@@motorsportfan Thanks :) If you are looking to get a camcorder, the HC-VXF1 will be a much more useful camera as it has the manual focus ring and manual focus assist, which makes shooting from areas obscured with some or full fencing much easier. I've found lately however that I most likely need a 60FPS 4K camera and 1 inch sensor so I can do night events, will still be sticking with Panasonic for that too.
@@MotorsportArchives Is the auto focus on the VX1 no good? I’ve just been looking at one as it had optical zoom, iPhone is good but digital zoom is rubbish.
@@motorsportfan The VX1 is either fully automatic focus, or manual focus via the touch screen, but its not progressive, so you need to tap it about 20 times to get it into focus for events like sprint cars behind the full wire fence, and each time the camera turns off you loose that setting. They solved that on the VXF1, with two focus rings (big one on the front, and smaller finger wheel on the front left of the main case) both let you do the focus adjustments in less than a second, and on screen it has a "heat map" that shows where your focus is sharpest, so the VXF1 is far superior to the VX1. I was very disappointed I didn't realise that before buying the VX1, so definitely go for the VXF1, it will make filming from behind fencing really fast and easy, almost like the fence isn't even there. In terms of all the other specs on the camera, it's identical to mine, apart from having an eyepiece added too, but I doubt that will be needed often. Feel free to jump on my FB page and take a look at the setup I use now, I posted some photos of it on saturday. Drop me a message there if you like so we can chat easier
Get Calder park back up and running bring all the big races back on! Needs some touches like pain jobs and more
Great spot, too bad I wasn’t allowed down the end of the straight! What camera do you use?
Panasonic HC-VX1, but probably upgrading soon, it has it's limitations for motorsport, but still good value.
@@MotorsportArchives Well the footage looks great, awesome for the price that’s for sure.
