Thank you so much for this video. You, and so many other generous people have helped me so much with repair and maintenance work on my vehicle. You make the world a better place. I am really, truly grateful.
Thanks for the tip. That's something I like to do when I'm getting ready to sell my car. I have a 2001 Honda Odyssey and a 2005 Honda Accord. I won't be selling them for a few years, Lord willing. I just tried your trick and it worked on my 2001 Odyssey and my 2005 Accord.
Thanks did this on my 2002. Wondered why the light was blinking, then stayed on. Watched your video and it was much faster than checking the manual. Thanks!
@Electric-Everything. Thanks for the comment. I can't stand videos that waste others time and you have to watch a 10 minute video for 20 seconds of needed information.
@Chris Spain, unfortunately, about a year after making this video my odyssey transmission finally went and I ended up selling the van. But I would get another one in a heartbeat. These things (except the transmission) lasts forever.
That is sad, I just used your video again for my 230k oil change, still running strong but my trans does whistle which is a sign of the output bearings going from what I read. I will probably put another trans in mine if it does go this van is such a good one
10x thumbs up thank u i went one of store and ask me to diagnostic for 125 usd and dang you explain good i save 125 usd thank u and ill give u 100%real
Hahaha, thanks, my light is on and I had forgotten this. Do your dashboard lights go out as much as mine do. The little light behind the D for Drive light is burnt out, as well as my clock and odometer lights.
Just picked up a 2003 Honda odyssey a year ago for only 600 from a friend of the family the maintenance required light is only blinking at the moment should I wait for a steady light to reset what can I do it now It only has 134,000 original miles at all of it is the XSLLO leather four captain chairs DVD cd six speaker set. EDIT…thanks for your reply 😅.
Everytime I put the car into drive or reverse, the third brake light on the dashboard keeps lighting up. This problem occurred when I recently changed the light bulb to LED. However, I changed it back to the original light bulb but it still won't go away. What is wrong?
Gabriel Omale, the only way to reset a check engine light is with an OBD2 scanner that has the ability to reset codes. There are plenty of different types of them out there. Some are standalone units and others plug into your OBD2 port but use Bluetooth to send the data to your smartphone.
@Daniel yours truly, thanks, the key is to perform routine maintenance and make sure not to miss major services when due. I'm also a very conservative driver so I'm not hard on the gas or hard on the breaks.
Nothing to do with oil change. Usually comes on at 90k miles. Supposed to replace primary 02 sensor and get injectors cleaned. Real simple. Keeps the engine alive far longer. Old 02s get lazy. 90k injectors are spraying all wild. Hope this helps. ASE master tech. 30 years wrenching.
If this doesn’t work start pushing the button before turning your key, count to ten, then turn the key to before start. For some reason it wouldn’t reset on mine this guys way.
@Katelyn C., thanks for the tip. Every model of Honda has a slightly different reset instruction. Even the same model can have differences between years.
Worked like a charm. The dealership acted like this was a patent secret or something
@Tj, yeah, it’s so they can charge you $100 for a 5 second reset.
Thank you so much for this video. You, and so many other generous people have helped me so much with repair and maintenance work on my vehicle. You make the world a better place. I am really, truly grateful.
AEWSOME! And not drawn out. Quick and to the point very nice

@William Hollinger, there's nothing more annoying than a dashboard light :)
Thanks

I think I need this. Let me give it a trial.
Gabriel Omale, did you give a try? It should work on a variety of Honda models.
@@DIYJeff Thanks it did work on my 2003 Honda Odyssey. How do I reset the check engine light because that is still on?

Is it hard to replace for a woman to replace
@vickysavage7503, turning off the maintenance required light is simple and anyone can do it. Just follow the steps in the video.
