I cannot fathom the thought process of someone who sees two random wires hanging out, and says "I know, I'll connect those two together, because that's *obviously* how they're supposed to be."

I can only say that the wiring diagram from cat was excellent and even had a note about the arm switches being connected in the up position. Also if someone tells you that they didn't touch anything other than the starter, maybe they did and maybe they didn't

Tip of the day: the blade is for stabilizing, not for pushing. These things can’t really push anything because they are so light and don’t get any traction. My ecr58 is six ton machine and has the same problem. But it’s great when you lower it before operating the boom.

not mini. I use that blade in forward/revesre dragging. It can dig in and push a lot of dirt at one time but it does move dirt.
FWIW I really want to get. a Cat 302.5 vs my volvo since parts are much easier to get than with cat or even JD and Jubota.

Thanks for the information, I'm going to be in the market for a mini exe, thought about buying a cat with a blown motor and rebuild it. Since I have a local dealer for parts. But they are like 40k plus for a used one in CA.

The prices have just gone nuts lately for real. I see on Andrew Camerata's channel that he has a few older Yanmar machines that he seems to love. If you see my other mini excavator video on the grey market mitsubishi, I would not really recommend getting a grey market machine for anything other than a homeowner toy. The other issue with a machine with a blown motor is that due to epa restrictions manufacturers can't make new engines so they can be very pricey and hard to get if it isn't rebuildable. Good luck, let me know what you end up with!

Ahh yes the old, I'm gonna help my buddy change the battery... 3 years later we've replaced the entire vehicle venture. Prepare to replace nearly everything lol.

Hey! I might resemble that remark, actually being as this machine has hydraulic joysticks and a mechanical injection pump, there just isn't that much wiring and electrical in the whole machine.

16:40 it’s not standard, there are imperial and metric systems. Latter is officially called SI-system.

    • @tujuprojects

      Système international d'unités, abbreviated SI

Not sure if you're US based but here anyhow standard means imperial. I can see how its confusing if you aren't familiar with the slang. I am liking it so hopefully anyone else confused will see it.

@@wirestiresandfires214 if you dig deeper, you’ll find that US measurement standards aren’t defined with Barley seeds these days. There it says that inch is 25,4 millimiters and so on. Go and dig NIST documents.

I had my cat rewired and after just about 50 hours flashing lights, relay switch clicking, and engine stalls. Sometimes won’t shut if except Manuel shut off.

I'd hazard a guess that it's likely the harness is chafed through to the bare wire somewhere the loom passes through a bulkhead. Was the rewiring done with an oem replacement, or was it done by hand? Hopefully it's an easy fix.

This is exactly why I bit the bullet and bought a new Kubota

If you brought a machine like this to the dealer and said fix everything, I think you could end up within a shout of a new machine. Have you liked your Kubota so far?

SANY seems to be good also. I was quoted out a 26k for mini and I have 3 dealers like within 40miles of each other. The 5 year warranty is very good fwiw.

I’m curious on the price, I just leased a new next gen cat for 5 years with ext. warranty, I think I made the right decision.

Well, it's not my machine so I don't want to say real prices, but he saved about10k by my estimation as I've seen similar units going for 26-35k in my neck of the woods. It's a little older than some at 2001 but the 1000ish hours on the clock is the lowest I've seen.

The hour meter does still work, I think it just had a pretty careless previous owner, though it wouldn't surprise me if an hour or thousand has sneaked past the meter. The engine starts right up without glowplugs and the joints are all pretty tight.

lol, look I can put on a bikini and run it, but I doubt that's close enough.
