Hello there.
In this video, we are going to take a look at the Data 7 embroidery conversion tool.
This is a very inexpensive little tool that allows you to convert your embroidery files in groups.
So, I'm just going to open one of my designs. And, usually I set up separate file folders with each of the different file formats.
So, I digitize using the Bernina software. It allows me to save them as PES files. The ART version doesn't show up here. The software doesn't recognize it. But, it's ok because I save my ART versions in the Bernina Artista software and I also save a PES version.
Once I make my PES version, I can click on it and I can do "Save". It will let me convert a JEF file or a PES (or any other embroidery file format). I can right click and Save. And when you do a Save you see all of these other formats listed.
Typically, what I do though, is if I have all my PES files in one folder, then I will right-click and convert all the designs in the folder. And it says "Do you want to convert all the 10 designs in the selected folder. YES" And I pick the folder that I want them to be saved in. So maybe, we'll do XXX, and then OK. And then they are all going to show up right here. So you can see each one of these files has a corresponding XXX version.
What's also nice about this program is when you click on each one of the files, it will show you what all of the different color layers look like. And then you can also the statistics which are the width and the height and the stitch count and the number of colors. So that's a helpful check too. Sometimes I will notice that when I come into this software, I'll notice that I haven't properly combined the elements in my design and so I'll go back to my digitizing program. But this is a nice preview to tell you what exactly the design is comprised of. So that is how the Data 7 embroidery conversion tool works.

Thank you, I have a collection from Great Notion that went out of business now and the files are KWK, I used to open them with a program that worked with Tajima, however, I don't have the Tajima or the program that goes with it. Now I have a different program CAD, but it doesn't open KWK!
Do you have any advice of how to open my collection of designs?

Yes - you can convert to DST files using this program.

Do you know if it's possible to change bernina files to be able to use them on a brother embroidery machine with this software?

IT will not open ART files (Bernina file format) - but in Bernina software -you can save as a PES file (which is Brother). Data 7 software will allow you to export the PES file as many other file formats.

Do you know if I have Bernina files on a thumb drive, is there software to convert it to PES or would that be the program you mentioned? The bernina software? Thank you so much for answering my questions. Not everyone I ask a question to answers me. I appreciate it. :)

If they are EXP - you can convert to PES. It won't read ART files though. @@cmanchel5129
