- We spent an evening in Crater Lake National Park in early August and completed the Rim Drive around the entire lake! This was one of the highlights from our time in Oregon.

Crater Lake is beautiful!
You jumped in!!! now your an Oregonian
What a beautiful video this was.
Thanks so much. I’m planning a solo trip and your video is super helpful.
That is so great to hear! Thanks for watching and enjoy your travels!
Amazing thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video
Thanks!!!!
Love the vids ! Thanks for sharing your day
Love your channel! We went to Crater Lake last year and it is amazing. The rim road was closed so we didn’t get to see the areas you got to. Thanks for sharing!
Oh no! Was it during the winter? Even getting to see the lake is a cool experience but I am glad we were able to drive the whole loop. Thanks for watching!
What a unique place. The water looked amazing. So clear. Cheers!
It was SO clear! I didn't mention this in the video but all the water comes directly from snow or rain -- no other water sources. Pretty crazy
@@WorkinfortheWild Wow, that's incredible. Thx!
Another great video. Edited while we watched your day? How often do you guys resupply food?
I think I was editing our Olympic Peninsula video while recording the day in the life! That was the one with 300 or so clips to sort through. I grocery shop once a week, typically. Pretty much the same as when we lived in a house, just have to be really careful to make sure we don't overbuy!
Thanks so much for your videos. Love your honesty and sincerity about what you two are doing. Keep them coming.
Thanks so much! We try to keep it real :)
Love the vids...wish you had time to post more...nice seeing that part of the country as the furthest west I've been is Las Vegas... Cincinnati being my hometown....keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching! I try to get two videos up per week, Mondays & Fridays
Awesome video, guys! That place is definitely on my bucketlist for sure. Also, your black dog and my black dog may be related lol
Thank you! Aww ours is Lady Bird, she's a 2 year old crazy black lab. Love labs!
@@WorkinfortheWild Same! That “crazy” lasts a looooooong time with labs lol. My 15 yr old dude still gets the zoomies on the regular. Safe travels, guys!
I've been fascinated by the park (which I have never visited) since I was a boy, when I saw it in a 60's edition of National Geographic magazine. Visiting is the closest thing I have to a bucket list ambition.
You should go! It is kind of in the middle of nowhere, making it a little more difficult to get to. But definitely worth it!
That is so beautiful! Can’t wait to go there!
Nice video, great job on the editing 👍
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching
Great video guys!! I'd love to jump in that lake!! 😍
I felt like it was a must-do while we were there! Definitely worth it
going next july so it helps to watch videos like your guys.
That's awesome! It's so beautiful, you'll love it
Clockwise is the best way to drive around the lake, 99% of the overlook pullouts will be on the right side and you don't have to constantly cross a lane.
Crater lake looks so beautiful and clear. The elevation on those small hikes will put you out of breath. I was wondering how many days to stay there. I was thinking 2-3 days. So I was in the ball park what you was thinking.
It was so gorgeous! I think 2-3 days is perfect. It would have been nice to have another day to check out a longer hike and a couple other spots. Also - just checked out your channel and you've been to some incredible places! I'll be taking a loot at your time in Great Smoky Mountains for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@WorkinfortheWild Great Smoky Mountains is amazing. I barely scratch the surface of what to do in the park. Since you love hiking, you have to do Myrtle Point which is past a little of Mount LeConte. You will thank me later.
Been there many times on the Harley (I live near Olympia, WA). It's a super deep lake - like almost 2,000 ft deep. Spectacular views though. Glad you guys saw it. When you guys were in the Olympic Peninsula (Washington), did you make up to Hurricane Ridge by any chance?
We did make it to hurricane ridge! You can check out our video from our time there: ruclips.net/video/Qp_MAtRecWY/видео.html
Out of all the RUclips videos I've seen of all the peeps visiting Cater Lake, this is the first of someone jumping in and swimming in the lake. That was awesome !!!
Thanks for another nice video. Concerning the roads, it would be nice if they would use our fuel tax dollars for maintaining the roads like it was meant to. As you already know there are very many sections across our whole country that suck. Stay safe you two.
When you are filming on the road, talking in the cab with Cole driving, are you usually filming with a Go-Pro - or a phone? Just curious, cuz it's clean footage.
Yes, always using a gopro! I have the Hero8 and Hero9, both work well.
ok glad your in oregon, Cape Arago, Sunset Bay state park at the cape, the gardens there, do the coast too.
We’re actually long gone from the area. This was a week and a half ago but we did get to the coast!
I thought it closed at 5pm. Otherwise, I would’ve made the trip yesterday
I think the visitor center closes around that time but you can still get into the park!
probably not near there anymore, the head waters of the Wood River, south of crater lake.
Just curious when you did the rim drive. Would it be possible for a vehicle to accidentally fall off the rim and into the lake? Just curious if possibly a missing car ended up in here. Or is this extremely unlikely? I have been using Google earth wondering if what I saw was a car underwater.
Hmmm no not that I noticed
Important question: Can the lake be enjoyed by someone who will not be hiking? I flipped over my electric scooter and landed on my knees a month ago, so I’m still having issues with inclines/declines. I can walk around normally, but going up and down takes me forever. I’m making the trek on my own and won’t be able to get away from the wolves.
Absolutely! Most of the spots around the lake require no walking. You just park and take in the views. We only had to hike to get to the swimming spot
What do you all do with the pups while you hike? That’s a limiting factor for us when dogs aren’t allowed and it’s too hot to leave them behind in the RV.
Good question. We brought them on this little adventure and just left them in the car for the short 2 mile hike. It was cool enough that evening so we weren’t worried. Sometimes we’ll leave the truck running with the AC on if it’s too hot, just as long as it’s only for a short period of time. It’s always something we have to think about and sometimes it does limit what we can do.
Is scuba diving allowed in Crater Lake?
Doesn't sound like it is allowed. But that would be cool!
@@WorkinfortheWild
I would love to dive that! Need to check on that when I get up there.
Average depth is 1000 feet.
