I really like the concept for the story but I'm not a fan of all the screen clutter they polluted the gameplay with. I hope there is an option to turn off the HUD
Developer that did this has 4 years of mobile phone game experience. Anyone suprised? 😂. Rest of the game looks like it made of some AA studio at best. I bet the majority of the old developers that made arkham series is long gone.

The funny thing is that Rocksteady did wanna do this, you cause they did before a shoter multiplayer game so this is them wanting to return to their REAL rutes, that and they were given the gaming ip of the suicide squad so they used some code of their previous multiplayer TPS shoter, and they microtransactions are there probably cause of David zaslav

I think the game looks fun, I think was is visually turning everyone off, is the visual pickup and damage numbers, they should take those out and it won't change the game, they should do the pickups like spiderman ps4 when you get more equipment as you take out enemys. And they should get rid of the damage numbers all together. I think if they took the visual rpg elements out of the game, it would not change the game and it will be more appealing to fans of the arkham games
Kinda, but its also bullet spammy - just shooting and blowing up waves of enemies. Arkham combat was more than that, it was about stylish combos and reactions.
When a game is overly marketed this much it just sends me Anthem vibes lol. I really wish devs understood not EVERY game in EVERY genre needs a loot system for progression.

Honestly, for me at least, I'm getting arkham x risk of rain 2 vibes. I love ror2 so I really dig the game so far based on this video since I barely found out about the game. I just hope it's not buggy af like that one vampire game, I think it was called Red Fall? But if big corpos are breathing down the dev teams necks 24/7 I can get why some stuff may go unfinished. I feel like some people wanna make a good game but theyre always getting rushed. It's like the super hero movie industry lately :'). (But if thats not the case with them then... 🤷♀️ Idk how to defend) But I think why most people don't like this is cause they want more arkham styled stuff. And I dont blame anyone. Those games are very solid, and I do wish they could make more some how. Or like someone else said, an arkham styled Batman Beyond game would be so cool! the main problem with this game is that it has arrived at least 10 years later. Now superheroes and that kind of gameplay are not that popular ( at least for the people who enjoy playing single player games like the previous batman arkham games)

I think I see what's going on here. People were wanting/expecting your standard Arkham/Spiderman type game, what they delivered was actually more akin to an ARPG like Diablo or Borderlands. Once the ARPG community gets their hands on this, and the build possibilities are deep, this game will garner a different kind of playerbase that will help it succeed.
Probably but I’m a big borderlands and arkham fan and this gameplay looks like a chore. Shooting at a big bullet sponge until it dies, then shooting enemies that are all identical and lifeless. Add on to that the walls of text and coloured numbers in the menus
I love Sunset Overdrive. What I’m relieved about most is that people are now saying that the story mode is excellent. To me the footage looks great of the gameplay as well, hope it’s as fun to actually play. But I preordered it already just for the storyline

Takes some mastering and the ceiling is very very high for every character (ESPECIALLY HARLEY). Like the OP said, if you liked Sunset Overwatch (which I did) you will love this game (which I do so far).
Sunset overdrive didnt have the bloat and tiresome overbloated RPG elements and was oozing with style, i dont see any of this in this new Rocksteady title.
That's what I want to know. Batman's grapnel worked just fine in the previous games, I don't get why it couldn't work like that. She's literally springing off of the air half the time here. And there's *ZERO* fall damage, looks like 🤦♂...
I played it. The alpha introduction was segmented strangely so I’m neglecting that part. From then onwards the review is easy. The alpha contained much of the same elements of the gameplay videos you’ve seen. Although we didn’t get to fight the phase of flash shown or see Ivy. Well at least I didn’t. (Or fly cars) If the gameplay looks fun to you then you’ll enjoy yourself. SSKTJL mashes a lot of elements from other looter shooters, it plays well but very rigid. It echos borderlands with loot structure but carried the trope ( I hate) mission reward splash screens. Which is my biggest peeve. It ruined the mission flow ( next topic ). On mission completion your 4 villains would stand on a roof top talking to Amanda > cutscene > mission reward screen > check loot> all before you return for the next objective, THESE WERE COMPULSORY. Moving on to the missions and gameplay. In the alpha ( from memory ) we had grenades, shields, guns obvs, melee and some mod things. The only real way to farm in the alpha was replay stages, the open world wasn’t fruitful ( next topic ) The missions were generic as they come. But the gameplay is sometimes very fun and surprisingly tricky. You go > your shoot > you collect > you go back > sometimes guard > cutscene > mission screen > call > open world. The open world is a sandbox. With buildings to zip around And clusters of enemies but it somehow feels more lifeless than even Gotham knights. There’s only enemies and they all look purple. I wish there was screaming civilians *redacted*. But anything any sort of other fodder. Literal same problem the first film had. We’re villains shooting aliens to save the world. But I am so looking forward to putting 500 hours into this game. Playing all the events and perfecting my build. There’s space for this kind of click shoot action now. I understand why the Devs defend it. Because it is as fun as it looks. It’s not to be taken as the next goth hero action set piece. It’s a game you play with your friends, smashing enemies and loosing hours and hours fighting loot mechanics to get a slightly higher DPS boomerang. I can’t wait X
What gets me is people complaining about this game and its not even out ,I am looking forward to it and thank the people putting so many years into the development ,Its going to be a fun game and a different perspective that we need now the only thing i can think that will be a problem is pay to win??? or end game content ?? The numbers popping up, the mod system that's akin to Destiny 2, the artstyle clashing with the gameplay (it looks good but plays like Fortnite?), and the dissonance that you are playing villains should you really should have blood. This game is going to be lucky to get a 6/10.
RIP Rockesteady, it is still hard to believe we waited almost 9 years just to get a GaaS. I bet they are closing it down after this flop. The bad thing is that pretty sure they are not going to fire the team of execs that decided this should be a GaaS.

At least what seems to be almost universal after the NDA lifted is the positive feedback on the storyline. And the feedback on the gameplay seems to suddenly be more positive in general now as well since yesterday. I preordered it after hearing 10 RUclipsrs who played the alpha say that the story is just as great as the Arkham games. And most of those RUclipsrs enjoyed the gameplay as well. Many concerned with Harley’s traversal and hope her gameplay is improved with patches or could just be that with the right build and leveling up she gets better. But many enjoyed the other three characters. I’ll play as Harley anyway lol because she and Poison Ivy are just my favorite characters from the villain side.
It’s going through a hate campaign cause its not another basic Batman Arkham game. I swear, people don’t want game developers to be original and creative anymore and just beat one cash cow over and over and over into the ground.

I have seen time and time again how these games, but I cannot ignore either side of the conversation. This game has its negative sides but it also has its positives. And sadly, people in this day and age will always decry any positive feedback for the sake of seeing something fail just because its not what they want. Rocksteady has been working on this game for almost a decade, and they have shown nothing but confidence for the product they have created. So, as the consumer they are wanting to please, and as a tester of the alpha build that was released months ago, I can easily say that confidence is not misplaced. This game is bound to please fans of DC and fans of the Arkhamverse as long as people give it a chance.
I just don't get it. How can you have Rocksteady make a "sequel" of sorts to the brilliant Arkham games, and decide to make it a shooter with a battle pass. It makes Gotham Knights looking like fantastic game in comparison

What gets me is people complaining about this game and its not even out ,I am looking forward to it and thank the people putting so many years into the development ,Its going to be a fun game and a different perspective that we need now the only thing i can think that will be a problem is pay to win??? or end game content ?? Hopefully we can replay boss battles for the best gear drops and secret bosses and hopfully team raids ,games like dcuo and ff have lasted a decade because of all the extra content ,if they follow the avengers recipe it will die very fast
The point of promotional gameplay is so people can make judgements before spending their money on a game.

The numbers popping up, the mod system that's akin to Destiny 2, the artstyle clashing with the gameplay (it looks good but plays like Fortnite?), and the dissonance that you are playing villains should you really should have blood. This game is going to be lucky to get a 6/10.

At least what seems to be almost universal after the NDA lifted is the positive feedback on the storyline. And the feedback on the gameplay seems to suddenly be more positive in general now as well since yesterday. I preordered it after hearing 10 RUclipsrs who played the alpha say that the story is just as great as the Arkham games. And most of those RUclipsrs enjoyed the gameplay as well. Many concerned with Harley’s traversal and hope her gameplay is improved with patches or could just be that with the right build and leveling up she gets better. But many enjoyed the other three characters. I’ll play as Harley anyway lol because she and Poison Ivy are just my favorite characters from the villain side.
It’s going through a hate campaign cause its not another basic Batman Arkham game. I swear, people don’t want game developers to be original and creative anymore and just beat one cash cow over and over and over into the ground.

@@slvrcobra1337 Absolutely not. However, Rocksteady has the potential to actually do something like this and it works. I have seen time and time again how these games, but I cannot ignore either side of the conversation. This game has its negative sides but it also has its positives. And sadly, people in this day and age will always decry any positive feedback for the sake of seeing something fail just because its not what they want.
Rocksteady has been working on this game for almost a decade, and they have shown nothing but confidence for the product they have created. So, as the consumer they are wanting to please, and as a tester of the alpha build that was released months ago, I can easily say that confidence is not misplaced. This game is bound to please fans of DC and fans of the Arkhamverse as long as people give it a chance.
Going from Arkham knight to this is not a good sign
I just don't get it. How can you have Rocksteady make a "sequel" of sorts to the brilliant Arkham games, and decide to make it a shooter with a battle pass. It makes Gotham Knights looking like fantastic game in comparison

It looks fun until you play it yourself. It becomes repetitive in just a few hours gameplay.
@mohdsalmand1385 Every game known to man becomes repetitive eventually. Honkai, Elden Ring, Lies of P, DMC5, Destiny 2, FF16 and many more. It all depends weather you enjoy the core loop of a game enough to continue. Even Sunset Overdrive. Stop with these dumb comments

It's great to see raw gameplay 3 weeks before release of the game this is similar to marvel's avengers marketing strategy except they showed the same demo multiple times
I hope the game turns out to be a good surprise and better than 3 expected.

This will never absolutely never be a game which people will play for years. So as a live service it failed and among rocksteady fans it has also failed.
