When it’s Disco Citzen you can’t go wrong does what it’s say on the vinyl Trance Anthem absolutely little gem of tune in me top ten this and Lucy Drayton
This is an absolute masterpiece. one of only a few tracks in my world that i fell in love with the second i heard it back then and still love it just as much now. i mean how can you beat Footprint?? well I think he did. just about. they are both amazing and i never tire of either. Those strings ... heavenly.
Yeah to be fair it is hard to stay the same. He probably had a æot of challenges to follow with the times like so many others. His stuff today is indeed meh and here and there a song or two might be nice but not something worthwhile. He still has many fans though that loves hos new stuff but i think ots because they dodnt grow up with the old stuff like us 😅 anyway this one is an absolute favorite.
Wow...didn't know this track by Leftfield but man he didn't just use the same sample (or sampled directly from leftfield) He basically stole the whole track 😅 The bassline, the 4/4 drum groove/kick, the arrangement more or less. Leftield also sampled heavily from others. Being a huge Chicane nerd, I have found so many samples and songs that he used or was almost copying on a 1 to 1 basis. Moby, faithless, Tangerine Dream and many more I cannot remember on the top of my head. But you'd be suprised. He was also in a dispute with strong in love and had to change the vocals a bit. None theless this here is one of my favorites! I wonder now if there is a club mix/extended version of the Leftfield track where he could have lifted the main kick/drums off without bassline etc. (not the breakbeat which he may have sampled directly from the original artist, some 60's/70's record. I have the break somewhere..not sure which record it's from though.
Chicane the only artist besides Jam & Spoon that really can touch your soul with their music. Nagasaki Badger is truly a work of art!
perhaps also the space brothers
An absolutely thumping track. Which I still have on vinyl x2. This brings back many memories of 1998/1999 parties. 🎶🎶🎶 A beautiful composition.
Thank you for making this track so accessible. Good man. Gratefully and graciously appreciated.
Best clubbing times, smoking inside hardly any bouncers and early until 9am. So glad I clubbed in this 10 year period
No law, no restrictions, no drunk n drive checking, no crappy commercial music, no crappy wannabes,no crappy traffic, no crappy vibe at the club
You heard this in a club? That upsets me! Lucky you.
In my top 10 all time, almost perfect.
Almost perfect? Not sure how to improve this... Maybe make the first break a bit longer?
Great tune from a great ea
Era
@@MikeJackson690 make the strings in the latter part come in a bit earlier, that chord progression is pure sex
Those synth strings sound truly magical.
Remember at the time this being pretty hard to get hold of. Definitely up there with my top 10 of all time.
Lethal tune

A class tune.
I remember picking this up purely by chance and being amazed local clubs were not playing it. This was a beast of a track.
Truly classic beautiful track by Chicane Disco Citizens.
From 6:25 onwards it's just a dream.
this was my first record purchase in '98! Thank you for uploading! Memories!
Wow, I'm envious that your very first record was this masterpiece - you have exquisite taste Ethan sir!!!!
Brilliant. A great first vinyl!
11 mins of pure bliss ❤
808 likes ... Love it
I sense elements of disco citizen's remix of chicane offshore.
Reminds me more of Red Skies if anything, but not as good.
0:47 - AVIN IT! Quality track. Takes me back. Good times!
Fantastic track! I love it.
Year 2021 and I am still getting a goosebumps when I hear this tune! Masterpiece!
Harsh thing to say but I just can never understand how Chicane went from absolute solid gold like this, to some of the stuff he does these days.
Makes total sell out shite, has done for like 10 years now. Terrible.
For me, it was when he started to want to add lyrics to most of his songs. They were better when he let the music do the talking instead
I completely agree. Used to be a massive fan back in the day. Now... meh, not so much.

The same track goes by the name of "Flyover" in Chicane's deluxe edition of Thousand Mile Stare. :)
I didn't know that. Thank you for telling me. :)
Sure. Just youtube it, you'd know. :)
+drooleybob
it was a demo copy, the track was officialy released as Nagasaki Badger in 1998.
WELCOME BACK, KOMMANDER
You can hear he's sampled the kick drums from Leftfield's Cut For Life during that first 60 seconds. Great tune!
