@Leon Barnett Nobody is talking about sound, but I also noticed very few people were looking at this from a technical standpoint. When I said turn up the vocals, I meant bringing the vocals above the beat a bit so that the driving guitar that plays through the verse doesn't drown out the vocals when it hits.
Treble sounds always naturally come through louder, so he'd either have to lower the volume on on the guitar which I personally think would throw the beat off, or bring the vocals up.
