@@HungaroExplorer Ahiki is also my number 1, Lanihuli is my second favorite, I call her my lil soup bowl because I love watching how she collects the clouds in that little basin towards her peak
Awesome hike, thanks! Beautiful day and great camera work as always. Not much you can do on super sunny days unless you can get a filter on the lens. I didn't get to do the hike to Mt. Olympus last summer, (did make the Moanalua Valley trail to the Haiku stairs though) so hoping to get there this coming summer. Thanks for the motivation.
I am glad I could motivate you! Yes, you are right, using a polarizer filter would help, but for a small action canera I don’t bother. I could make it look ok :)
wow getting up to the flats and having that view of Konahuanui, you know its gonna be a good day! Fantastic, I can't wait to try this one, I haven't yet touched that section of the KST between k2 and Olympus edit to talk about the new gear: the sound is very even when you talk, more than before the transition between music/background hiking sounds and when you start to narrate is much smoother. I'm not sure if that's an editing thing or just the quality of the new camera, but it's nice!
Mahalo for your feedback! I know you are watching my videos for a while, so it feels good that you are sharing your opinion. The smoothness is just a bit of editing technique but the actual sound from this little camera is really good. That section of the KST is one of the longest traverses on the South, but is one of the nicest too. Just take your time when you go, follow the faint trail and you should be good. 🤙🏻
At around 6:24, when Nandor talks about bypassing the summit trail by taking the old Castle trail, if you look to the right of him, you can see a pink trail ribbon marking the trail. It's about 10 feet down from where he is walking.
@@HungaroExplorer ok thank you. Thought that might be it. Resident of Manoa . Have approached the central ridge but never mounted it. Nice to see what it's like up there
Aloha Nandor, thank you for letting us join you folks on your hike on a beautiful day. AWESOME!!!
Mahalo for watching! I am glad I can give back a little bit of real Hawaii through my videos🤙🏻
So cool!
Nice to see my Trail-Buddy Ethan 🤩
Awesome landscape and nice shots!
He is a great trail buddy for sure😎
Epic Film AS ALWAYS, mate! That Ethan guy looks super cool too!
Yepp, that Ethan guy is a good addition for sure 😄
Also, you guys nailed the weather! 🙌🏼🤙🏼
Couldn’t wish for better weather, maybe cooler 😜
Hell yeah brother! Power of the selfie stick!!!
Haha, true dat!😂
Outstanding Nandor!
Mahalo Tom!🤙🏻
Also: the constant views of Olomana make this a must for me
Haha, true. You love Olomana! By the way Ahiki is my favorite peak on the island with Ohulehule and Lanihuli.

As always you make the best Hawaii hiking videos🤙🏽
Thanks braddah! I appreciate that!

John you have good eyes 😄
Thanks for pointing that out. I was looking at a trail much further below on the left. Stretches like that: Me so chicken.
Awesome!
Thanks for the views
this looks like you started with Mt Olympus am I wrong? :)
Nope, we started with Konahuanui but from Manoa Valley not from the usual Kalawahine trail from Tantalus.
want to see the Kalihi traverse-- witch's hat, etc.
I have a video called “The most dangerous traverse” it is a shorter video about the saddle, but not a vlog more of a cinematic drone video.
any id on 7:36? Very nice video. Unbelievable weather
You are thinking of Ka’au Crater in the video I think. The weather was just perfect for a traverse!
@@HungaroExplorer ok thank you. Thought that might be it. Resident of Manoa . Have approached the central ridge but never mounted it. Nice to see what it's like up there
From Manoa you could climb up Kolowalu Trail to Mt. Olympus to have a great view of the crater. Great route!
@@HungaroExplorer yes. I've done it. very nice. didn't make it to the central ridge, but made it 2/3 of the way. My children have been up there
You can’t have two consonants next to each other in Hawaiian language
Yes, I think that is true, but what is the comment refers to in the video? I couldn’t figure it out.
@@HungaroExplorer video title, awa’awa’loa, between a and l you have an okina, a Hawaiian consonant next to L another consonant
@alexgray8804 Yes, now I see it. You are right! That goes in the front actually, thanks for pointing it out.
