@Hunter_shull what makes it even creepier, is that the people who were trapped above the crash zone & those who didn't make it down the steps in time, heard that alarm and seen those strobe lights until the beams gave way and cut all the lights and alarms off. Next thing you know, you hear what sounds like a train coming at you because of the sounds of the floors collapsing on each other in split seconds knowing that it's coming at you and can't out run it.

I went to One World Trade Center last year and when I was at the top I had chills down my spine thinking that people jumped from the buildings that stood this tall. To those who died Rest In Peace, you will never be forgotten

I have a strong psychic sense, and I have this constant vision of jumping from the WTC and seeing only the Hudson river and noting the sheer grotesqueness of all that pristine beauty superimposed on my tragic death. I sometimes think the Sully Hudson River plane landing took place because of a soul or souls who never received closure or rest about their ends on 9/11 and needed to share at least part of that terrifying experience with living souls in order to find peace.

That high pitched "wee-ooo eee-ooo" around 3:35 is a haunting sound. It's the sound of a device firefighters wear. If it doesn't move for a couple minutes, it goes off. It was strapped to a living firefighter at some point.

I was right across the Hudson in Newark in my 5th grade classroom. We saw the smoke, we watched on TV. My father worked in the buildings. For 2 hours I thought my father had died. He came and picked me because it was his only day off of the week.

i'm from essex county! i was in 11th grade and it took about two hours before i got to hear from my dad. i was one of those random kids that had a cellphone but i still couldn't use it, kept getting an automatic message saying "All circuits are busy, please try your call again later" and it was honestly spooky
22 years later. These videos are so surreal and always make me cry and give me chills. RIP to all who lost their lives. I still remember this day and what I was doing when I watched the news.

Definitely a day anyone alive will never forget and remember exactly where and what we were doing when we heard. After the 2nd plane hit I left work (construction) and went home to see what the hell was going on. Arrived home just in time to see the south tower fall. Stunned, hand over mouth, silent.
You can find anything in these video, only the airplane remains are missing.... Dudes, this was an controlled explosion.

kind of ptsd myself not even being exactly there. I hate tall buildings since then. When I travel to big cities and have to get to a tall building, I always think about what bad could happen. I try to never book a room in tall hotel building. I moved eventually from NJ two years later to

They shouldn't have PTSD because it is their job and they train for situations like this. It is people who are not trained and don't intend to be in these situations who get PTSD.

Dave Roberts I watched a 911 documentary today and it said at least 70,000 people are suffering till this day from the fumes from the debris.

@@ew481 No, those were alarms you hear in the building are actual fire alarms. Towards the end of the video you hear a faint constant squeal. Those are what he's talking about. It's for finding firemen who are trapped. Many of them were in the tower's when they collapsed.

@@cyberquasar2267 you can kind of hear it around the 1:35 mark. It's that high pitched whistling sound.
What that is, is a locator device that all firefighters wear. It's motion detected. If the firefighter is still for two minutes, it gives a warning chirp, like "hey you better let us know your alive." And the firefighter will move, if he's just fine, and the alarm won't go off again. After three minutes of no movement, it starts blaring, to let others know where this fallen firefighter is at.
There were so many on 9-11 that you can hear it in all the footage from ground zero after the collapse.
The battery, I think lasts for 72 hours in a normal setting. So essentially that whistling eventually just faded away into nothing, as the batteries died, leaving a profound silence.

Props to all those who photographed and video taped this event.. In the moment, I’m sure it felt stupid to most people there, to put yourself in danger like that to record what was happening..
But in hindsight? It’s a good thing. It’s an important part of history of this event. It’s good to be able to put things into perspective, especially for those who were too young or not born to experience it as it happened.

Unfortunately, so much footage and evidence has been scrubbed from the internet over the years. Anyone with a modest understanding of physics and thermodynamics knows what went down that day.
I remember in one of the documentaries I watched that a photographer said it actually helped him years later with his mental health that he had seen everything through the camera lens that he could somehow distance himself from it in a way
I'll never forget that my boss sent us all home to be with our families when the 2nd plane hit. I cried for all those people. My dad was one of the ironworkers who went to help. His brown hair turned white within a week and he still won't talk about it.

I went to the memorial museum a couple years ago and saw kids who were the age I was when it happened. They were laughing, dancing, playing music on their cellphones while waiting in line. I saw them later inside the museum and lets say their facial expressions had changed. As for me, I was holding back tears the entire time.

Bro, this along with other videos, this hurts so much to watch. I was a freshman in college and we were naively afraid to go to our dorms 15 floors high as we were scared enough to think they’d hit something that small and inconsequential, but were still frightened as we watched, huddled around a tv in the common area of Virginia Commonwealth University as this unfolded. I watched news coverage (on 6 stations back then (max)) for days because i felt I needed to absorb it. I understood what my parents felt when Kennedy was assassinated and when Pearl Harbor happened before them. Now I watch these videos multiple times a year unfortunately, because forget not forgetting, it’s burned into my head and one of the most traumatizing days of my life as an American, let alone as a NY transplant. It’s crazy... I think and dream about the men and women who died here at least once a month. Sometimes I wonder if I hate or praise god or whoever let the internet and social media become what is today instead of sooner, because I’m not sure if this should be able to haunt later generations, but people must bear witness. R.I.P. to you courageous men and women who represented NY and America in every facet of life:

I'm way more shocked and saddened by this now than I was at the time.
It was all that they talked about on TV, but I didn't watch it. All I knew was that two planes crashed into the buildings and many people died. Just cold, shallow facts.
Then the conspiracy theories showed up, Afghanistan war, Iraq war, terrorist attacks everywhere, thousands of people being killed everywhere, propaganda, nationalism. The 9/11 events felt almost like a myth.
I began seeing the events with a completely different perspective after hearing the calls, seeing the footage from inside the towers, reading about the victims, their families, the perpetrators, the hijacking of the planes etc. Now it feels like I was there, stuck in the floors above the point of impact. Or that I had a loved one in that position.

My husband always says this attack shook America and woke us up. For some time Americans became more friendly and helpful to one another after this attack, I guess it made us realize we are not each other's enemies. But it seems we have forgotten to be kind to each other in most recent years.
The footage of the firefighter at 3:40 is hard to watch. I can't even begin to imagine what was going on in his mind. Just walking around hearing all the alarms going off but nothing he can do.
I don't think he survived. The North Tower came down 3 mins later and I doubt he left the area

Oskar The Grouch I knew a guy who was working at the Marriott. He steered people to the back exit instead of going out the front to the Plaza because people were getting killed by falling debris and falling people. He was chased by the dust cloud all the way to the Ferry.

For those who lost family and friends in this tragedy, I am truly sorry for your loss. Many tears of sorrow have been spilt for those who died. And for those who bravely went into the buildings knowing they would die trying to save others. God bless you.

I'm just trying to get a handle on the fact that someone decided to rebuild them. Ya build the world's third tallest building in the middle of one of the busiest and most tourist built cities in the world, it gets hit by planes and collapse killing thousands and you rebuild it? And not just that, within walking distance of the first Twin Towers? Are they just plain stupid? Even taking terrorism out of the equation, which we shouldn't, all you need is some rando pilot and his plane to decide to kill himself or lose control and ya get this. No building is plane-proof and the taller they make these buildings, the more people will die.
The shot of the hotel cut in half with the other tower still standing next to it, when you know that one is about to come down too, is rather unnerving.

I remember this day I was in math class and my teacher told us The World Trade Center was being attacked and rolled a TV on wheels into the classroom she put the news I couldn't believe it moments later my father went to pick me up and took me home

We were evacuated from our classrooms, and my mom showed up 5mins after to pick me and 4 of my classmates (4th grade). We didn't know what was happening until we got back to the house and turned the tv on. One of the kids that came with us (we weren't friends) fell to his knees crying. He later told us that his sister was there visiting. He lost her that day. Til' this very day, I have never gotten that moment out of my head. We became really good friends since. I can't imagine how everyone else felt with this horrific event.
I can't remember anything about that day apart from reading the newspapers from the newsagents opposite my Secondary school, which finished at 3:20pm UK time, just 20 minutes after the first tower had collapsed, the newspapers had already been printed and distributed.
Talking of rolling in the TV on wheels, I remember at Primary School we couldn't watch whatever we were supposed to be watching one day, as apparently someone had walked in the school, got the TV and video player which was at the end of the 2nd floor (3rd floor if you're American) if I remember correctly, and walked back out again without anyone noticing, even though you have to sign in at the reception at the top of the outside stairs on the 1st floor.
I'd guess he signed in with a fake name pretending to be a parent of a kid, and walked out of the fire exit at the bottom of the 2nd set of stairs, as it doesn't make sense how he got away with it otherwise.

I am portuguese, so to us the attaks happened around 2PM, the lunch-time news were already in its closing moments. I remember that day so well, that morning i was in school to "register for classes" and so after that i went home. When i saw the 2nd plane hit i got scared but my father was saying it was a replay from the first plane crash (how dumb was that) I spent the rest of the day watching CNN and Sky News until 11 or 12PM. I was so shocked!! little did i know, the world was goingto be so much different from that moment on.
The world changed from that day forward, and i wish that never happened...
I am from India i was their with my uncle nearby everyone heard an explosion no one understood what happened until all heard screams and the chunks from building were falling down on street then all started running.
Everyone was screaming. Some came under the chunk and were stuck and it was all chaos. Screams, confusion amd chaos everywhere i saw bravery of local police and firefighters. And in a few minutes dust was everywhere.
After that it's was an environment of chaos for immigrants especially Muslims and many people even considered me Muslim(not against Islam or any religion) and blamed me for that but I understand. Then there were protests and chaos for many days. My uncle told me not to get out of house. Few days laater we were called from a nearby police station and we went there and there were all the immigrants from other countries.
And they were asking why are you here and whats the purpose of your visit and what have you done in past days and all that. Even my neighbours used to see me like i am a terrorist and all as people didn't knew what hindu is and all that and also coz I look like middle eastern.
I remember all of it and it was crazy and very bad for families of victims and i remember that few children also died.

Rockzzzv Yeah my family’s Muslim and Middle Eastern and my mom told me that a nearby Masjid where they lived in Queens got vandalized and destroyed after 9/11, the hate has gone away mostly after while but it’s hard when you go places and sometimes people look at you mistrustingly cause your mom wears a hijab and it’s just surreal cause I was born around 6 years after 9/11 and I just can’t imagine seeing New York the place I live like that, like out of a disaster movie. This shook the world. I live in the UK & saw it on the news. We were all shocked as it looked like something out of a disaster movie. The emotions I felt for everyone in New York on that day & after was deep pure sadness. I felt helpless that I couldn't help. In 2005 I had a trip to NY & my first thing to do on the list was go straight to Ground Zero. Got a taxi at 7 am & stood at the fence to pay my respects. It was overwhelming especially going on the escalator that was left. Looking at the empty sight with diggers & rubble. I felt for all those families who lost their loved ones & those who experienced the trauma. Love & prayers to everyone ❤️🙏
The rubble was cleared by 2005 and the escalator was in storage.
My friend Jessie lived by the towers when they were hit. He said the ground shook and windows blew out of buildings for miles around. When the buildings fell people were thrown feet through the air. Blood stains on the ground that had once been people. His brother ended up committing suicide when a jumper blew up on the ground in front of him and Jessie was never the same. I tried keeping in touch with him to help him through it until he too committed suicide. I remember this like yesterday and still cannot watch these videos without crying. I live in ohio next to new york. Later found out one of the planes coming back flew over ohio. Worst thing i have ever seen in my 46 years of life. I remember everything i did that day.

The scariest part of the video is the ending. You see all the remains of the tower on the ground thinking this was after both towers fell... the only for the camera to pan out and you see the other tower is still standing. We’re here watching knowing what’s coming next. 19 years and I still think of this day almost every day.
That bent "turn" sign at the end, replaced a left turn sign you saw if you were traveling east on the Westside Highway towards the towers, that directed you to what USED to be underground parking at the north tower, before the '93 bombing. I took that left turn, & parked many times....right where the bomb truck parked. It wasn't my time to go then, & during the many subsequent dinners I had at Windows On The World restaurant up top, it wasn't my time then either. R I.P. to those who were murdered there.
3:51, I've never seen this footage, as the first tower has fallen, decimating the WTC Marriott, but the other tower is still there. Amazing footage so close up, and it's very surprising that that firefighter was able to get so close to the base of the towers so soon after the first collapse.
The last clip is chilling, knowing that tower is soon to collapse..

World Trade Center building #7 (which you see here) a 50 some story building across the street from the towers, that wasn’t even hit by a plane and it came down in exactly the same manner as the WTC towers hours later. Amazing. You never hear about it. Wonder why a 50 floor structure just fell. No raging inferno, no plane striking core beams. Amazing!

I was 9 years old when this happened. The teachers had us go to the school library to watch what was happening on the TV then we were sent home early from school. I came home and watched the news until I got sleepy and then woke up around 2:00 the next morning and they were still broadcasting the rescue and recovery effort. I hope I never experience something like this ever again.

I was a 15 yo, living 2,500 miles away watching the events unfold in my living room all day into the next. It was all so surreal and it still resonates with me today.
I can’t even imagine what it was like to be one of those people in it. Every year I wonder how it effected them later in life.

I was watching footage today on the History channel and while these poor firefighters are gathered in the lobby of the first building trying to come up with an impossible game plan, every few seconds they’d hear a really loud thud, followed by the sound of broken glass. It was the sound of bodies from those who jumped smashing into the lobby roof and each time it happened, all of these hardened firefighters would get startled like someone just fired off a gun.......until they got used to it. Then they marched up to their deaths. Wherever we go after this life, I hope those guys all have the best seats in the house

@@Notorious2PacOG It's the Naudet Brothers Documentary, not sure if it's the same one but it does have clips of firefighters in the lobby, as well as the crashing outside. It also happens to have the only video of the first plane hitting the north tower.
That high pitch sound like a bug at 3:30 is actually a device that signifies when a firefighter is no longer moving...

Can you imagine if this occurred today where social media has become a staple in everyday life for the average person? I find it hard to see what footage we have and listen to those who managed to make their way to a telephone. So, seeing someone who found themselves stuck trapped in one of the buildings is unthinkable. Facebook live, But, seeing it as it occurred on Instagram live, Twitter, RUclips live, and just standard message posting would have to be hideous.

I have wondered if it might have saved people, if they’d seen tweets of just how bad it was from the outside and they got the hell out of there immediately. People weren’t told to evacuate as quickly as they should have been, under the protocols in place. By the time the full picture came together it was too late.
At the end of the day, New Yorkers realized that international buildings can become the scary things ever create when they move
I still can’t believe this happened. I remember the shock and disbelief that day and I still feel that even twenty-one years later.
pretty random dad to say this but. My neighbor worked in one of the towers (must have been the south) he came to work that day thinking it would be a normal work day. It would have been the total opposite. After the plane hit the north tower everyone was in panic in the south he explained. Many people were told to stay in the towers, at first a lot of people thought it was an accident, but it wasn’t. Fortunately, he was able to push through the hordes of terrified employees and got out, and at that moment he ran. At that point he looked back and saw the next plane rock the south tower, and he immediately drove out of there. He was able to escape. I was told to never talk about this horrific event around him. For it was very traumatic and depressing because he lost his close friends. This year in school I had to do a raffled curriculum project when I picked it was 9/11. I didn’t want to read all of these articles about this, so stupidly I asked him. He was very open about his experience with it. I learned much more info from him. It was very courageous and strong to talk about something so trauma inducing. My father was also very sad about this because most of the clients he used to work with him in the towers died. He described the towers as amazing. It was an amazing view and it was packed with kind employees every day. My absolute deepest condolences to all the families and victims of this horrible tragedy in our history.

I remember waking up on my birthday and waving to my dad bye as he went to work in twin tower two and he got stuck in traffic just outside of work unfortunately he was stuck in the aftermath when they both collapsed he was diagnosed for lung cancer about 2 months later on his birthday and when my little sister was born he died 6 months later RIP Papa ❤

These videos are so chilling and terrifying. Knowing that at that precise moment so many innocent people were killed. There are probably more heroes that were not aware of. People who helped inside but never got out themselves, but saved lives while doing so. I can't imagine what the family members of the people who worked there were going through. The helpless feelings, the pain, and the anger knowing they couldn't help, or even comfort them. There are so many emotions that I've felt while watching these videos. From deep sadness, anger, rage of how so many people can take lives without remorse. Sorrow for the families, friends, and others who knew those people. Fear, knowing the fear they had, knowing they may never see their families again, their kids, wives, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, and other people in their lives. Terror, sadness, pain, and helplessness watching as people chose to jump from above the impact zone to avoid the fires and smoke. Then utter disbelief as the buildings fell, and knowing everyone inside was probably gone. This tragic and sickening attack was cowardly, pathetic, and an act of war. Killing over 3,000 innocent people in such a horrific way, while the one who orchestrated it hid in caves while he declared victory? That ANGERED me and it kept angering me for some time after. These terroristic attacks were aimed at issues that NONE of those people had anything to do with. In war they call it "collateral damage"? I call it cowardice bulls**t! All the conspiracy theories about this are also frustrating. In the end, innocent people had to suffer and die because of cowardly acts of terrorism. Families had to watch their loved ones perish in horrific fashions and ways. As far as conspiracy theories go, I will say this. Had the FBI, the CIA, the DOD, and ANY OTHER agency that knew or HAD INFORMATION about a potential attack or something like that, HAD THEY SHARED INFORMATION ABOUT IT WITH ONE ANOTHER instead of wanting to be THE ONE'S who stopped it, maybe, JUST MAYBE they could have been able to somehow stop it BEFORE it happened? Again I'm not saying that the conspiracy theories are real! All I meant was our government agencies didn't want to share their thoughts and information, and I'm sure nobody would have cared WHO GOT CREDIT for stopping it, had that hhappened. It's sad how wanting the glory and credit can make your become a moron.

You can see him in Mark LaGanga's videos from the time between Tower 2 & Tower 1 collapsed. The whole event seems like something out of a movie something you would never imagine happening in your dreams let alone real life. I feel so bad for those stuck in the towers with no hope of coming out alive. Rest in peace to those innocent souls.
That’s exactly what it felt like watching it happen - it was surreal. It was exactly like watching a scene from a movie but haunting as hell.
At 3:40 you see the fireman walking through rubble from what was I think the Marriott and the other tower is still standing. What a snap shot in time. The first tower fell and the Firemen were still trying to help others. Clearly putting themselves in harms way not knowing what they could be facing in the next few minutes. Bravery and Dedication at the highest level.
WTC 7 probably still would’ve still been standing due to the fire alarm in the background

Hearing the firefighter body alarms beeping in the distant is so sad.... my father used to be a firefighter and he talked about that sound. It’s the realization to know that whoever’s body that alarm is on... it hasn’t moved an inch. The year is now 2020 and I still think about this day often. When I was younger I always loved hearing my elders share their stories of the war... or Pearl Harbor... The Kennedy’s... etc. Well when Sept 11th happened I realized at that moment that I was living in a future historical event... one that dramatically impacted our country & life. Now today I am the one who gets the opportunity to share my stories... and what I remember. I will never forget this day...

I was 16 when this happend. I live in Tucson Arizona but i remember u could just feel the anger and sadness in the air. It was a horrible day. God bless all the family's that lost a loved one.
A lot of photographers took a lot of abuse that day for taking pictures & video. In the unbelievable emotion of the moment, that’s totally understandable.
But kids born on that day are in college now. They have no living memory of it. This is what we have left. This is the historical record. If we really want them to “never forget”, if we want them to understand the gravity of that event in all of its raw emotion, we should also be grateful to the photographers who make that possible. They captured and preserved that day so we can truly remember all of the heroes they way they deserve.

Tiffany Michelle I’m pretty sure that this is after the first building collapsed. I think he was in the second building and idk if he knew that the first building collapsed or not bc I know that a lot of people in there didn’t know it even collapsed until they went outside and saw.
His name is William Bennette and he did survive. He also got in pretty serious trouble after getting a commendation for his actions on 9/11 helping people get out. He was with the Secret Service and was head of the motor pool.
Anyway, there were several Secret Service vehicles that he reported as crushed during the WTC collapse that were actually fine, and he removed them and gave them to family members among other things lol.
It's pretty crazy. He was also a retired NYPD sergeant.
Google his story. I just found it myself. This video is a clip of a much longer video you can find here on RUclips where the camera man asks him his name and he identifies himself as William Bennette with the Secret Service.

My Grandad's boss' daughter was in the first tower when it was hit. Luckily for her she was on a low floor so she could get out in time, but my Grandad and his boss was watching the news as it all unfolded, and just as the second tower was hit on live TV his daughter managed to call him to let him know she was okay. The first thing her dad asked after he had stopped cursing from relief was if he could have an interview from her (they worked at a newspaper print lol)
Imagine working there and on your day off you watch the towers fall and knowing, your friends might have just died. This is so sad. 😔

Such desolation in one of the most populated cities in the America. And that incessant alarm. I don’t know how that one gentleman was able to remain there. Alone. In that moment.
This footage always sent shivers down my spine.
Rest In Peace to everyone who died that day and many thanks to the first responders helping people and rushing in to the building I thank you all I wasn’t even born when this happened but I can’t imagine the terror and fear on those people on the plane and the building were like. Also the choice of them burning to death or jumping I can’t imagine feeling that Decision making.
Just watched United 93 on Netflix. Felt so helpless and stressed watching it all. It’s so clear that no one knew what to do and the whole country felt the same helpless feeling. Watching this footage makes me so sick to my stomach. Imagine being on those planes or in these buildings knowing you’re going to die. People can complain all they want but all the safety precautions we go through at the airports these day are oh so necessary. I pray this never happens again

EVERY survivor said that as soon as they jumped, they regretted their decision. can you imagine these people jumping from the twin towers, only to regret it as soon as they jumped? they have a loong time to feel that regret.
The little ringing you can hear at the end when the firefighters walking in the rubble are the rings of the firefighters alert units that sound when a fire fighter hasn’t moved for 30 seconds all of them are going off at once

I was a Bloomberg employee then; we lost three of our own who were at the Windows On The World restaurant to present a seminar. In fact the place was packed with atendees, apart from the restaurant staff. One of three was actually subbing for another from his team, who had a medical emergency and called him at the last minute to go in his place. I guess when it is your time to go, it is your time to go. How about your friend, is he still alive and kicking?
I still can't believe how quickly those beautiful buildings were turned into dust in a matter of seconds. Must have been beyond terrifying for all those trapped inside.

my grandpa was watching everything unfold on television and he said that it felt like he was watching a movie and he couldn't believe what he was watching.
