Icing is an infraction in the sport of ice hockey. It occurs when a player shoots the puck across both the center red line and the opposing team's goal line, and the puck remains untouched. However, it is not icing if the puck is shot from behind the halfway line into the goal, or when the shot must be played by the opposing team's goaltender to keep it out of the net. In the former case with a shot puck crossing the goal line completely, the goal is counted.

Adding to that if your team retrieves the puck before the opposition it is considered a pass and the iceing penalty is removed and play continues

If your team is on a penalty kill you can ice it and it wont go back to your own end. It will just wait for the opposition to pick it up.

As a canadian, i love the fact that he is one of the few youtubers that will play NHL
as a hockey fan:
1:Icing is when the team shoots down the puck before the red line(middle line)
2- it's not that easy to score- should make it more difficult
3) when you get points, increase your shot ability, mostly your wrist shot power and accuracy because you are a sniper, and do more 'push shots', you can score better then, and the goalie won't see it as easy as a slap shot

Its nice seeing a change every once in a while. Props Tobi
to explain offside for you: the field ist split in 3 zones, the neutral zone between the blue lines, "your zone" where your goalie is in and so the "opponents zone" where the opponents goalie is in, and it is offside if you manage to get the puck over the blue line from the neutral zone to your opponents zone while one of your players is in the opponents zone. so everyone of the teammates have to stay behind the blue line until the puck is in the opponents zone.

Just something to note tobi,
There are 82 games in the season as well you should use the skill stick, it's easier to aim shots and u can do dekes (skill moves) and have more control

Hey Tobi. Icing is when you shoot the puck from your own side of the centre line and it goes behind the goal line. It results in a face off in your zone. Offside is when a player on your team crosses the offensive blue line before the puck. It results in a faceoff in one of the four red circles in the neutral zone. Hope it helped Tobi

Hockey games normally have 4 or 5 goals in total per game (both teams scores combined). Rookie is pretty easy. NHL isn't a hard game to understand, after 2 or 3 episodes i reckon you will be really good. If you need any NHL help ask me on twitter @cameron69ers, im canadian and I've played every NHL since 98. Great series of branching off into different games, love the idea.

EA need to step up on FIFA and tbf NHL on next gen. NHL 16 is gonna be so fucking good. You should try deking/using skill moves more. If you hold the right bumper and move the right stick like a FIFA celebration you do skills.

Rotu Hiiri Yeah, you're right. It is left bumper. Right stick is body checks Malek Hamzeh and Y pins opponent puck carrier to the boards when near them or asks for a fight in open ice.
***** yeah left bumper and left stick to either side-> your player does a power deke which is useful on 1v1 situations

I would recommend use the wrist shot, also, when you shoot use the left joystick to aim. As well as icing, the definition is : when you're in your end then you shoot it down in the opposing end without crossing the redline. Hope I helped!

If you're behind centre and you shoot the puck down the ice to pass the opposing goal it's icing. Also it's offsides when a player passes the blue line before he has the puck.
Keep this series up I really like it I feel like it will be entertaining
You can sim when youre on the bench or see when your energy is full and click B to get a line change. Also click B if your energy is low and you want to change.
If you want to fight eventually change your player style from fighting "never" to "sometimes".
When you fell over in the game that was called "Checking" which is legal in hockey, but cross checking (checking while leading with your hockey stick), which is the reason why you were sent to the penalty box.

Do a deke with the right analog stick and it pulls the stick tot the sides and the you can shoot and it helps put the goalie out of position

This series is great so far
The way to win faceoffs is by holding your right stick to the left or the right, then rotating it down when the puck is dropped. If you try winning faceoffs the way you were on any other difficulty it will not work. Great video, as always.
Improve puck handling and since you are in a center position, probably use the shooting as well. Tip, since you are a center, try and get in front of the goalie more so when your teammates take shots you are there for rebounds and to put those rebounds away. Great vid tobi!
That goalie went to jail lol. Icing is when you shoot the puck down the ice past everyone before the centre line. Offside is when you go over the opponents blue line before the puck does.

Hey the reason that it is so easy is because on rookie everything goes in I suggest you turn it to pro and see how that works for you. Also the main things you want to upgrade is slapshot\wristshot accuracy, speed, agility, faceoffs and offensive awareness. Hope this helps love the videos man!!

Icing is when you shot the puck from before centre ice(where they drop the puck at the beginning of the period) so it gos back to your zone to make a punishment for shooting it down

Hockey is similar to soccer in scoring and that, I'd say it's a little easier to score in hockey though!

(Sniper is basically you have a quick and precise shot, at least that's a term we use in hockey. Don't know how that relates to the game mechanic.)

To score more often try to go beside the keeper and use your analog stick to deke around and do a wrist shot. They are nit as strong but they are extremely accurate. Slap shots are strong but not as accurate
If you want to make a 1 on 1 move press LB and move the right stick in the direction in the way you want to move

When MLB The Show 15 comes out you need to play that. Their Pro mode is sick (As long as you're anything other than a Pitcher or Catcher)
Upgrade puck skills and shot specifically slap shot and when you're talking a slapper hold it down longer
If you use the right stick and flick it up or forward its a wrist shot and more accurate
Just letting you know, there's a stat in hockey called plus minus. If you're on the ice when your team scores you get plus 1, if you're on when the other team scores you get minus 1. That's why when they scored you got a minus.

1. Shooting 2. Skating 3. Senses 4. Puck skills 5. Defense 6. Physical

Hey Tobi, Imma Canadian so I know hockey pretty well a I'll give u a word of advice. If you are close to the goalie and no d is in front of u, u can swing the right stick left or right to deke or fake the goalie then push up to score. Also, when they tangle up with u they are not fighting they are just instigating and if u want to fight or instigate just press y. If u have anymore questions u can ask me
If someone is trying to fight you tap triangle to get them off and use LB or LT to do skill moves
Little tip don't stake out to the sides as much, just stick to the centre most of the time, you are a centre...
When on the bench look at your energy bar at the bottom left and if it is green then tap B to get on the ice
Tobi your also allowed to go behind the net and the net usually gets knocked around often, stopping the play
I usually hate when people play hockey and don't know anything about it because they usually just bash it but at least you're trying to figure out what's happening
You gotta take the wrists shots when your close and the slap shots when your further
I'm not really a sports games liver but I really enjoyed this maybe when you get better you could do a Side men Vs. Side men in NHL.

Icing is when your a team shoots it down the ice and it passes 3 lines. This is canceled out when your on the penalty kill.
If you want to take a wrist shot it's better when you are closer to the goal go to the right on the right stick and push it up

You need to this in NHL 16. This is a good series. also do it in Madden or NBA
Another good way to score is the forhand backhand or the backhand forehand have a look on RUclips for a video it takes a while to master it

Totally turn it to atleast pro or higher, and upgrade Puck Skills or passing... as a Center your job is to take chances when through on net, other than that you pass the puck to the outside and make plays. Centers usually have more assists than goals. Wingers are usually the scorers.
