Matthieu Fankhauser Yes, the Beatles spread a strong message of love in most of there work, but they are known as some of the best songwriters ever just because they are. Listen to Revolver, that one seems more up your ally.
+Matthieu Fankhauser ...you're clearly not familiar with any of The Beatles' stuff. They were pioneers of experimentation- singing about politics, protest, breaking social and sexual convention, challenging the ideas of love, violence, peace and drugs. Plus their music is amazing. (see Sgt. Peppers and Abbey Road just to name a very few). They aren't the greatest band in the world for no reason.

What a fucking legend, this tune is so killer
As one who's loved great rock and roll for a long, LONG time, I have to say--this chick is phenomenal. After reading just the comments on this page (not reading any of the others), I'm surprised no one else has compared her with Chrissie Hynde. The first thing I thought when I heard this song for the first time on KCRW out of Santa Monica. Chrissie's not out of the scene yet, but Courtney is definitely "picking up where Chrissie's leaving off." In fact, I can't help wondering not only if Courtney's a fan of Chrissie, but how cool it would be if they got onstage and performed together. At any rate, she's talented, she's energetic, as someone else pointed out she can pen a great lyric....if the music industry doesn't end up ruining her or burning her out, I'd say she she's got a long and VERY happy future ahead of her. Rock on, sweetie.

Kurt did stuff like taking 5 minute long breaks to destroy the set and spit in the camera, while the song was still going. I just can't imagine Courtney doing that. I can't imagine Kurt playing Pedestrian at Best, I can't imagine Courtney playing tourette's. Courtney's still pretty good, though.
