Such a dedication to get up on the other side and continue your recording. I'll ride this trail this weekend. Thank you!
You're welcome
I checked out this trail last weekend and it was awesome! I referenced your vid before I went. Thanks!
Beautiful drive. Did this 10 years ago in a Honda Fit.
looks like a dangerous crazy roadtrip. :) but with such beautiful spots. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome. That whole area has awesome scenery. I'll be releasing another video of a trail in Santa Barbara soon.
There's nothing particularly dangerous about that road.
@@boblatkey7160 The road is fine you just have to watch out for rattle sneks and skinwalkers
Nice looking area
Check conditions before you go! I tried it an SUV several years ago and the road was so bad near the west end that I popped a sidewall. Further along was impassable even by a 4 wheel drive towtruck. Walked out to where a friend could meet me. A real nightmare and expensive to recover the car. Glad to see that the conditions are better than when I attempted.
Nice trail, I look forward to diving it myself. I hope the rock slide area gets cleared out to make it straight through. I see you also changed the music up a bit.
Is it a loop drive or a back and forth road?
It's out and back. There's a landslide that blocks the road about 7 miles in. Shown in the video here ruclips.net/video/Zn4ivjzqQ5c/видео.html
It looks like the road might be open again according to the website. Does anyone know for sure?
Also on the second day, did you start at Broadcast Peak?
Very cool, I live near by and didn’t know about this trail. Would you say a full size truck could fit? So many trails are too narrow with the overgrown brush. How long did this take you?
Hello, I’ve done this trail plenty of times in my tacoma and my 2nd gen Cummins. You’ll be just fine, although it is closed currently
It also takes about 2 hours
@@lukebenchek6319 I was just getting ready to reply to Fred's comment but you beat me to it. Thanks for helping him out : ).
@@lukebenchek6319thanks for the info. Is there a website that says if it’s open/closed?
@@FredSHerr if you google “west Camino Cielo” it will tell you the trail status. I actually talked to a forest service member when I tried going up there a couple weeks ago. He was saying it should be open late this month or early to mid June :) safe travels if you do go, I hope it opens up sooner rather than later.
P.S. - if you’re worried about the trail being technical, it’s a pretty easy one. Very beautiful with minimal need for 4x4. There are a couple pull outs where you can use 4x for fun though!!
I lived up there for almost 10 years pretty close to where the pavement ends. It still gives me the spooks to this day because me and my girlfriend were sleeping comfortable in our yurt when we heard a gunshot. Later we found out that was Nicolas Markowitz being murdered by lizards mouth. There are sketchy people up there at times. We lived on a beautiful piece of land but our landlord was a lifelong criminal.
That’s crazy!! I just read about it and that’s insane. I’m trying to find a place to rent around that area, you mind sharing who your landlord was or adress to see if I can find something
@@mariodelsolar definitely try 6440 W. Camino Cielo. I think it's still called Tanbark oaks. It is a beautiful piece of land and I have heard that it has gotten better up there as compared to the days that I was up there. The landlord died but I believe his sister owns it but I don't know her name because it's a different last name. Much closer to Highway 154 is a bulletin board next to all of the mailboxes. I think it says Hear Ye. That is a good place to post if you are looking for a place to rent up there. There are some super cool people up there and it is truly an amazing place with weather that is entirely different than down near the coast. Don't move up there if you don't like gnarly winters and gnarly winds and rains. And in the summer extremely hot and lots of bugs. It's wild up there!
Sis has a new (to her) subaru and lives in SB, gonna show her this trail on Sunday if it's not still closed
How long was the second day’s drive up and down?
I'd say about 2 hours up and back.
More Rugged than i expected
