Hello! I also couldn't find the problem for two days... I have a VPS with Ubuntu 22.04 and the Hestia control panel installed. But I was very lucky to have found your video! I hope this CRM is worth it 😂 I sent your video to several users on the forum who had the same problem as me. I hope you don't mind and your video will help someone else too))
Thanks for sharing! I'm glad it worked for you. I've been using SuiteCRM for almost 10 years. It's a great CRM and the community is very supporting, yes it has it's shortcomings, but all in all, it like a swiss army knife, it does everything.
At 15:14 you just magically load the running site even though there is no index.php or index.html file in the web root (top level zip extracted files). What juju is this???
I went through the installation steps but when i go to the URL i see a list of files and directories. Not the installation setup. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks for the video
thank´s for your video and explanation, but i didn't´d had success. I receive a 403 error (forbidden) when I open install page. have you some idea what happed?
Sounds like permissions. Did you reset your permissions and file ownerships? Other than that, if you put a file like test.html in the root directory where SuiteCRM is installed can you navigate and see the contents of that file?
Aaaaargh! So frustrating. I get that stupid alert at the top and it never proceeds past that point. Even if I tell it to use sample data it stops and redisplays that alert. When I look at the Javascript console I see angular.js errors. Does anyone have a solution?
I get the alert, yet it still works. SuiteCRM 8 has lots of little issues like this at the moment. You might want to try SuiteCRM 7 for maybe a little while longer. Understand SuiteCRM 8 is a completely new architecture that is only a couple of years old since inception. vs. SuiteCRM 7 which has been around in one form or another for almost 30 years.
In that cPanel , I have Softaculous, which help me do it in 1-2 min, without other inputs or file permissions. My inputs were just the name of database, user, pass, and that's all. The Softaculous auto installer toke care of everything else. Version installed 8.2.3 on PHP 7.4, MySQL 5.7.41, The only issue(Error occurred while fetching metadata) I have is a inbound mail module not being able to setup.
I don't recommend the softalicious or Installatron method. I frequently get issues like you describe, mostly due to file permissions and ownerships being incorrect.
Yes as many as you want. I have several. They don't event have to be in different subdomains, just different folders. ie: mydomain.com/suitecrm1, mydomain.com/suitecrm2, etc.
I originally tried to upgrade from version 7 to 8 but that completely messed things up, I had to delete SuiteCRM. Tried multiple times to install SuiteCRM 8 from scratch but failed at every attempt. Kept getting a 403 message no matter what I did. The program is not worth the frustration so I have given up. Too bad my host got rid of the self-install SuiteCRM, the only CRM they have there now is VTiger.
Give SutieCRM 7 a try. It's completely stable, easy to install and runs super fast. SuiteCRM 8 is not really at the stage yet where I'd recommend it for production use unless you have a very experienced technical team behind it to manage server issues and be able to troubleshoot these kinds of problems.
@@iGoSalesandMarketing Thanks. I gave up on SuiteCRM and created a database that works well for my needs. I enjoyed SuiteCRM very much but those days are gone now.

That's how it works! No magic needed.

Sounds like you don't have mod_rewrite enabled on your web server. Please check that this is enabled. The root should redirect to the login.

Thank you Paul
Can I have more than ONE CRM inside my server? I guess yes on different SUBDOMAINS?

I've seen a few people post Pᵣₒmₒˢᵐ or some version of that. What does it mean?
