and having fantasies won't work. You have to be a writer and take action as a writer, cultivate experiences as a writer, learn the process, see how the process effects you, and that's why experiences are more valuable in general than intellectualizing.

    • @thehater6189
      @thehater6189  5 месяцев назад

      @danielnelson3136 this isnt the point at all though. Someone doesn't have to try to write or experience being a writer to conclude that writing is boring. This is actual argument here not something totally different about whether a child can conceptualize a bike or whatever. I can tell you that I have no experience with bikes but if you give me the materials, i can figure it out with enough time. This, however, isnt relevant to what the video is about. Also, nobody deleted your comment.

    Why do you keep calling him fat, when he really doesn’t look all that fat? I mean sure, he looks a little overweight, but He isn’t as big as the guy sitting on his far left!

    My advice to young men and all men for that matter: just follow Catholicism and Jesus Christ. It is grounded in reality. Christ actually did the things he said not just preached them.
    Do not get lost in superficial thoughts and expectations.

    The core of Wes Watson’s philosophy is self mastery. It’s actually very much Kung Fu mindset. When he is open about himself he admits he is manic and needs the massive self control to keep from going off and doing violence.

    Wes is hyper competitive. He does not know how to be chill. They have one mode, driven by basic insecurity. As a kid they were in an environment that had negative criticism.
