I went to a police station open day, at Bethnal Green police station in 1990. They had this video playing as part of the open day. I started watching, and was then joined by a couple of local traffic officers. One of them made a comment that still makes me laugh to this day. "I bet he had a sweaty arse when he got there"! 😂👍
I remember this being on the news, i used to drive a Rover 3500, they were quick and handled really well, you see the driver lean on the car at the end, he must have been mentally exhausted, great job

The reason this wasn't flown in by helicopter was that there was no air ambulance and there had been a police helo crash that had caused the fleet to be grounded. Hence they could only go by road.

The liver had came from Hull , was driven to Humberside Airport across the Humber Bridge, along the A15. This takes about 20mins normally so on blue lights probably 10-15mins. I had a late ex Sussex Police pursuit SD1, which got written off on the A11, when I had a Sierra go under me at traffic lights, and left it banana shaped and the rear axle ripped off. It had uprated suspension, self levelling suspension, a stage one engine, Michelin TRX tyres. Super fast car, (censored) down the A1, and I drove it fast everywhere of course, over the Fens to work. They did a cracking job, albeit with a lot of help from other officers, car and motorcycles closing junctions and clearing the way.
