When you realize it was actually level creator who cheesed Ryu's submission system into getting Ryu to play a bunch of his levels.

My idea: Viewers find levels with incredible cheese, and it's Ryu's job to find the cheese.

Plot twist: Ryu finds the cheese, but it is not the same one that the viewer found. Insted it's sth much crazier no one saw coming
I've always wanted a cheese or skip run. If you reach the flag without finding any cheese you skip.

In the second level, you could have bypassed the bully boss entirely if you kept your key from the coins and used it on the boss door rather than taking the separate path.
I like how Ryu just casually handles that upside down portion. That would've taken me at least 45 mins

Also the Car part in the first level could be cheesed by my knowledge. Your car doesnt loose hp if you turn around the moment before you hit the block

Yeah I like how he was running underneath the bomb-omb that obviously lead back to the key door while he said that and still didn’t get it hahaha.
I think he was talking more about why it's right next to the start of the level, since the link powerup already comes with bombs and you could just bypass that entirely like he did

Ryu is a badass beautifully bearded wizard and he can detect any level of cheese on any dimension.
He will analyse the cheese and identify all of it's profiles and properties

When he picked the last Link level you can see the played but uncleared flag on the level info screen. He checked the level before what we saw yet he acted like it was his first time.
I don’t think I would’ve noticed that if you didn’t point it out. Interesting... Maybe he got it in an endless run a long time ago and doesn’t remember it? Very possible with how many different levels Ryu plays and the fact that it was uploaded almost a year ago.

Having little cheese is a good thing
There is actually a little cheese in the first level: when you hit blocks with the rear of the car it will break the block, but not your car.
The 2nd level (just to note) was just a test run he stuck up there, someone should just kindly inform Ryu

Not necessarily. Cheese simply means doing a part differently than how the level creator intended. But yeah most of the time cheesing something makes the level easier.
It gives the player an advantage, though. In this case, being able to beat the level if you miss the P-timer.

25:00 - There was an easier way to get in the dry bones shell, but you need to know a little quirk regarding items that start on tracks: When such an item falls off of tracks, it won't interact with anything, including ground - hence why it passed right through the ground the first time and rejoined the track below. However, as soon as the *player* interacts with it, it loses that whole "on a track, so it passes through objects" property. So once you grabbed the shell, you could've simply dropped the dry bones shell onto the ground of spikes and then jumped in - it would no longer pass through the floor after being grabbed by you. FWIW. I work with note blocks on tracks frequently in my music levels, so they're one thing I'm fairly familiar with.
Style points for the way you did it, though - that was pretty sweet.

Ok so now we need a competition between you and RedFalcon- you have the same condition and whoever gets it first loses.
so for people who don't know, ryukahr cheesed that last level hardcore:
he skipped the first setup completely by blowing up the path with links bombs (don't know how that escaped mister "you can't cheese my level"), but by doing that he never activates a switch he is supposed to hit (thereby keeping the switch "on"). The meaning of the level was that you would first go in the bottempipe and do the subarea to get a link costume, to then return to the overworld (I think) with the green pipe that was blocked off with the red switch blocks. With the link costume you needed to go the the top pipe to go in the "big empty room" (as ryukahr says) which is nothing else but just a convoluted way to change the switch block to "on". You should have then returned to the first sub-area where you now could take the path that ryu took right away, because the switches were fucked up.
the next part he entered he also cheesed pretty hard. The meaning (I think) of the level creator was that you would go around and hit the switch (with a bomb or arrow) to let the big muncher fall on the seesaw and do the same thing Ryu did (let the small munch fall through the seesaw and activate the p-switch) making it so that you need to both outrun the p-switch and the poisonlava. But Ryu just did a down attack with link that push the seesaw hard enough to not need to big muncher, completely skipping (again) a part of the level creator.
I'm not sure what the creator intended at the first section, but I'm also pretty sure that ryu still somewhat cheesed that part (with getting the key and hitting the p-switch).
So yeah, technically speaking Ryu did "end" the video when he cheesed a level

Props to the creator for re-uploading "Cold Goat Pass" to remove softlocks. At 10:18, the yellow spike block in the P-switch pit is new (kaizo blocks trap you there), and at 14:29, it was possible to get stuck on top of the semisolids while picking up the last red coin. Great level, though. Too bad the re-upload erased my clear.

I believe so. Cheese is just an unintended way to proceed in a level.

actualy i found cheese in the first level,at 1:09 you could have wall jumped on the left first then on the right and have a cannon for the rest of the level you could then do the car part without car and destroy the blocs with the cannon
That second level (Cold Goat Pass) has also some other cheese (I believe), though it would not be easy.
if you had all the red coins you could use the key you get to get through the boss-door without even fighting the boss.
however, if they other key-door skips it already entirely, than the cheese is useless (and no cheese at all)
Takes me back to the very original SMW. The 2nd level where you get the Cape. Amazing how if you kept goofing around flying, on one portion of space in the level you would eventually hit some clouds. Then it all began; the lift off from those, to me 1st learning how to 'fly' - and just becoming a part-time speedrunner and just flying to the goal. I think the famous Star level, Outrageous had some erm, Outrageous cheese in it too, snuck in there. This sort of 'scope' to many levels was what actually cemented me as a Nintendo fan =)

You can actually hit blocks from the side as many times as you need to without damaging the car by turning around at the last moment and sort of "tail whipping" them with the car's rear end. You can even do it while jumping to hit blocks higher up. I figured this out on a level that only gives you a single car and forced you to get through a bricked up tunnel to reach the flagpole.

You should play some of my maps. Almost everyone have one intentional cheese posibility in it. It's not a bug, it's a feature, but you have to be creative to find them.
I'm pretty sure with the first level you could keep the cannon box right before the first checkpoint, which if you can keep it makes the car unnecessary. With the second level, I'm suspicious about the on/off switches.
In the second level i think there is a little more cheese. If you get all the red coins and do not use them in that key door at the checkpoint u can skip the boss battle. Correct me if im wrong.

Wait, couldn't you "cheese" these upside down levels using the handheld side of the Switch? Playing with the screen upside down, making the level not upside down? You can even adjust that on most monitors as well, to change the screen to "upside down", which wouldn't require the use of the handheld part, or maybe that's a good idea for a video, playing normal levels with the screen upside down, just some ideas. I don't have a Switch yet though so I dunno. Anyone who wants to get me one feel free though :p

And this, my friends, is why you don't allow infinite powerups via cannons or pipes (aside from maybe a boss fight). You must also anticipate that players will put on shelmets if given the chance to reset the room and make sure the level requires that you do so.
The worst thing with if something happens the video ends videos is trying to not see how long it is to not get spoiled

Its not exactly fair for someone to build a level specifically without cheese and then tell someone to try and cheese it. Cheese comes from a course that someone made where by accident they left cheese behind. You cant have your entire goal to not allow any cheese...

I agree with you that it’s cheese! No one cheeses levels quite like Ryu. He has an absurd eye for it.
He’s good at precision too for sure, but the RUclips videos of precision levels are usually edited down a fair bit. On Twitch they usually take him much longer. That being said, he’s still DEFINITELY amazing at precision, as you have to be a computer or a god to not struggle with that.
