- The UK has joined the US, France and a host of allies in calling for an immediate temporary ceasefire in Lebanon, warning the escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah is “intolerable”.
In a joint statement, the 12-strong bloc calls for a 21-day ceasefire “to provide space for diplomacy towards the conclusion of a diplomatic settlement”, as well as a ceasefire in Gaza.
Defence and security expert professor Anthony King joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

A ceasefire means Hezbollah can regroup, rearm - perhaps using the money that the UK has just approved for Lebanon.

No other country would be held to an unreachable standard and expected to just sit back and let themselves be terrorised, the way that Israel is. The UN is trying to help Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah by demanding Israel to accept their ceasefire deal proposals. I find their support to Iran and their violent proxies more than strange.
