Fantastic! When I was at college, and even in poetry class, no teacher ever explained this so well.

English is not my native language and I am a Computer Science guy, but I love those classic English poems just as I do Chinese traditional/classic poems (I came from China BTW). I have tried in many ways, read several books on how to learn English "classic poems", but with so much confusion... UNTIL weeks ago I found this Close Reading Poetry!!!
A sincere THANK YOU, Adam/Close-Reading-Poetry---from my HEART!!!

What a good introduction. The music or the words and language come true.

I'm so grateful for your videos. You are a wonderful professor.
Unfortunately we don't have access to credit cards in my country, otherwise I would have supported you as much as possible. 🙏🏻

I never considered just how much meter could change the feel of a poem until that concept appeared on some random video and i decided to go look into it and found this video.
Guess who's gonna rewrite some of their poems! Im very glad I've found this video. And now i wanna watch all the others in this series

Another excellent delivery with useful examples. Your concluding comments about rhythm in nature and life really encapsulates the concept intelligently.

You just can't imagine how important is this, maybe you realize how bad is my English, but I dream of being someone like you in English literature as I am in Arabic literature ❤
With love from Saudi Arabia ❤

I love this info. But I can't find the downloads on his website. Bummer. But I will keep listening. I love iambic pentameter.
